Friday Fridge Notes January 7, 2011 Announcements

We want to welcome eleventh-grader Genny Glick to The Gailer School. She is a friend of former student Hope Romagnoli and has come to Middlebury from Virginia. We are so glad you are here, Genny! At 4PM on Tuesday, January 11th, there is a meeting of all families that are participating in the International Trip to Spain at Carol’s Hungry Mind. Among other things, we will be discussing the trip itinerary. PLEASE BE THERE if you and/or your child is going on the trip!! Our school scientist, Nate Newman, has already received 3 plants in response to his request for plant donations for his class. He is particularly interested in ferns, gymnosperms such as conifers, cycads and ginkgos, and flowering monocots, such as bamboo, lilies and orchids. Any plants that you would like to donate would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! A reminder to the parents of students who are taking the cooking class: the fee for ingredients is $25 per student. Please make out your checks to The Gailer School and send them in to Kitty. Thanks! Monday, January 17th, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Democracy Day at The Gailer School. Community Service presentations will be given by students. They will display and demonstrate their learning through speaking, visual presentations and writing. Please contact the student’s advisor if you have any questions. Festivities begin at 9AM and parents and friends are encouraged to attend. A more detailed schedule is forthcoming. Monday, the 24th of January, is an In-service Day for the Gailer faculty and staff. There are no classes for students that day. .
