ontrary to the popular tourism tagline, what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. In fact, almost every Las Vegas visitor wants their own “only-in-Vegas” story that they can share with others— especially those in town for spring break. Allegiant passengers looking for an only-inVegas adventure sure to make their friends and family back home envious can go behind the scenes at one of the city’s most beloved productions with Blue Man Group’s Behind the Blue experience. Priced at just $55 with any ticket purchase, this interactive 75-minute tour takes place each night before Blue Man Group’s first performance. Guests will meet up with their tour guide in the theater lobby two hours prior to show time to sign a waiver and pick out their complimentary luminescent souvenir from the gift shop before being escorted into the showroom. Participants will then be led onstage where they can view Blue Man Group’s inventive instruments up close, even having the opportunity to play a few of the pieces like the Spider-Drum and PVC. Be sure to bring your smartphones to capture some footage so you can show off your drumming skills on social media! After learning some of the show’s secrets, including what Blue Man Group’s custommade grease-based makeup feels like, guests will briefly be taken outside of the showroom to see photos from Blue Man Group’s 25-year history posted on the theater’s walls. One photo that’s particularly noteworthy is of Blue Man Group’s founders, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton, walking through New York City with a casket signifying the death of the ’80s as a way to welcome the ’90s. The bit was filmed by MTV News, thrusting Blue Man Group into the national spotlight for the first time.

The Behind the Blue experience concludes with participants sitting in on that evening’s sound check where the cast and crew warm up for the night’s performances. Guests will see the Blue Men run through a few songs and watch them practice one of the show’s signature bits where one Blue Man throws gumballs and marshmallows into the other two Blue Men’s mouths. Blue Man Group performs nightly inside Luxor Hotel and Casino, dark March 1. Allegiant passengers receive special offers when they purchase their show tickets onboard. MAGICIANS AT WORK PENN & TELLER CONTINUE TO BRING EXCITING NEW ILLUSIONS TO THE STAGE AND SCREEN By Heather Turk

I

t takes a lot of hard work to have a successful show in Las Vegas—just ask Penn & Teller.

The magicians’ long-running show at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, which celebrated its 16th anniversary earlier this year, continues to be one of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s hottest tickets for a reason: it’s constantly changing. No matter how many times fans see the production, they’re almost always guaranteed to see something different, whether it’s an illusion Penn & Teller haven’t performed onstage in years or something new they’ve been working on, like making an African pigmy spotted elephant disappear. “The conventional wisdom in Las Vegas is that you don’t need to change anything [in your show] because the audience always changes,” Penn Jillette told Sunseeker. “You develop your show on the road, nail things down and then you come to Las Vegas and play golf. But Teller and I didn’t get into show business to get out of show business. I mean, why would we play golf when we could be writing a show?”

Despite the fact that Jillette acknowledges he and his partner have “four hours of material for a 90-minute show,” the two are always hard at work creating new mind-blowing illusions. This is not only to keep audiences entertained, but also to continuously challenge themselves. “The only reason to do anything new now is because it’s hard,” Jillette said. “The stuff we’re doing today is the hardest stuff anyone has ever done. When Teller and I get to talking about something new, if either one of us pitches something that’s easy and fast it’s immediately off the table.” One of Penn & Teller’s newest illusions was actually a result of a conversation Teller had with fellow illusionist Paul Kieve about the old magic cliché where a magician pulls a rabbit out of a hat and how difficult that is to do. “I had never seen it done before, Penn had never seen it—people say they’re going to pull a rabbit out of a hat, but they pull a bunch of handkerchiefs out of the hat first and then pull the rabbit out of the handkerchiefs,” Teller stated. “Or maybe there’s a stage full of furniture and they pull a bouquet of flowers out of a hat, then stand behind a table and pull the rabbit out of a hat.” Though the bit took less than half a year to figure out—which is fairly fast when compared to the six years it took to bring Elsie the African pigmy spotted elephant to the stage—Teller admitted it was still very difficult to accomplish.

