This game consists in keeping in the air a tennis ball using wooden paddles to hit it.  It can be played by 2-3-4 or 5 players at the same time. This is the most interesting characteristic in this game.  It used to be played in the beach, and it is very popular in Santander.  It is a COOPERATIVE GAME: the players play together to keep the rally. 


    

It is not a competitive game Nobody win or lose It is fun! The only rule is “don´t let the ball fall down” There are two roles in that game: › There is an “STOPPER” (parador): who plays close

to a wall and who has to stop the ball and return it in a good position to be hit again. › There is a “HITTER” (pegador): opposite to the “stopper” who has to hit the ball.


THE PADDLE: is used a wooden paddle: › Long (515 mm) › Wide (235 mm) › Heigth (670-690 gr)

 

THE BALL: is used a tennis ball THE COURT: is played in the beach (no court, no lines)


GRIP: the wide side of the paddle handle in the base of the hand. Fingers closing together and holding hard. BASIC POSITION: › › › › ›
