4-MAKE-A-WISH

COVER Allegiant’s commitment to making travel accessible to all makes us a special partner for MakeA-Wish®, translating to more than 1,800 wish flights, a Make-A-Wish chapter office co-located at our headquarters and millions raised to help grant the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses. Allegiant has also provided unique experiences — like SJ’s, featured on the cover. Fiveyear old SJ, born with congenital heart defects requiring multiple surgeries, was asked what he was most looking forward to about his upcoming wish trip to Disney World. His reply? He hoped to help hand out snacks on the plane ride. We surprised SJ by making him an honorary flight attendant, complete with his own uniform and official Allegiant crew wings! SJ greeted passengers during boarding and handed out pretzels like a pro, right along with the crew.

Today, Make-A-Wish and its tens of thousands of volunteers, donors and supporters are responsible for granting a wish every 34 minutes on average in the United States and its territories. But the wishes they grant are much more than just a trip to an amusement park or an opportunity to spend time with a famous celebrity. The wishes they grant inspire hope. They are moments when a child can feel like a kid again and when a light can shine bright during a dark time in their life. That is why our support extends well beyond the wish flights we provide. It is why many of our team members play a significant role as well, and many donate their own time. And why we work closely with the Southern Nevada chapter in our hometown in helping to provide a one-of-a-kind welcoming space for families, volunteers and staff to enjoy. You can read more about Make-A-Wish and our role, as well as how you can play a part, on page 4. Thanks again for choosing Allegiant and have a great vacation. We look forward to serving you again. WHEN STARS ALIGN

C e l e b r at i n g 4 0 Y e a r s o f Make-A-Wish® By Hilarie Grey

As the famous song reminds us, a wish often starts with a star. When it comes to delivering wishes for children facing life-threatening illnesses, Make-A-Wish relies on stars right here on Earth — regular people and organizations who join forces to bring joy, strength and hope to those who need it most. As Make-A-Wish celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, Allegiant is proud to help shine a light on its important mission and the incredible life-changing results brought about when stars align. “Our mission is to bring access to travel to thousands who might not otherwise be able to fly,” said Maury Gallagher, Allegiant chairman and CEO. “We fly from many small- and mediumsized cities underserved by other airlines, nonstop to America’s favorite vacation destinations. And, we strive to keep flying affordable, friendly and convenient. This commitment to accessible travel that makes us different also makes us an ideal partner for Make-A-Wish.”

Today, 77 percent of wishes fulfilled by Make-AWish involve travel — for a special experience like going to a sports event or concert, visiting a science laboratory or the opportunity to go horseback riding at the beach. Since 2012, Allegiant has hosted more than 1,800 wish flights, donating air travel for wish kids and their families to dream destinations. From our very first wish trip with 10-year-old James, traveling from Allentown, Pennsylvania, to visit the Walt Disney World® Resort, to our 1,000th wish in 2018 — bringing 4-year-old Cuatro from McAllen, Texas, to Las Vegas for the Monster Jam World Finals — our team members across the country have been honored to play a part in these special experiences. Wish kids have flown with us on their way to meet favorite musicians, actors and sports stars, to take surfing lessons, to celebrate New Year’s Eve with the ball drop in New York City and everything in-between.

4 ▪ cov e r s to ry

In addition to providing a ride in the sky to a wish destination, our team members love opportunities to play unique roles in granting wishes. For example, 19-year-old Eric’s wish to be a pilot was granted with a special VIP tour of Allegiant’s West Coast Training Center in Las Vegas, including the opportunity to pilot a full-motion Airbus flight simulator. We also helped connect him with a flight school in Reno, where he is currently pursuing the next phase of his education. Recently, five-year-old SJ got a special wish enhancement en route from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Orlando when he became an honorary flight attendant — complete with his very own Allegiant uniform! You can see SJ on our Sunseeker cover this month, as he greeted passengers and distributed snacks right alongside the flight crew. A special thank you to Disney for their donation of theme park tickets and other perks for each of the wish families, including SJ and his family, as part of their 39year relationship with Make-A-Wish.