One of Penn & Teller’s newest tricks, Rabbit, features Teller pulling a rabbit out of a hat 24

FEATURE STORY

“I did my research, too,” Teller said. “I wasn’t about to reinvent the wheel if I didn’t have to!”

Penn & Teller’s sleight-of-hand routine, Looks Simple Allegiant travelers planning to see Penn & Teller’s Las Vegas show in early March are in for a real treat, as the two will be performing several new illusions in preparation for season four of their hit show “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” on the CW. Recently nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award, the show features the duo performing a different illusion at the end of each episode, so Penn & Teller have been working on new bits to film for the upcoming season for weeks. Those in town March 9 through 24 can attend a taping of the show for free; visit the Rio box office for more details.

Penn & Teller perform Saturday through Wednesday at 9 p.m. (dark March 9-24). Tickets start at $75, plus tax and fees. Be sure to arrive early, as ticket holders are encouraged to come onstage to inspect the props used in that night’s performance, while enjoying live jazz music by the Mike Jones Duo. Bring your smartphone, too, as guests can get a quick photo with Penn & Teller in the theater lobby during a free post-show meet and greet. For more information, visit riolasvegas.com.

“Penn & Teller: Fool Us” isn’t the only thing keeping the magicians busy outside of their Las Vegas show, either. The two are always working on various projects, like Jillette’s recent New York Times best-selling book release, Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales, which chronicles how he lost 110 pounds. Not only will fans who see Penn & Teller at the Rio notice Jillette’s leaner figure, but repeat ticket holders will notice the magician has more energy since dropping the weight. While keeping the weight off has been no easy task, Jillette said it’s nothing compared to the hard work he’s become accustom to creating new tricks. “Some of the stuff Teller and I work on can take five, six, sometimes seven years and we still can’t get it right,” Jillette laughed.

Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino is Las Vegas’ newest entertainment venue

A STAR IS BORN PARK THEATER SHINES AS LAS VEGAS’ NEWEST ENTERTAINMENT VENUE By H. Wadowski

O

n Dec. 17, 2016, rock icons Stevie Nicks and The Pretenders christened the stage of Las Vegas’ newest entertainment venue, Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Part of Nicks’ 24 Karat Gold Tour, the sold-out concert marked the first of several big-name events to be held at the 5,200-seat theater, which will play host to touring acts, sporting events and even conventions and award shows throughout the year as well as multiple-run engagements from some of music’s most acclaimed artists.

In April, Park Theater will welcome Ricky Martin for his first-ever Las Vegas residency. Helmed by legendary director Jamie King, who has directed more than two dozen tours for such superstars as Madonna and Rihanna, the oneof-a-kind show will showcase Martin’s greatest hits, as well as his current singles, and include multiple costume changes from the Grammy Award winner. Shows are April 5, 7, 8, 11, 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. For more on the venue, visit parktheaterlv.com

Costing approximately $90 million, the stateof-the-art theater is one of Las Vegas’ most striking venues, with natural lighting and views overlooking The Park, the Strip and the nearby T-Mobile Arena from its concourse areas. The farthest seat is only 145 feet from the stage, and there are a limited number of high-end tables that offer bottle service for VIP guests. The versatile venue can also accommodate seating on its first level as well as standing general admission. Bruno Mars and Cher were the first artists to sign on as recurring headliners at the theater, with Mars performing back-to-back dates over New Year’s Eve weekend and Cher kicking off 38

“MGM Resorts was missing a mid-sized theater designed for live music as well as a flexible space to host sports and other events,” said Rick Arpin, senior vice president of entertainment at MGM Resorts International, when asked about the decision to build a new theater. “Most of our showrooms and theaters have between 1,000 and 2,000 seats. With the significant demand for artists doing multipleshow engagements like we have seen at The Colosseum [at Caesars Palace] and The AXIS [at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino], we wanted to include a similar-sized theater in our portfolio of venues.”

