The Wells Film Centre was established in 1992 by Derek Cooper. Originally a village hall and scout hut, Derek built the cinema up from a single screen to the three state-of-the-art digital screens it now houses. In the last couple of years, Derek has passed the management of the Wells Film Centre over to his daughters Sally, Becky and Libby, who share Derek’s passion for film and will ensure that the Wells Film Centre remains a family business that the whole community can enjoy. he first film from British director Christopher Nolan since 2014’s Interstellar, Dunkirk focuses on the dramatic rescue of over 300,000 Allied troops from the beaches of France during World War II. What was literally seen as a pivotal

moment in the War, German forces were surrounding the troops, who were facing execution or capture. Although many felt the plan to be doomed, Churchill pushed ahead, and over eight days in 1940, over 800 boats rescued the soldiers from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk. The film focuses on three areas of the rescue: the infantry on the beach (including a debut performance from Harry Styles), the Navy (Cillian Murphy and Mark Rylance) and in the air (Tom Hardy). Dunkirk is a stunning film that perfectly captures the struggles and drama of the rescue.

FILM FACTS 1,500 extras, a crane and a Spitfire were used to recreate the miraculous evacuation of 333,000 Allied troops. Cardboard cutouts are used for distant crowd scenes to cut down on the amount of CGI needed to make the film.

According to Snowbrains.com the average person takes around 7,500 steps a day, and if you have a device that counts your steps, yours may be 10,000 or more. Based on the 7,500 figure, that would mean you would do 216,262,500 steps up to 80 years of age –which is 110,000 miles! A whole lot of walking. The foot is very strong and flexible, and is made up of 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. The function of our feet is to provide support, balance, shock absorption, flexibility and adaptability and locomotion. The foot also has three arches which play a key role in the function shock absorption, support and flexibility.
