technoforce d2 by teijin
Teijin is the world’s leading supplier for polyester fabrics and sail materials for all kinds of marine sports. We use the remarkably durable Teijin Dacron for our leading edge, struts, wingtips and the trailing edge and wherever high tension or an applied load is found. Technoforce D2 is used for our canopy. Technoforce D2 was an exclusive development for North Kiteboarding, which has proven its superiority in durability and dynamics since we started using it.
it can be connected directly to the bayonet insert of the hose. The valve is suitable for both, inflation and deflation. The deflation option is integrated, which means no external deflation pin is required. Deflation is simply activated by turning the blue wheel on the inside of the valve completely to the right. P L EASE NOTE :
Always deflate via the inflation valve (Air Port Valve) first, before opening the dump valve. This procedure will prevent unwanted twisting of the valve.
L a z y Pu m p Lines by Teufelberger
Teufelberger is a leading supplier for ropes, ranging from climbing, sailing and paragliding to specialized ropes for kitesurfing. North Kiteboarding uses Teufelberger products for lines and bridles.
The Lazy Pump system enables the inflation of the kite from just one valve. Clips close off struts from leading edge to prevent unwanted airflow in case of damage or simply to only deflate the leading edge.
A short sizzling noise, which is a very small amount of air escaping from the interspace of the valve, when taking off the bayonet fitting is normal. The valve enables fatigue-proof inflation due to the bigger air passage. Even bigger kites will be inflated within seconds!

technoforce d2 teijin Key benefits
INTRO
For more than 6 years North Kiteboarding has been employing Technoforce D2 on all the kites in the range. Our team has been continuously testing several other fabrics but the bottom line was – there is no better choice

Step 1 - Coating of the single yarn
› Higher diagonal stiffness than normal canopy
materials. › Higher performance: the stiffer overall structure
stabilizes the kite and makes it faster. › Crisp and very direct response to steering input.
Due to the dynamic pressure forces on kites, the stiffness of a kite is immensely important in relation to the flying characteristics of a kite.
Step 2 - Weaving of the coated single yarns to one fabric
o n e o f t h e m a i n fac to r s f o r ag e i n g o f k i t e s i s uv l i g h t
UV light strongly influences the ageing of the kite. Exposing your kite for too long to UV light can reduce the crisp steering and flying feeling – sometimes within days. D o u b l e c o at i n g
Step 3 - Coating of the whole canopy material
Due to the Double-Coating of D2, the material stays crisp for longer. The unique coating procedure is not just protecting the final canopy, but every single yarn is coated before the final weaving process and therefore every single yarn is protected additionally. Even if the coating comes off the first layer, the yarns themselves stay coated! Not just protected from the sun, but also from salt crystals, sand, small stones and other sharp objects.
However, the kite canopy material stays a delicate fabric. Fins and sharp objects can cause small scratches when being used for securing the kite on the ground. These may appear harmless, but can destroy the kite during the next session when forces impact the canopy.

Every kite we design is aimed at a specific type of rider and certain styles of riding. We constantly optimise the attributes of each kite to excel in certain areas that we feel will benefit our riders. To help you discover where you fit in with our product range, and to help you decide which kite best suits your style of riding we have designed a compass that segments different riding styles. The compass will help you to see where each kite excels and which kite is best for you.

Freestyle is all about hooked in kite-supported jumping. This involves all kind of tricks from Big Airs, Board Offs, Kiteloops and Transitions. ---
Most common riding style. It describes the riding ability of a kite for cruising around.
A combination of surfing and kiteboarding preferably on a directional board.
Combines characteristics that are essential for newcomers to kiteboarding.
Racing focuses on riding at high speed on a competition course.

Pop Un h ooke d Aggressive power development during take off to catapult the rider out of the water towards the kite (whilst being unhooked).
Ste e r ing p re c i s i o n Very direct and precise steering input and kite feedback.
Low e n d The power a kite can develop at the lowest end of its wind range. It tells you how well a kite will fly if there is not much wind.
Reactive ste e r ing Describes the characteristic that a kite reacts instantaneously to the riders input.
St abil ity in the air A kite that behaves predictable even in un-steady winds and gusts.
Spe e d Maximum power and optimal control over the kite at high speed.
Power releas e d e l ay Kite loses power once the rider has popped and is airborne (this makes it easier to execute tricks like a handle pass).
Kite l oops A kites ability to do kiteloops.
To p e n d The kites ability to still perform consistently at the top end of its wind range.
Ste e r ing w he n de powe re d Ability to steer the kite even when the bar is pushed away (sheeted out).
Wate r re l aunch The ability to launch the kite easily from the water.

Trave l abil ity Kite “drifts” with the wind while surfing a wave.
Ha ngtime Ability to keep the rider in the air during a jump.
S h e et a n d go The ability to create power by sheeting in (pulling the bar towards you) without moving the kite. Upw i n d p e r fo rm a n ce A kites ability to ride at a tight angle into the wind.

the track A system that allows a wide range of adjustments as well as quick and easy mounting of the footpads without having a negative influence on the boards flex and weight. This is ‘The Track’. The Track system features two ultrasonic welded tracks made of fibreglass reinforced plastic that are laminated into our boards in the production process. The Tracks are then CNC milled out of the finished board. The Track Nuts provide the connection to the Footpad. The Track Nuts are made of non-corrosive brass and can be freely moved along the track to both sides. This system offers a whole range of possibilities to mount our footpads. One particular advantage is that the flexible tracks do not interfere with the fine-tuned flex of our boards.

When you are racing at the front of the fleet you need a board that offers the ultimate in control. That is the focus of the design process; control at high speeds, control when jibing and control on all points of sail. By adding a convex shape to the front section of the nose, harsh blows from chop are now softened and stability at high speed has been improved. In addition the centre rocker line remains the same while the rail rocker has been increased, this again improves stability and enhances the performance when jibing. The wide point has been moved a little further forward to increase control and early planing. The cut outs at the back relieve pressure from the riders legs and free up the board, with less stiction to the water giving it unrivalled top end speed. All of this adds up to a board that is easier to ride and leaves the rider less fatigued. The North Kiteboarding Raceboard will be at the front of the fleet; will you be there with it?