Celebrating five decades of memorable music, Michael Clift (Barry), David Scott (Robin) and Wayne Hosking (Maurice) perform more than 20 classic Bee Gees tracks—everything from “Nights on Broadway” to “How Deep is Your Love”—during the 75-minute production. They even sing a few hit songs the Bee Gees wrote for other artists, like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ “Islands in the Stream.” By the time the toe-tappin’ production is over, “You Should Be Dancing” to the music and luckily, there’s a dance floor close by so ticket holders can show off their disco moves. excalibur.com/ en/entertainment/the-australian-bee-gees.html

“MJ LIVE” AT STRATOSPHERE CASINO, HOTEL & TOWER

This fast-paced production is the world’s most successful Michael Jackson tribute concert for two reasons: Jalles Franca and James Times III. Regardless of which tribute artist audiences see, even the biggest MJ fan will be in awe of the rotating impersonators’ spot-on performances as they sing and dance along to some of Jackson’s greatest hits, including “Thriller,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean.” The hour-long show also pays tribute to the King of Pop early on in his career with a fun segment dedicated to the Jackson 5. stratospherehotel.com/entertainment/mj-live 40

“PURPLE REIGN: THE PRINCE TRIBUTE SHOW” AT WESTGATE LAS VEGAS RESORT & CASINO

Prince may have passed away last year, but with his flamboyant style and pitch-perfect vocals, Purple Reign frontman Jason Tenner brings the music icon back to life during this hit tribute show. Not only does Tenner perform some of Prince’s biggest hits, including “Let’s Go Crazy” and “1999,” during the 75-minute production, but there’s also a segment dedicated to The Time that’s sure to have audiences on their feet dancing along to “The Bird.” A nonstop party from start to finish, it’s easy to see why Purple Reign has been one of Las Vegas’ most popular tribute acts for nearly two decades! westgatedestinations.com/Nevada/las-vegas/ westgate-las-vegas-hotel-casino/entertainment/ purple-reign

SIGNS OF SPRING MESA COMES ALIVE WITH COLOR By Kate Wallace

A

llegiant travelers heading to the Southwest this spring will want to time their visit with the wellspring of wildflowers, orchard blossoms and desert blooms that begin to peep and pop to the awe of onlookers. Locals are anticipating a vibrant display this spring, thanks to Arizona’s plentiful winter rains, which set the stage for a colorful show each March and April.

Photos of fields of gold and hikers courtesy of Visit Mesa; Peach blossoms by Michelle Streeter

WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

Visitors will want to pay attention to the desert floor as they head out on Mesa’s trails. In March, hikers can watch for the deep purple desert lupine flowers that are one of the first to welcome the seasonal change. The concentration of wildflowers will change at various elevations. Higher up on the hill, Mexican Gold poppies form in large swaths creating Arizona’s fields of gold. Yellow and orange Brittlebush flowers line Pass Mountain Trail, one of the more popular lowland paths inside Mesa’s Usery Mountain Regional Park. At 7.5 miles in length, this is the park’s longest hiking trail and an ideal location to view the fire engine red Ocotillo blooms that resemble flames on the tips of the long-stemmed spiny cactus. Check the park’s online events calendar for wildflower programming before your visit. maricopacountyparks.net

Hikers on the trails at Mesa’s Usery Mountain Regional Park

AWESOME BLOSSOMS

In neighboring Queen Creek, the town signals spring when the peach trees at Schnepf Farms start to blossom. The 300-acre peach orchard (with rows of apple trees mixed in) serves up a jaw-dropping backdrop for photos. Every shade of pink is present here, from bright fuchsia to light rose. The flowery tree branches pop against the cloudless blue skies common this time of year. Visitors can join the fun at the farm’s annual Peach Blossom Festival. Exact dates depend on Mother Nature, so guests are encouraged to call ahead for hours of operation. schnepffarms.com

SCENTS OF CITRUS

Another tell-tale sign of spring is the scent of citrus in the air. Mesa is home to acres and acres of citrus groves, a proud Arizona mainstay whose industry is revered in the state’s seal. When warm days merge with crisp cool nights, citrus blossoms open their petite petals and the overpowering fragrance of navel oranges, Lisbon lemons and Rio Red grapefruit fills the air. Follow your nose to the Orange Patch, one of Mesa’s original growers. Complimentary citrus tastings and tours are offered all spring long. orangepatch.com For more information go online to visitmesa.com.

