EMQ

DESIGNS FOR SURFERS, MADE FOR SURFING.

TLPC takes this performance to the next level combining our proprietary water resistant, fused cell foam core, high density thermoformed inner skin, layers of hand laid fiberglass, carbon fiber and epoxy resin to create a technologically superior board. The result is a board that is significantly lighter and more durable than the traditional polyurethane board. The combination of materials and advanced engineering creates a board with controlled dynamic flex (CDF), resulting in a board that performs better in every kind of condition and is responsive, faster and more agile than its traditional counterpart.

THE TLPC BENEFIT

STRENGTH, DURABILITY & PERFORMANCE TLPC is lightweight yet extremely durable with no fatigue or degradation over time. This means your board will retain that new board feel longer than a traditional poly board and perform consistently over time without losing its magic, making it the perfect addition to any quiver and the ultimate travel companion.

The new TLPC collection represents a collaboration between Surftech and the world’s best shapers, designers and craftsmen for a collection of boards like no other.

HIGH-5 TLPC | FUTURES | 5 FIN

Since 1969, Channel Islands Surfboards has been dedicated to performance, quality and innovation making the boards that continually redefine performance surfing. For 43 of those years, master shaper Al Merrick has been building boards for the world’s best under the Channel Islands label. Iconic surfers like 3x Word Champ Tom Curren, 11x World Champion Kelly Slater, international super star Dane Reynolds and WQS champion Jordy Smith all depend on CI for their equipment and competitive success. This season we present 5 of their most proven shapes.

Designed to be a quicker and more nimble offspring of the Average Joe, the High-5 will pad your wave count while still allowing for rail work and section making. The bottom is single concave entry to deep double through the fins, terminating in a deep concave “V” off the tail. The High-5 comes stock with 5 fin boxes and can be ridden as a quad or thruster.

NEW FLYER TLPC | FUTURES | 5 FIN

AVERAGE JOE TLPC | FUTURES | 5 FIN

In 1999, Al Merrick designed the Flyer, revolutionizing high performance surfing in small waves. For 2015, Channel Islands modernized the Flyer into a shorter, wider package. This new plan-shape allows for similar volume in a shorter rail line. We kept the forgiving 2-stage rocker and signature Merrick hips while adding spiral “V” starting in front of the fins to allow for quick transitions rail to rail.

Sometimes we want something simple, fun and easy to ride. With a light, single concave for the first third of the board and deepening throughout, the Average Joe can be surfed off the rail or tail. Full rails keep high volume in a short outline. Increase wave count, make more sections. The Average Joe is geared towards the things that makes surfing fun. Available in a full range of sizes.

BISCUIT TLPC | FCS | TRI FIN

WATER HOG TLPC | FCS | TRI FIN

Short, stubby, tri-fin. The Channel Islands Biscuit was developed with Rob Machado. Like Rob, the Biscuit rides free and easy in the smallest surf and catches waves like a board that’s a foot longer.

A good wave catcher, this mini-longboard bridges the gap between the a performance hybrid and a longboard. It has low entry rocker for trimming and enough tail rocker to stay high performance. Bottom goes from flat entry with concave, to vee out the tail. For surfers of all skill levels who want to ride a ton of waves without riding a longboard.

CARVER TLPC | FCS II | TRI FIN

FIREBALL EVO II TLPC | FCS II | 2 + 1

Loose and lively off the tail, the Carver is the staple in the McTavish midlength range. Versatile in all conditions for any level of rider, the reliable bottom contour incorporates a single to double concave from front to back, which excels in medium to large waves. The board shape features a 3-stage rocker, rounded squared pintail, and boxy 60/40 rails.

The ultimate “go-to” longboard in the McTavish lineup, the Fireball Evo II is more slanted towards performance surfing with a leaner nose, 3-stage rocker profile, narrower rounded pin tail, and 60/40 rails. With a single-concave nose to double-concave tail and slight beveling, this board stays loose in the pocket and provides a stable ride on the nose.

PERFORMANCE TLPC | FUTURES | 2 + 1

Born in 1977 out of one of surf cinema’s most iconic films, ‘Big Wednesday’, the Bear Surfboards brand represents the inspirational landscape and lifestyle that was the Malibu surf scene in the 1960s and 70s when “boards were made of wood and men were made of iron”. First shaped by Kauai shaping icon Billy Hamilton, then joined by the North Shore’s Randy Rarick, the Bear reputation for quality and excellence quickly grew until the Bear name was worldwide. Surftech is proud to share this reputation and continued demand for the highest in quality in design and surfboard construction with Bear, and to build four of Billy and Randy’s most popular models in our latest and most innovative TLPC construction technology.

This board goes well in anything but the Performance will really start to shine in long, peeling waves. It works best for point breaks and grinding beach breaks. Built in Surftech’s latest TLPC construction, this model is light yet incredibly durable.

Son of the legendary lifeguard “Blackie” August, Robert grew up with saltwater in his veins and surfing in his DNA. His smooth, effortless style made him a natural choice to be paired with Mike Hynson in Bruce Brown’s 1963 round-the-world surf epoch, Endless Summer. Much like his clean board designs and flowing, uncomplicated surfing style, the Robert August brand is symbolic of the surfing lifestyle and its authentic heritage. Surftech is honored to partner with ‘RA’, pairing his classic ‘What I Ride’ shape and the August brand of authenticity and heritage with our best-in-industry TLPC construction and commitment to Quality, Consistency and Satisfaction.
