he Despicable Me film franchise launched back in 2010, and although the first film was good, it was the sequel, released in 2013, that really put the series on the map – mainly because the directors wisely decided to make the hilarious Minions centre stage.

Now, four years later, we have the third Despicable Me film and in this one Gru faces off against Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who has grown up to become obsessed with the character that he played in the 1980s. He also gets into some sibling rivalry when he meets his long-lost charming, cheerful, and more successful twin brother Dru, who wants to team up with him for one last criminal heist to steal the diamond that Bratt has stolen. There are also plenty of Minions scenes too, and they’re as hilarious as ever! Despicable Me 3 is possibly the best family film you’ll see all summer.

FILM FACTS Steve Carell said that Despicable Me 3 may be his last film as the voice of Gru. But he did say he’d be happy to do a Gru cameo in future Minions sequels. The mother of Gru’s adopted kids, Margo, Edith and Agnes, is rumoured to be in the film, too.

SENSE STYLIST GETS ON HER BIKE TO RAISE £1,000 FOR GREAT CAUSE
A
ll the staff and customers at the Sense salon in Coxley wanted to let one of their star stylists know how proud they all are of her. Lindsay Grantham recently undertook a 40-mile charity cycle ride for the charity My New Hair, and when all the cash was added up, Lindsay had raise a staggering £1,000 for this brilliant cause. By her own admission, Lindsay hadn’t cycled for a while, so undertaking a ride of this length was quite a challenge. Luckily her determination and hard work paid off, and she zipped through the 40 miles in a stunning time. The team at Sense all got behind Lindsay, and in the week running up to her ride, every team member was offering a File and Polish or Blow Dry in return for a donation. They also hosted cake sales, too.
My New Hair is the new charity founded by Trevor Sorbie MBE. Their aim is to provide public advice and support to a national network of salons who provide wig styling for people suffering from cancer and medical hair loss. As you can imagine, this is a time when people need sensitive support and guidance and just want to look their best. Luckily, My New Hair can help them, with the support of fundraisers like Lindsay! For more information on My New Hair, head to www.mynewhair.org.