Sloan Park, the Cactus League home of the Chicago Cubs

PLAY BALL! ARIZONA’S CACTUS LEAGUE IS THE SPRING TRAINING HOME TO 15 MLB TEAMS By Matt Seli

I

t finally happened. After 108 years of gutwrenching losses, less-than memorable seasons and infamous curses, the Chicago Cubs finally brought the Commissioner’s Trophy home to the ever-loyal fans of the city’s North Side. While the party hasn’t stopped in the Windy City, spring is now upon us, which brings a new season of hope for fans of all 30 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams. Whether you are a Cubs fan or a fan of any one of the teams that call the Valley of the Sun home to their spring training programs, it’s baseball time in the desert and you’re invited!

EAST VALLEY

Sloan Park, the spring training home for the Chicago Cubs, opened in 2014, making it one of the newest facilities in the Cactus League. Known to supporters as Wrigleyville West, it isn’t hard to see why with its replica of Wrigley Field’s iconic marquee, nearby streets named after their Wrigleyville counterparts, and rooftop bars and

outfield berms that pay homage to Wrigley Field. Located in Mesa, you won’t have far to travel to get to a game once you land at the PhoenixMesa Gateway Airport. In addition to the Chicago Cubs, the Oakland A’s also call Mesa their spring training home. Originally opened by the A’s in 1977, HoHoKam Stadium welcomed the club back after spending their most recent spring sessions in Phoenix.

WEST VALLEY

If you are spending your trip in the up-andcoming west part of the Valley of the Sun, you’ll have plenty of venues nearby to catch a game. Fans of both the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians can head on over to Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear to see their teams in action. Here, fans can not only enjoy the game from their seats, but also throughout the concourse level that wraps completely around the ball park. Camelback Ranch in Glendale is also home to two Major League ball clubs, the Los Angeles

Dodgers and the White Sox of Chicago’s south side. Located just west of Glendale’s popular entertainment district, Westgate, Camelback Ranch offers great views of Major League Baseball framed by stunning mountain landscapes in the background. Surprise Recreation Campus in Surprise is the Cactus League training ground for the 2015 World Series Champion Kansas City Royals as well as their American League rival, the Texas Rangers. These two teams have made some noise in baseball’s postseason as of late and it has started here each season. San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners fans can watch their favorite players get ready for the regular season at Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria. Boasting craft beer brands from both the Pacific Northwest and Southern California, appropriately-aged fans from either of the teams will feel right at home watching their boys of summer. CRAZY ABOUT ANIMALS SPRING IS THE IDEAL TIME TO VISIT PHOENIX’S AMAZING ANIMAL ATTRACTIONS By Teresa Bitler

H

umans aren’t the only ones who enjoy Phoenix’s sunny, 80-degree spring days—animals love them, too! During the spring, you’re more likely to see giraffes sauntering through their savannah habitat, tigers sunning themselves in the grass and even dolphins frolicking in the waters than almost any other time of year.

PHOENIX ZOO

You’ll have to trek roughly 2.5 miles through the Phoenix Zoo, one of the largest non-profit zoos in the country, to visit all of the zoo’s 1,400plus creatures, including its 30 endangered

or threatened species. Highlights include the African Savannah, where giraffes mingle with zebras and other safari animals, and the Arizona Trail, featuring animals of the Sonoran Desert, like the mountain lion and the Mexican grey wolf. The zoo is also home to Asian elephants, Sumatran tigers and the nation’s only walkthrough squirrel monkey exhibit, Monkey Village. If you’re visiting with kids, drop by the Red Barn at Harmony Farm to pet goats; then head to Stingray Bay to touch and feed 30 stingrays. phoenixzoo.org

WILDLIFE WORLD ZOO, AQUARIUM & SAFARI PARK

This nearly 100-acre zoo not only boasts the largest collection of animals in Arizona, but a 90-exhibit aquarium, a safari park with African lions and 10 rides, including a zip line and log flume ride. You can also feed apple slices to lory parrots in their walk-in enclosure and drop pellets on the extended tongues of the world’s tallest land mammal at the giraffe feeding station. But, what really sets the Wildlife World Zoo apart is how intimate it is. The zoo prides itself on letting visitors get as close to the animals as safety allows. Come early and plan to spend the day. wildlifeworld.com