“Currently, Make-A-Wish grants a wish for one out of every two children with a critical illness, and it’s only through the help of supporters like Allegiant that we are able to close this gap,” said Richard K. Davis, president and CEO of MakeA-Wish America. “Over the years, Allegiant has played an integral role in providing hope and joy through wishes like James, Cuatro, Eric and SJ’s, because every child deserves a childhood.” A home base in our hometown Another unique way Allegiant partners with Make-A-Wish is by sharing our home with the organization’s Southern Nevada chapter. Our suburban Las Vegas headquarters is comprised of several buildings in a campus setting, and when Make-A-Wish was looking for a new local office, we offered to provide space at a $1 per year lease and sponsored a full renovation to create The Wishing Place, a one-of-a-kind, welcoming space for families, volunteers and

staff to enjoy. With more than 1,000 employees based at our headquarters, having Make-AWish right on our campus also provides the opportunity for many more Allegiant team members to volunteer their time and be a direct part of the stirring, joyous results wishes bring to children facing critical illnesses. Stars align for World Wish Day® On World Wish Day — April 29, 2020 — more than 4,400 Allegiant team members across the nation, from our flight crews and airport staff teams to those at our corporate headquarters, will wear a special Star Pin to celebrate the power of a wish. These glow-in-the-dark pins symbolize the light of hope and joy that wishes bring to children in need. Many wishes are still waiting, and they need stars like you in order to come true. You can learn more about the life-changing work of Make-A-Wish over the past 40 years by visiting wish.org and by getting involved with the chapter in your hometown. cov e r s to ry ▪ 5

It doesn’t matter where you are staying in Las Vegas, the city’s growing restaurant scene is sure to have a delectable addition close by that taste buds will love. SANTOS GUISADOS TACOS & BEER Las Vegas’ first guisado (braised) taco shop, this intimate downtown eatery pays homage to some of the homestyle dishes traditionally found in Central Mexico. Guests can relish an array of tasty tacos made with handmade tortillas for lunch and dinner, like the Birria Santa made with slowcooked brisket, salsa verde, onions and cilantro or the Chicken Tinga slow cooked in chipotle peppers, tomatoes and onions and topped with pickled onions. Since each taco is priced individually, guests can try several selections during their meal. Sunseeker recommends ordering three tacos so you can start your meal with an order of the Chips & Salsa for the table and still have room for the Churros served with seasonal ice cream for dessert. santostacoslv.com SIXTH + MILL Already a favorite in downtown Los Angeles, this ristorante, pizzeria and bar inspired by Southern Italy’s risto-pizzerias recently opened a second location inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort. style pizzas cooked in 95 seconds, the inviting eatery boasts a mouthwatering menu of pies, homemade pastas and seasonal entrées for lunch and dinner influenced by both its chef’s and restaurateur’s Italian heritage. Delicious Italian dishes like the fior-di-latte-stuffed Ravioli made with lemon cream and mint oil — or the beef and pork Polpette topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella — are only enhanced by the atmosphere on the restaurant’s indoor patio in St. Mark’s Square, where guests can be entertained by the Streetmosphere performers and watch gondolas bob in the canals. sixthandmill.com TRUE FOOD KITCHEN Known for its health-driven seasonal menus made from only the freshest ingredients, this popular restaurant recently opened its first two locations in Las Vegas: one at Downtown Summerlin and one inside The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Serving lunch, dinner and Saturday/Sunday brunch, it offers an array of nutritious items that burst with flavor. The vegetarian Edamame Dumplings made with dashi, white truffle oil and Asian herbs are a must, as is the succulent Grassfed Burger topped with umami, mushrooms, caramelized onions, arugula, Parmesan and mayonnaise that comes served on a flaxseed bun. While most people enjoy their steaks on the rarer side, something every steak eater can agree on is that they want to dine at a steakhouse that’s well done. That is why even in a foodie mecca like Las Vegas, where almost every resort has a steakhouse, steak connoisseurs were excited when Smith & Wollensky moved back into town. A staple of the Strip for almost two decades, Smith & Wollensky reopened inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort last year after closing its original Las Vegas location in 2017. Spanning 14,000 square feet, the new location features a tavern-like, open concept bar and lounge on its first level and the main dining room on its second level, the latter of which offers seating overlooking the Grand Canal Shoppes’ south canal turnaround, so diners can watch the gondolas glide by. The upper level also features an 18-seat bar outfitted with mirror hidden televisions, a luxurious lounge, a striking wine wall, several private dining rooms and a view into the steakhouse’s dry-aging butcher room.

