CHICAGO DENVER SALT LAKE CITY SUN VALLEY SEATTLE SAN FRANCISCO LOS ANGELESThe line between work and play gets a little blurry in Sun Valley, Idaho— that tends to happen when you combine a business gathering with our award-winning summer activities in and around the resort.
The 20,000-square-foot spa, fitness center, and poolside café have everything you need to stay relaxed and rejuvenated throughout your stay. We also boast 45 holes of golf, over 400 miles of singletrack mountain biking and hiking trails, 18 local art galleries, and regular Saturday night ice shows, featuring the biggest names on the Olympic skating circuit. The Sun Valley Pavilion, an architectural landmark of the West, has become the area’s cultural epicenter and “a music pavilion for the ages." If you come for the summer, be sure to check out some of its featured musical events, like the Sun Valley Music Festival and Sun Valley Center for the Arts Summer Concert Series.
Sun Valley is a four-season resort that enjoys an incredible 280 days of sunshine per year. Summers are mild, with daytime temperatures averaging 77⁰, and in the winter, the snow is light and dry with sunny skies. The fall boasts vibrant gold and red hues, and in the spring the hills turn green and bloom with wildflowers.
Sun Valley is located in the high mountain desert of south-central Idaho, tucked 5,853 feet up in the Rocky Mountains. The local communities of Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey, and Bellevue combine to create the Wood River Valley—a total population of 21,500 residents.
Sun Valley is world-renown as a skier’s paradise, with over 3,400 vertical feet of consistent pitch, 2,000 acres of varied terrain, 55 acres of powdery tree skiing, gondola access, sunny skies, and virtually no lift lines. The adjacent Dollar Mountain has gentler slopes, perfect for ski lessons for the whole family, along with newly-designed flow-style terrain parks. Sun Valley’s lesser known winter attractions include 200+ km of groomed cross-country trails, six cozy ski lodges with breathtaking 360 0 views, and a charming European-style village that comes alive in the winter. Guests can enjoy an indoor and outdoor ice rink (open yearround), sleigh rides, heated swimming pools, a retro-style bowling alley, movie theater, and outstanding gourmet restaurants, all within a short walk. Don't miss our quaint shops filled with souvenirs, fine art, jewelry, and fashion.
Founded in 1936 by Union Pacific tycoon Averell Harriman, Sun Valley was America’s first destination ski resort.

Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a casual bite with business associates, Sun Valley’s dining options are as diverse as they are delicious. With over 20 restaurants on and off the mountain—from the casual new Village Station public house to the elegantly-remodeled Ram restaurant—we have every kind of dining option to tantalize the tastebuds. Stop by the Austrian-inspired Konditorei for breakfast, with fresh-baked pastries and locally-roasted coffee or, for a truly postcard-worthy experience, take the gondola up Bald Mountain to the historic Roundhouse lodge, perched 7,700 feet above the valley below. In the winter, opt for a horse-drawn sleigh ride under the stars to the cozy and rustic charm of Trail Creek Cabin. We also offer six mountain lodges with salads, soups, grills, pizza, sandwiches and bars to keep you going on the slopes all day long.
The Warm Springs Lodge at the base of Bald Mountain, first built in 1992, was Sun Valley’s original luxury ski lodge. In April of 2018, a fire destroyed the roof and interior of the lodge, but Sun Valley Resort has since recreated a new-and-improved day lodge, including revamped food court with state-of-the-art kitchen and expanded indoor seating.
Sun Valley’s original restaurant, The Ram has been warming and welcoming diners since 1937. This rustic-yet-elegant dinner house has been recently modernized with a 2017 remodel, while still preserving its historic charm.