DOLPHINARIS You can feed giraffes at the Wildlife World Zoo

The Phoenix Zoo has been voted one of the most familyfriendly zoos in the nation

Located next door to OdySea Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the Southwest, Dolphinaris lets you swim with eight Atlantic bottlenose dolphins in their 900,000-gallon saltwater tank habitat. Several experiences are available, including a land-only option, but the most popular is the swim experience, which begins with changing into your bathing suit or a provided wetsuit in colder months. Following an orientation, you’ll spend approximately 20 minutes in the tank playing, shaking hands and even sharing kisses with the dolphins. Reservations are recommended. dolphinaris-arizona.com ENTERTAINMENT

MLB SPRING TRAINING FARE WHERE DINING DESTINATIONS ARE AS IMPORTANT AS GAME LOCALES By Amy Young

F

or many people, springtime means one thing: Major League Baseball spring training. People flock to Arizona to embrace as many games as possible on the Cactus League roster. Clubs and restaurants become filled with out-of-towners who are as excited to experience the local culture as much as they are to take in some fun games during the exceptional weather. “Where to dine?” is just as important a question as, “What’s the score?” this time of year. With sporting venues in different areas of town, we picked a few tasty eateries close to the action.

BABY KAY’S CAJUN KITCHEN

Serving traditional Cajun food, this place has been a Valley staple since 1989. Formerly in Phoenix, this hotspot is now located in Mesa, making it a perfect destination for lovers of this cuisine style, as well as those taking in games at Mesa’s Sloan Park. From po’ boy sandwiches to different types of etouffees, and jambalaya loaded with chicken and sausage, Baby Kay’s brings this Louisiana-born cuisine to the Southwest. They didn’t forget the gumbo or fried catfish, either. babykayscajunkitchen.com

TWISTED ITALIAN

A lot of Cactus League fun happens at the Peoria Sports Complex so it’s a good thing there’s no shortage of great places to dine in Peoria. Twisted Italian is a popular place where you can dine on a lighter salad, munch on a cheesy pizza or dive into a hearty pasta offering. Some of their signature dishes in the latter category include the Twisted Ravioli, which tops cheese ravioli with a Marsala and mushroom sauce, and the Gnocchi Telefono, where a plate of pillowy gnocchi is topped with a bacon and tomato cream sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil. eattwisted.com 62

If you’re catching a game in Tempe and get a hankering for a pre- or post-game burger, this spot near the ASU main campus has been serving them up for more than 40 years. Halfpound and 1/3-pound sizes are available to suit different appetites. Get the basic toppings or try a signature burger like the Tijuana Torpedo with jalapeno jack cheese and green chile as a topping to keep you warm. A veggie burger, hot dogs, chicken strips and plenty of side dishes are offered, too. Draft root beer and draft adult beers are also on the menu at this family-friendly, fun hangout. thechuckbox.com

TASTY AND TEMPTING TACOS PHOENIX IS A TACO HAVEN By Amy Young

LA SANTISIMA GOURMET TACO SHOP This downtown Phoenix taco shop immediately hypnotizes you upon entry with the smell of the mesquite that is used to grill its Sonoran Carne Asada tacos, where the steak is first marinated in olive oil, fresh garlic and herbs, adding a lot of depth. The Mayan Cochinita Pibil tacos are loaded with tender pork that has been covered in an achiote seasoning and slow roasted in banana leaves, making it savory and tangy. The restaurant also features a very popular and diverse salsa bar that offers unusual ingredients, like strawberries and pecans. lasantisimagourmet.com

