Dave Kleinschnitz
SunSouth – Clanton set up a booth at the Chilton County Fair this year. Larry Simpson (sales) and Blake Shropshire (parts) worked the booth every night and had a great turn out. Two gators and a lawnmower were sold as a result of this effort. They gave out boiled peanuts and had a drawing for an Echo chainsaw. The winner of the chainsaw was Barry L. Crawford from Verbena. Clanton intends to make this an annual event as they had many inquiries and brought in many customers.
Congratulations to SunSouth's November-December employee of the month, Dave Kleinschnitz! Dave is a Salesman at the Dothan Location, and has been employed with SunSouth for 4 years! Since working at the store, Dave has become an asset to the Dothan store. He always takes pride in helping out wherever he can. He has proven that he is able to take charge whenever needed. Dave is dedicated to growing business at the Dothan Location, and being sure that every customer is satisfied with their “John Deere Experience”. Marc Holmes from SunSouth-Auburn participated as a judge for the turkey calling contest at the local Alabama Turfgrass Meeting. The Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation (ATRF) is a non-profit organization started by a group of dedicated turfgrass managers back in 1997 to secure funding for turfgrass research. SunSouth is a proud sponsor of their research!

Achievements in FFA Colby Hargrove, with the Cottondale Middle School FFA, won third place in the Artistic Arrangement Category at the FFA State Ornamental Horticulture Demonstration. He received his award in June, on stage at the State FFA convention in Orlando, FL. Colby is the son of David and Melissa Hargrove. David works in the parts dept, at SunSouth – Dothan.

2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups sugar 3/4 cup vegetable oil 3 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 cups shredded fresh pumpkin 1 cup toasted pumpkin seeds Directions Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Sift the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla. Combine both mixtures and fold in the shredded pumpkin and pumpkin seeds. Once the ingredients are all incorporated pour into a non- stick 9 by 5 by 3-inch loaf pan. If your pan is not non- stick coat it with butter and flour. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. At this point a knife inserted into the middle of the loaf should come out clean. Cool for 15 minutes and turn out onto a cooling rack. Cool completely. For muffins temperature should also be 325 degrees F., but bake for 30 minutes