12 ▪ Dining

An inviting atmosphere, robust wine list and fantastic fare aside, what makes Smith & Wollensky a cut above other Las Vegas steakhouses is its attentive, yet not intrusive staff, who truly go out of their way to make sure everyone’s experience is exceptional. It’s no wonder why in such a competitive dining market, Smith & Wollensky continues to live up to its reputation as “America’s steakhouse.” smithandwollensky.com/ourrestaurants/las-vegas

Although the restaurant’s location may have changed, its fare remains as superb as ever. Its hand-cut USDA Prime steaks are chosen from the top 2 percent of all beef in America, then aged for 28 days in house to further intensify the flavor and tenderness. Although each cut of beef is plenty flavorful on its own, the steakhouse offers a variety of specialty steaks that are especially flavorsome thanks to different rubs, crusts, sauces and marinades. Be sure to try the Filet Oscar topped with hollandaise or the perfectly seasoned Cajun Marinated USDA Prime Bone-In Rib Eye.

Smith & Wollensky’s lunch and dinner menus also feature a selection of starter dishes and sides guaranteed to wow even the most discerning palate, like the battered Angry Shrimp served in a spicy lobster butter sauce and the Truffled Mac & Cheese. Rounding out the delectable dining experience is an array of chilled shellfish and chef-inspired entrées, like the Togarashi Rubbed Tuna.

MON AMI GABI AT PARIS LAS VEGAS Boasting Las Vegas’ finest patio dining experience, this French bistro across from the Fountains of Bellagio has one of the Strip’s best kids’ menus. There’s even a selection of kid-sized desserts, like the creamy Chocolate Mousse topped with sprinkles and whipped cream. For something off the regular menu, adults will relish the Wild Escargots de Bourgogne in garlic-herb butter. monamigabi.com/las-vegas SUGAR FACTORY AMERICAN BRASSERIE AT FASHION SHOW This whimsical eatery may not have a kids’ menu, but almost everything it serves will leave kids wide-eyed. GRAFFITI BAO Given that esteemed chef Marc Marrone’s tasty bao buns — like the Royale with Cheese made with Angus beef, cheese, pickles, onions and a special sauce — quickly became a local favorite when T-Mobile Arena started serving them last March, it was only a matter of time before an offStrip restaurant opened to serve them. IT’S A SPIEGELWORLD AFTER ALL THRIVING PRODUCTION COMPANY NOW BOASTS THREE MUST-SEE SHOWS ON THE STRIP By Heather Turk

Spiegelworld may not be a household name like Cirque du Soleil, but the acclaimed production company is behind three of Las Vegas’ most popular shows. Each adults-only show boasts a unique cast of performers from around the world who are sure to leave audience members’ mouths agape throughout the entire production — either in awe over their jaw-dropping feats or gasping for air from laughing so hard at their hilarious antics. spiegelworld.com

Whether it’s the show stopping dance moves of twin tap dancers Sean and John Scott or Raquel Reed’s sensual gorilla burlesque routine, audiences are in for a great time. Plus, since no two shows are the same, audience members have a reason to come back and see the production again!

The risqué variety production features a cast of unforgettable characters, including two Irish hand dancers and a nun with a unique ping pong ball talent. Thanks to the theater’s intimate seating arrangement — a staple of all Spiegelworld productions — ticket holders never know when aerialists will soar over their heads or characters will start a bar fight near them.

The Spiegelworld show that started it all remains one of the Strip’s hottest tickets for good reason: it’s arguably the best acro-cabaret variety show in town. Due to its popularity, audiences never

While audiences will always want to see the newest shows on the Strip, it says a lot when a production has been playing in Las Vegas for a while and still continues to draw a crowd. That’s why when visitors want a sure bet for a great time, they often choose to see one of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s more established productions — crowd favorites that have been entertaining audiences for years.

Audiences will be transported back in time as Medley and Heard perform such unforgettable classics as “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'.” Additionally, Medley gives an emotional performance of “Unchained Melody” that he dedicates to Hatfield and performs “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” with his daughter, McKenna. VIVA LAS VEGAS ZZ TOP ROCKS THE VENETIAN FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR By Heather Turk

its original members intact. Gibbons, Hill and Beard’s undeniable chemistry together results in a near-flawless concert experience that continues to keep fans coming back for more.

“We're really looking forward to another home stand at The Venetian,” said singer/guitarist Billy Gibbons, who along with bassist/vocalist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard make up “That Little Ol’ Band from Texas.” “Our previous stays were a smashingly terrific experience. To be able to leave the stage without the predictable pack up and travel through the night is a refreshing contrast to what's typical for ZZ. I think, as a result, we were super energized every time we hit the deck.”