Downtown Gilbert, now a dining hub, is even more complete with a fish taco joint. This charming little spot’s décor achieves the goal of making it feel like it was yanked from a strip in a southern California beach town and plopped down in the middle of the desert. Fish and chips, clam strips and ceviche make for a loaded menu, but fish taco lovers will be in heaven with the many choices. Traditionalists will like the blackened grouper, which is grilled and topped with cabbage, cheese and Baja sauce. Fried food fans will appreciate a beer battered option that adds depth to the crunch. socalfishtacos.com

TACOS CHIWAS

This family-owned Phoenix taco shop pays tribute to their home region of the Mexican state, Chihuahua. Their longtime recipes are used to create the meat-oriented menu, with taco fillings that include beef, pork, beef tongue, chicken and tripe. The signature Taco Chiwas is a combination of beef, ham and cheese with jalapenos and hatch chili peppers to help kick up the heat. The menu also offers burritos, gorditas and quesadillas. tacoschiwas.com

here are so many reasons why people love tacos. They’re delicious, for one. They come in a lot of different varieties; able to accommodate both cravings and dietary restrictions. And they’re not too harsh on the wallet, either. From central Phoenix to its many suburban branches, you don’t have to travel too far without being able to satisfy a taco fix. There are old school shops, longtime staples and modern restaurants that each offer their signature tacos. Crispy shells and soft shells, you name it, this region is a taco haven where you are sure to find some favorites.

hile most of the country is still shoveling snow, you can picnic in sunny Phoenix! Place your order at one of these eateries and dine at a picnic table on property. Or, grab some grub to go and nosh at a nearby park or recreation area.

JOE’S FARM GRILL

Restauranteur Joe Johnston grew up on this Gilbert farm, much of which he has converted into the agrarian neighborhood Agritopia, in the 1960s. The family home, though, became Joe’s Farm Grill, serving sandwiches, salads and grilled pizzas made with ingredients either grown in the adjacent garden or locally sourced. Order the BBQ Chicken Pizza or the

Ahi Tuna Sandwich—both items were featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” —and stake out a place at the picnic tables under the trees that Joe and his brothers used to climb. Or, head to the nearby Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch for lunch and bird watching. joesfarmgrill.com

Although Luci’s has a reputation for great burgers, you can also order salads, wraps and sandwiches, like the Reuben Stack with sauerkraut on marbled rye or the Country Club made with applewood smoked bacon. If you want to eat off property, make the short drive to Dream Draw Recreation Area, where you can tackle the challenging 1.2-mile Summit Trail for spectacular city views. lucisorchard.com

Breakfasts of waffles and omelets are best eaten on the Morning Glory Café patio, but you can easily pack your lunch to go. Try a traditional Old Fashioned Turkey sandwich or a Pecan Turkey Waldorf salad made with organic field greens, all while you sit and picnic under towering pecan trees. If you feel up to an adventure, take your food to the ramadas at South Mountain Park, one of the largest municipally operated parks in the country, and hike the moderately easy Kiwanis Trail after you eat. thefarmatsouthmountain.com

I look forward to flying again with Allegiant and hope to see these two again on a future flight!

n your mark, get set, GO! More than 300 of our Team Members from Las Vegas (LAS) and Headquarters (HQ) are representing Allegiant in the annual Corporate Challenge games. Modeled after the Olympics, our team will be competing in over 40 events against 125 other companies in Las Vegas.

of the events we participate in across the country to foster Teamwork and the unique environment that makes up our culture. While winners receive trophies and bragging rights, the real prize is an increase in company pride and morale.

Day in and day out, our teams work tirelessly to make sure that you have safe and affordable trips, but we like to have fun, too! Our team spends five weeks in the spring competing in sporting events, including swimming, basketball and dodgeball. “I enjoy the comradery not only within Allegiant’s teams, but also in interacting with other Las Vegas companies,” said Terri Wilcox, Aircraft Records Clerk at HQ.

