About Could it be the sparkling sunshine, the occasional refreshing shower, the gentle breeze or the tender loving care that we devote to our cuttings? Whatever the reason, Sundaville® will add summer to your garden, patio or balcony. And above all, it brings you happiness. It goes without saying that Sundaville® is a plant with beautiful flowers and it's a firm favorite with consumers because it flowers abundantly for so long and requires little care. But Sundaville® is much, much more. As the name suggests, Sundaville® conjures up that special summer feeling: happy, care-free, innocent times, enjoying hot days and sultry evenings in the garden, on the patio or the balcony. Sundaville® is an uncomplicated, unassuming and undemanding plant that brings you summer every day. So, it’s not just a pretty face: Sundaville® will make you smile. Maybe that's why consumers love Sundaville® so much. In any case, it’s why we, the Sundaville®
team, want to share the Sundaville® experience with everyone. That's why we say: Sundaville® brings you happiness! In 2003 Suntory Flowers Europe released a real revolution in the horticultural industry with Sundaville® Red, the first truly red Mandevilla, which has excellent branching and rich flowering. Sundaville® is a very strong plant for outdoor use in tubs and baskets. This Mandevilla needs very little water and gives an exuberant flower show all through the summer. It’s also a very low-maintenance, user-friendly plant for every consumer. Many have tried and are still trying but none have managed to copy the appearance and perfect qualities of Sundaville®. We are very proud of our achievements and since there can only be one true Sundville®, we have produced a certificate of authenticity. Always buy the one and only Sundaville®, the No.1 Mandevilla (Dipladenia) on the market. Sundaville® varieties provide you with an extended flowering season and require very little maintenance.
www.sundaville.com
Identity The introduction of the Sundaville® Apricot, Beauty Soft Peach and Mini Scarlet prompted the marketing department of MNP to make some changes and improvements to the Sundaville® brand, in order to incorporate modern standards of design and update its image. We have taken more appealing pictures of our plants, created a new logo, written new texts, developed new designs and, most importantly, introduced successful new Sundaville® varieties. The official Sundaville® branding is specially designed to tell you the full story of the Sundaville® brand and inform you of the feelings it evokes and its special characteristics. These days consumers want more! They want a special design, more background information, more involvement with the product (customer experience) and, most importantly, they wish to create a sea of flowers and long lasting plants in their own garden which doen’t need much care and offer excellent value for money.
All these things add extra value to the plant (brand) and can be achieved through official branding. For example, the official branded labels make the plants more visible and recognisable on the shop floor. They provide more information and tell a clearer story about the positive and distinctive characteristics of the species as compared to its competitors. This encourages consumers to return and buy the same brand – Sundaville® – again! Ultimately, more plants are sold and everybody in the (supply) chain will benefit. We will not be keeping these designs and this new information to ourselves. Instead, we plan to share them with all our partners which means our customers (licensees, growers, garden centres, etc.) can profit equally. The goal is not only to sell more plants but also to keep costs low, make a better and more reliable impression on the end consumer and stay ahead of the competition.

Bohemian style Mission “To bring a little love and sun in people hearts and summer in there minds.” Vision: “Brings you happiness. We want to help to create a care-free place where people can enjoy, relax and dream of long lasting and endless summers. Enjoying hot days and sultry evenings with their precious family.” When you think about Sundaville®, you think of the shinning sun, happiness and freedom. You feel the warmth on your skin as you stroll through the streets of atmospheric old Ibiza city in your white linen clothes. That’s the feeling you’ll experience with Sundaville®.
Brings you happiness The appearance of the Sundaville® brand is designed around the bohemian style. This style of life fits perfectly with what Sundaville® radiates and what it wants to do. Dream, discover the world, enjoy nature and everything it gives you. Decorate yourself with cheerful clothing and bright and colourful flowers, the Sundaville®. Life is a party! When you think of the bohemian style, you quickly think of Ibiza, hippies, dream catchers, lots of colour and the feeling of freedom. These aspects are reflected in all graphic elements and images that we use for Sundaville®. To ensure the high standards of the brand, we only add new plants to the Sundaville® collection when they have the same qualities and match the bohemian style as the other varieties.
The brand fits well with what the plant radiates, it sounds cheerful and warm. That’s Sundaville®! In addition, the playfulness of the plant can be seen in the playful letters in the logo that differ in height.