“The three of us have been doing this so long that our performances are a function of telepathy,” Gibbons said. “Each of us instinctively knows what the other guys are gonna do before knowing what we're gonna do. It's an unequaled telekinetic mind meld.”

Having celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2019, ZZ Top holds the remarkable distinction of being the longest-running major rock band with all of

to bet you'll sing along with at least half of the repertoire, and by the time we complete the show, the other half will click solidly.” Since Gibbons commented that the band still gets “charged up” playing favorites from their 1983 album “Eliminator,” it’s likely fans will hear classics like “Legs,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’” and “Sharp Dressed Man” during the Las Vegas dates. Additionally, Gibbons teased that things always “get fierce” whenever the band plays “Tush” and “La Grange.” Regardless of which tracks the band performs live, audiences are sure to connect with the music and have a great time. “The fact that ZZ is truly based in the blues accounts for the loyalty of longtime listeners and the emergence of successive generations of fans,” Gibbons stated when asked about the band’s continued popularity. “The blues is the most human, most organic vehicle for creative expression, so by definition, if you love life, you love the blues. We're the beneficiaries of that nature-based certitude.” For fans who have been anxiously awaiting a follow-up to ZZ Top’s last studio release, 2012’s “La Futura,” they’ll be excited to hear that the group has returned to the studio and that “the tracks are cooking on the front burner.” To be safe, though, Gibbons said to expect the band to release new music sometime this decade. Something fans can look forward to in the near future, however, is the band’s heavily anticipated jukebox musical, “Sharp Dressed Man.” Gibbons said the script is ready to go, the parts have been cast and that the smart money is on a Las Vegas premiere sometime in 2020. Until then, fans can see ZZ Top performing inside The Venetian Theatre on March 20, 21, 25, 27 and 28 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $49.95 to $299.95, plus applicable fees. venetian.com D e s t i n at i o n ▪ l a s v e g a s

MUSTANGS OF MESA WILD HORSE VIEWING ALONG THE L OW E R S A LT R I V E R By Kate Wallace

Mesa visitors can now add wild horse viewing to their list of authentic experiences when traveling to Arizona’s third-largest city. Mesa shares a border with the Tonto National Forest, and within minutes guests can journey along the lower Salt River and catch a glimpse of this free-roaming herd.

The state’s historical records, dating back to the late 1890s, declared that the horses were native and on the adjacent Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community long before the

If guests are lucky enough to spot a horse or herd when they visit Mesa, they are advised to be respectful of the animals’ space and natural habitat. The management group advises keeping a distance of at least 50 feet and to always be aware of the surroundings when taking photographs. Wild horse spotters will want to time their visits to the early morning or at sunset for the best chance at viewing their activity. Often, the horses will emerge from the surrounding desert forest to cool off in the water and graze on the river’s underwater foliage. visitmesa.com

There are as many as 500 of these magnificent animals traversing the river’s edge, which merges into the shoreline at Saguaro Lake. The area is the closest Sonoran Desert playground for guests visiting Mesa, and the many recreation sites that dot the highway have always been a popular sight for birding, fishing and water recreation. In fact, the captivating presence of the wild horses is a common sight for kayakers and folks tubing down the river when the water is high.

National Forest was created in the early 1900s. Today, the wild horses are watched over by the tireless efforts of the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group, a non-profit dedicated to the freedom of the wild horses, which has allowed them to live and wander peacefully over the years. The group has been successful in developing horse crossings and managing the speed limit on the route to ensure the herd’s safety.

Allegiant’s CE Celebrities along with members of our KC Para Customer Experience Leadership Team (CELT)

A L L E G I A N T S P OT L I G H T

RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE Customer Experience Celebrities By Kerry McGee, Staff Writer