It’s also a time to give back to the community with Allegiant team members volunteering hundreds of hours at local non-profit organizations. The annual program was created by the city of Las Vegas to promote health and wellness in the workplace, but has grown far beyond that mission. A focus on Teamwork and Achievement aligns with two of our core values making it even more of a focus for our Las Vegas team. We have grown quickly over the last few years, and Corporate Challenge is just one example

The Journey of a Wish documents some of the many wishes granted by the chapter

ALLEGIANT AND MAKE-A-WISH® A PARTNERSHIP TAKES FLIGHT By Courtney Goff

A

llegiant has been a part of the national Make-A-Wish® family for more than five years. In that time, we have provided nearly 700 flights to wish destinations, raised funds through the sale of Wingz Kids Snack Packs in-flight and sponsored Walk For Wishes® events across the country. In 2017, Allegiant is opening its home to Make-A-Wish. The $1.5 million renovation of space on Allegiant’s corporate campus in Summerlin will provide a new headquarters, The Wishing Place, for the Southern Nevada chapter of Make-A-Wish under a $1 per year lease. This means nearly $100,000 in annual rent expense will be redirected toward granting more wishes.

In February, Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada unveiled their new headquarters on Allegiant’s campus

The Wishing Place will not only be headquarters to the Southern Nevada chapter of the non-profit organization, but it will also be a place where Wish Kids and their families can visit for hope, warmth and inspiration during illness and recovery.

Dubbed ‘The Wishing Place,’ the new office will be the starting point for all wishes granted by the Southern Nevada chapter

“All of us at Allegiant are thrilled to be able to provide a wonderful new home for MakeA-Wish Southern Nevada and to welcome the many volunteers and staff members to our campus,” said Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., chairman and CEO, Allegiant. “Our partnership with Make-A-Wish, supporting the incredible work they do, brings a great sense of pride to our team – throughout the Allegiant network, and especially here in our hometown.”

Allegiant has been partnering with Make-AWish since 2012 to provide flights for Wish children and their families to destinations across the country. In 2016 alone, we flew more than 200 Wish families to their destinations – that’s over 1,100 seats, and nearly 1 million miles donated thus far. From snorkeling in Hawaii to the Florida theme parks to fossil-exploring in Montana, we’ve been honored to help so many wishes come true. MAKE-A-WISH®

TRAVELER INFORMATION SAFETY FIRST Customer safety is Allegiant ®’s first concern. Please be advised that interference with the duties of crew members, including flight attendants, is a violation of federal laws. Our crews are thoroughly trained in all safety procedures. To ensure your own safety, we hope you take a moment to review the safety information card located in the seat pocket in front of you. Be aware of the following: • Location of the nearest emergency exit • Location of your emergency oxygen mask, if needed • Correct procedure for exiting the cabin in an emergency SEAT BELTS Seat belts must be fastened ANY TIME the seat belt sign is on, during taxi, takeoff and landing. Once the seat belt sign is turned off, you may walk around the cabin. Due to unexpected turbulence, it is strongly recommended that you keep your seat belt fastened any time while in your seat. Allegiant’s exit seating policy does not allow the use of seat belt extensions in the exit seats due to tripping hazards. CHILD RESTRAINT SEATS Federal Aviation Administration requires that all child restraint seats used on planes meet federal safety standards. Acceptable seats bear proper labeling “THIS RESTRAINT IS CERTIFIED FOR USE IN MOTOR

VEHICLES AND AIRCRAFT” from the manufacturer. Unlabeled seats or seats manufactured before Jan. 1, 1981, are not acceptable. Child restraint seats are to be placed into a window seat and secured with an aircraft seat belt. PHOTOS & VIDEOS ONBOARD The use of small cameras or mobile devices for photography and video is permitted onboard provided you keep the purpose of your photography and video to capturing personal events. Photographing or recording other customers or airline personnel without their express consent is prohibited. Airline personnel reserve the right to prohibit photos and videos onboard the aircraft if it becomes a disturbance to them or other passengers. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES Allegiant is forbidden to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone who appears to be intoxicated or who has not yet reached the age of 21. It is a violation of federal regulations to drink alcoholic beverages during a flight unless they have been served by Allegiant personnel. SMOKING Smoking, the use of other tobacco products, e-cigarettes and other similar smoking devices are not permitted on any Allegiant flight. Federal law imposes fines of $1,000 for smoking and up to $2,000 for any attempt to disable an aircraft smoke detector.
