Set on half an acre and enjoying amazing ocean views along the beach to Eastern View and Lorne, is one of Fairhaven’s largest and most practical residences. Presented in excellent condition, the residence is ideal for a family who enjoys their space and likes the ability for family members and guests to have their own areas. Everything about this property is large. The massive, main open plan living area opens onto a sundeck with glass surrounds and both enjoy the wonderful ocean and breaking surf views. The modern kitchen and dining areas are on a split level adjoining the living area, this is again generously sized. Both of these areas are enhanced by the polished Jarrah floor boards and painted white ceilings, providing a true modern coastal feel. There is a full parent’s retreat that includes a master bedroom, ensuite and separate parents lounge. Three more bedrooms provide ample accommodation with two of these on the lower level adjoining a big rumpus area which is ideal for children. There are two more bathrooms to service the accommodation. Externally the allotment is quite native so the maintenance is low. A fantastic deck area has been built at ground level for outdoor entertaining that includes a Bocce pitch. Overall a stunning coastal home and inspection may take a while but it will not disappoint. • Set on half an acre and enjoying amazing ocean views • Four bedrooms and three bathrooms over four levels • Separate parents retreat including parents lounge • Three living areas plus large external ground level deck Inspection: By appointment greatoceanproperties, Anglesea Agent: Contact: Marty Maher 0419 505 279 or Mim Atkinson 0408 912 533

Road users asked to exercise extra care through the holidays in a bid to stop tragic loss of lives on our roads

BY NATHAN HALE LOCAL authorities along the Surf Coast have implored road users to exercise extra caution this holiday season. In the wake of two tragic accidents which have seen cyclist killed in the past month, police are begging motorists to slow down as the shire prepares for its annual influx of visitors. The Surf Coast population of approximately 27,000 is expected to triple over the next four weeks – spelling busy roads not only on the highways, but also in and around towns. “In light of the recent tragedies involving cyclists,

we ask people to take extra care, particularly over this summer period when there are a lot more vehicles and bicycles on the road, said Brian McKiterick, officer in charge of Torquay Police. “Traffic will dramatically increase over the coming weeks, especially on holiday weekends, and we just ask that all road users be aware. “It is just a matter of people concentrating when they are out on the road and taking extra care. The warnings come after two incidents involving collisions between vehicles and bicycles have left two men dead. Former school teacher Ron Thompson was killed on Anglesea Road when he collided with a truck,

while Geelong identity Rex Sizeland died after colliding with a car on Breamlea Road last week. Liberal candidate for Corangamite, Sarah Henderson, called for all road users to “respect the roadsâ€?. “This is a very important time to take extra care with many people often travelling long distances to see family and friends. A life can be lost in a moment ‌ so slow down and drive with caution. Respecting each and every road user is critical,â€? she said. Owner of Torquay Cycling Factory, Lorenzo Moro, said the region is packed with cyclists and that both sets of road users needed to show courtesy. Moro said there needs to be more of a relationship

between road users, rather than an ‘us against them’ mentality. “It goes for both sides (cyclists and vehicles),â€? he said. “People who use the road need to be courteous to one another – just as they would if they walked past each other in the street. “Everyone just needs to show a bit more respect to each other‌ remember, a cyclist is somebody’s mother, father, brother, sister or son or daughter. Moro said key tips to ensure good cycling manners included: being courteous to drivers; not making erratic movements and keeping to the left of the road; always signaling at intersections and looking at the face of a driver to make sure they have seen you.