We strive to recognize our hardworking team members all year long, and we are proud to acknowledge those who went above and beyond to improve our customers’ overall Customer Experience (CX). Thirteen team members were recently recognized as CX Celebrities. Each of them (along with a guest) were invited to a fullcourse dinner and special presentation with our executives and board of directors at our headquarters in Las Vegas to celebrate their achievements. We are proud to share a few examples of why they are being honored: “I walked on the plane one morning and noticed Joy (Flight Attendant, Los Angeles) had a book in her hand. I asked what she was reading, and she said she was learning sign language because we have a regular customer who is unable to hear. The customer was so incredibly happy to have someone take the time to learn and be able to communicate with him.” “Paula (Customer Service Agent, TampaSt. Petersburg) went above and beyond in

assisting a single dad travelling with an infant who had missed his flight. She found alternate arrangements and then took her own personal time to see that the father and baby were taken care of. Paula also made sure that the baby had something to eat and that the dad had enough supplies for the night.” “A family traveling from Boston to California for a wedding temporarily lost their luggage. Erik (Stations Supervisor, Santa Maria) figured out that the luggage could get to another one of our locations. He went on a road trip to make sure the belongings got to the customers for their big day. It all worked out and was a great example of amazing customer service!” Our CX Celebrities are nominated by fellow team members, and these are just a few examples of how they went above what is required of them to help our customers have a great customer experience. We are so proud to be able to honor each of them for their dedication and passion to our customers and our business!

ALLEGIANT CARES

WINGS FOR AUTISM Ta k e s F l i g h t By Andrew Porrello

Every day, thousands of people pass through the gates of an airport, go through security and depart on their way to visit friends and family and to go on vacation. It’s a process that has become routine for many travelers, however, for some, the airport experience can be extremely nerve-wracking and overwhelming — especially for individuals with unique intellectual and developmental disabilities. This year, Allegiant, in partnership with The Arc of the United States, will continue to host Wings for Autism/Wings for All events around the country.

Photos courtesy of Allegiant

Wings for Autism/Wings for All is an airport “rehearsal” specially designed by The Arc for individuals with cognitive disabilities, their families and aviation professionals. We work collaboratively with The Arc, airport and TSA personnel to carry out each event and hope the trial flights help alleviate some of the stress that families who have a child on the spectrum often experience when traveling by air. During the event, participants check in to receive their boarding passes, pass through the TSA security checkpoint and wait in the boarding area to board an Allegiant airplane. The families are also given a presentation on the aircraft’s features, in-flight safety protocols and take-off procedures. The goal is to simulate the airport experience as closely as possible while also ensuring that all event participants are comfortable and understand that this is a safe learning environment. For that reason, we do not close the aircraft doors and the plane does not move — allowing participants who may not be as comfortable staying on the plane the opportunity to get off at any time. “Hosting the Wings for Autism/Wings for All events is part of our initiative to make travel more accessible for those facing medical challenges,” said Hilarie Grey, managing director of corporate communications. “Airports

and airplanes can be full of overstimulating variables, such as big crowds, bright lights and loud noises over the intercoms and when overhead bins are opened and closed. We are thrilled to partner with The Arc to break down barriers of travel and help families experience the vacations they dream of taking.” The Wings program is equally as important for our airport staff and flight crews and provides them with the opportunity to observe, interact and deliver their services in a structured learning environment — improving their disability competency and processes for accommodating ALL passengers who fly. We have seen firsthand the success of these events, and it always puts a smile on our team members’ faces when we hear of a family that was able to go on a trip because of their experience. Our partnership with The Arc of the United States has made a lasting impact in the lives of so many people who are now confident to travel by air. Customer safety is Allegiant ®’s first concern. Please be advised that interference with the duties of crew members, including flight attendants, is a violation of federal laws. Our crews are thoroughly trained in all safety procedures. To ensure your own safety, we hope you take a moment to review the safety information card located in the seat pocket in front of you. Be aware of the following:

• Location of the nearest emergency exit • Location of your emergency oxygen mask, if needed • Correct procedure for exiting the cabin in an emergency SEAT BELTS

Seat belts must be fastened ANY TIME the seat belt sign is on, during taxi, takeoff and landing. Once the seat belt sign is turned off, you may walk around the cabin. Due to unexpected turbulence, it is strongly recommended that you keep your seat belt fastened any time while in your seat. Allegiant’s exit seating policy does not allow the use of seat belt extensions in the exit seats due to tripping hazards.

Unlabeled seats or seats manufactured before Jan. 1, 1981, are not acceptable. Child restraint seats are to be placed into a window seat and secured with an aircraft seat belt.

PHOTOS & VIDEOS ONBOARD

The use of small cameras or mobile devices for photography and video is permitted onboard provided you keep the purpose of your photography and video to capturing personal events. Photographing or recording other customers or airline personnel without their express consent is prohibited. Airline personnel reserve the right to prohibit photos and videos onboard the aircraft if it becomes a disturbance to them or other passengers.