10 reasons why Sundaville® is a special plant and has many advantages over its competitors. Sundaville® is rain resistant and also very suitable for colder climates such as in Northern Europe and Scandinavia. This is not always clear because there are many misunderstandings that Sundaville® would only be suitable for warmer climates. This is incorrect. Sundaville® is a plant with broad possibilities and is also very sun-resistant in addition to rain-resistant. Sundaville® plants have a long shelf life, are very floriferous, produce the most intense colours and are also very colourfast and stable. In addition, this plant is easy to care for. Sundaville® is a valuable plant because it’s a labour-intensive and exclusive plant to produce. It’s an relatively exclusive plant to produce for growers because of the few plants per square meter (m²) that can be grown and it’s labour intensive because of the trellis and pyramids who have to be made for bigger plants. etc.

Up... A new kind of SundavilleŽ range is born. These unique ultra bright ashy star-shaped flowers are a real breakthrough in Mandevilla breeding. Also, its unique plant shape is very different from normal Mandevilla. It grows upwards and due to its very good branching, it looks like an Orchid (Phalaenopsis) with multiple upright bunches of flowers on one stem. It is good in mother stock production and in propagation. The above allows easy production of small plants without support or with pyramids for bigger pot sizes. Last but not least, it has very strong (re)flowering power which therefore makes it a unique gift product. More colours are coming soon‌

Cultivation 48
Sundaville® Mandevilla makes an ideal conservatory and outdoor summer patio plant. Sundaville® varieties can be planted in tubs, window boxes or hanging baskets. Mandevilla is the name of a genus which is also known as Dipladenia. It stands for a climbing plant which is classified as a tender perennial, so it will require frost protection in temperate climates. Mandevilla are native to Central and South America and are tolerant to heat as well as cool northern European conditions. GROWING INSTRUCTIONS - PLANT CARE After purchasing your plug plants, carefully remove any packaging and allow the plants to acclimatise for 24 hours by placing them in a light position but out of direct sunlight. Check whether they need watering. They are likely to need some water before potting (never pot up a dry plant). You can water from underneath the plant or overhead, but ensure that the whole root ball is moist. After 24 hours, transfer the plant into a 9 – 10 cm pot (maximum size), using any universal or standard potting mix. Avoid loam-based compost as the mix needs to be free draining. First, fill the pot with compost to the top. Then, make a hole in the centre with your fingers and insert the plug. The top of the plug needs to be at the same level as the top of the compost. Don’t bury parts of the stem or foliage as they may rot.
Water plants thoroughly after potting, then place them in a nice bright position – window, conservatory, greenhouse, etc. Allow the root ball to dry out between watering for the first 2-3 weeks. They can be kept moister once the roots have run to the edge of the pot. Feed after 2-3 weeks with a standard feed, such as Baby Bio®, Phostrogen, etc. After about 7-10 weeks transfer the plant into a larger pot. POTTING ON Always pot on into a pot which is up to 5 cm larger than the previous one. This is usually necessary once a year, in the spring. Use a free-draining potting compost. You can add a slow-release fertiliser such as Osmocote® to provide long-lasting feed levels. We recommend that Sundaville® is kept in a container as this allows you to move the plant indoors for protection against severe weather and low temperatures. After potting on the plant will need a support system, either bamboo canes or a trellis of some type - all of which will be available from your local garden centre - or you can opt for a trailing habit by using a hanging basket. Again, ensure that the plant is moist before potting on. Water immediately after potting on, then allow to dry out between watering for the first 2-3 weeks.
www.sundaville.com
POSITION Sundaville® plants can be grown in full sun or partial shade. When grown indoors, they will thrive if they are given as much natural light as possible. Light levels are important to repeat flowering in the following year. In the United Kingdom for example, the plants will flower until Christmas if they are given the correct indoor conditions. If your plant is outside, please bring it indoors before the first frosts and place in a well lit, frost-free area. A heated greenhouse, protected porch, or conservatory (cold or heated) is ideal. HEIGHT CONTROL If you want to control the height of your Sundaville® plants, pinching them to acquire the correct shape is recommended. Be aware that if you pinch hard at every shoot you will remove the flower buds which appear at the leaf joints at approx. every 2-5 pairs of leaves. Always identify the flower buds first before pinching! To support the climbing shoots, you can train them up a trellis or similar support system. WATERING & WINTER CARE Sundaville® plants are tolerant of wet or dry conditions in the summer and can safely go without water for a week or more if
necessary. Regular watering in the summer, allowing the root ball to dry out between watering, is ideal. Feed at least once a week with tomato feed, for example, if you have not added a slow-release fertiliser to the compost. It’s really important to avoid overwatering! From early November onwards, dry the root ball out completely, especially if it is being overwintered in a cold environment. Water lightly about once a month until the weather and light conditions improve in the spring, around late February to early March. By then, the compost should be so dry that it appears dusty. Plants overwintered this way very rarely wilt. Move your Sundaville® plants outside as soon as the danger of frost has passed. Make sure to harden the plants off and gradually adapt them to a full sunny spot either on your terrace, balcony or patio. Pot on into a larger container if required. DISCLAIMER The information above has been compiled with maximum care and is based on our current knowledge. MNP flowers is not responsible for the consequences of use or misuse of the above information. About us
Our four core activities The business of MNP flowers can broadly be divided into four core activities.
58
1. Testing & selection Each year MNP flowers selects and tests new and innovative varieties in close consultation with Suntory速 Flowers Ltd. The breeding of the plants takes place in Japan, Vietnam and Australia, where an extensive team of professionals works passionately together to create perfect plants for every garden and balcony worldwide. Thereafter, the quality and selection specialists of MNP flowers select the plants and varieties that are suited best to the European market of today. With a clear vision, profound insight and common sense, they test the selected novelties extensively at several testing locations. Requirements that need to be met by our novelties are earliness, sturdiness, floriferousness, weather resistance, colour consistency, growth and more. 2. Building brands After the final selection, the specialists decide which varieties will be introduced and which will be either retested or dismissed. This is the point where we start building brands! The marketing department is the creative heart of our organization. To perfectly position new products into the market, a specified market research is conducted to identify the end consumer of each novelty and his or her corresponding preferences. Thereafter, the product name and brand design is discussed and created in several intensive brainstorm sessions. We develop a brand story, a brand logo, labels,
pots, leaflets and an online platform, to present the brand in every way. Now the product is ready to be marketed! 3. Introduction, sales and licensing The most important activity is bringing our new varieties (novelties) to the professional market. MNP flowers introduces new varieties three times a year: during the IPM, the FlowerTrials速 and the FloraHolland Trade Fair. Consequently, there is always a reason to visit MNP flowers, both on location and during exhibitions. During a visit, business partners can express their interest in a new product and decide whether they want to run trials or to add the introduction to their assortment straightaway. To take up a new variety, a small license fee has to be paid for every Suntory速 plant that is sold. MNP flowers compensate for this fee by creating free marketing concepts, arranging free publicity and PR, safeguarding plant quality, future breeding activities, etc. for its partners. Hence, plants of MNP flowers are protected by trademark and plant variety rights. 4. Monitoring and support At MNP flowers we are happy to guide, advise and provide our business partners in all the support they need. Therefore, we work closely together with our licensees. We visit them as much as possible, not only to consult them about propagating and growing specific Suntory速 varieties, but also to listen and learn from their experiences in the field. This means, we can benefit from each other and establish a continuous growth and improvement of our business and breeding strategy every year.
Our brands
www.mnpflowers.com
The champions of tomorrow, today Since 1989, MNP flowers have managed the European rights, and is the master licensee, for all (future) products of the Japanese breeder Suntory® Flowers Ltd. Each year we select and introduce new and innovative varieties in close consultation with Suntory®. Above you will find a selection of our major brands. MNP flowers is widely acknowledged for introducing innovative, high quality and successful bedding plants into the European ornamental plant sector. We have built one of the strongest portfolios in the ornamental plant industry with numerous successful brands that are among the world’s best-known plants. Every year, we carefully select and test new discoveries before introducing them to the market. Furthermore, we improve and enrich our existing brands with new shapes and colours to meet with current consumer desires and new trends. We work closely with our licensees (propagators) and growers to make sure our products are always available and properly displayed, in all channels from exporters to retailers and wholesalers. Hence, we use multiple platforms to effectively market our products, from events to social media. Consequently, we ensure that the Suntory® genetics are always on top of consumers’ minds. Mission: “To contribute in creating a beautiful and healthy environment where people, flora and fauna can flourish.” Vision: “Quality is the key. We want to grow plants that give people value for money. We innovate, enrich and improve our products continuously, but also each individual by learning and being challenged every day.”
