The school is constantly looking towards the future, with plans to build more state-of-the-art structures like the high school building.

As one parent said, “My daughter has been attending this summer school program and has thoroughly enjoyed it. She has made a lot of friends and finds the teachers to be fun and engaging, as well as easy to learn from. She will be starting regular school next year and we have very high hopes.”

With the growing popularity of STEAM programs in schools, many parents are turning to technology camps to keep their students entertained and engaged during summer months. CodeREV Kids is one of Southern California’s fastest growing tech camps, and according to Founder Evan Boorman, offers the only standards-aligned summer tech program that focuses on math and science. Evan explained, “I started CodeREV to answer the question so many students have: ‘Why? Why should I learn math, science, or engineering?’ In our project-based classes and curriculum, students automatically answer these questions for themselves, since they need to learn these topic areas to create the fun and amazing projects they build and code in camp.”

CodeREV offers a variety of classes for kids ages 6 to 16 to appeal to all technology-based interests. Its MathCraft program uses the popular video game Minecraft to teach math, and its Adventures in Programming class covers 3D game design. Its most popular option, Minecraft Level Design & Engineering, applies STEAM concepts to building amazing contraptions inside Minecraft. With a total of 10 different classes to choose from, there is something for everyone at CodeREV.

Evan has been teaching STEAM for 17 years, has created education software, and has started education technology companies. Evan’s partner, Chief Education Innovation Officer John Stuppy, Ph.D., holds a Master’s degree in Education Technology from Stanford and a Ph.D. in Education Reform from UCLA, and has been teaching and creating curriculum for coding aligned with math for three decades. California All-Stars Cheer (CAS) began its story 19 years ago in North County San Diego. With more than 1,000 athletes throughout six locations – San Marcos, the Bay Area, Las Vegas, Ventura, Ontario, and Scottsdale, AZ – CAS has worked its way to offering the most competitive cheer program in the state of California, gaining international recognition along the way as 12-time World Champions.

“All-Stars encompasses all the fun aspects about cheerleading, including dance, stunts, bonding with friends, and gaining confidence and skill through performances. Building the children from the inside out is what we do, because we focus on them as a whole,” said Tannaz Kirichkow, Owner of CAS. “Our goal is to make sure our kids gain a strong sense of self-confidence that will carry on for the rest of their lives.”

CAS offers tumbling camps in the summer, which focus on tumbling techniques for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The camps can last two or three days and are three hours per day. Camps are open to both boys and girls. CAS provides a sense of work ethic and life lessons in each of its classes, including a sense of bonding and camaraderie for cheerleaders who travel to national and international competitions.

“People come to California All-Stars for top-quality coaching and family atmosphere,” explained Tannaz. “Life lessons, core values, and athletic excellence come hand-in-hand. We love to see our kids succeed on and off the floor!”

With a trained and energetic staff, spacious gym, and professional instruction, CAS has something for every budding cheerleader out there! Tryouts for new teams will be held May 13, 14, and 16, and students should preferably be there all three days. The tryout process determines team placement. Outpost Summer Camps

Outpost Summer Camps provides valuable opportunities for children to connect with each other face to face and away from screens. Founded in 2001, the camp serves over 1,500 children every summer completely outdoors and unplugged. The Outpost experience has three pillars that parents have loved for 18 summers: nature, fun, and exceptional staff! Nature is the vehicle through which children get to play collaboratively and creatively. Fun is experienced on a surface level through exciting games and on a deeper level through a sense of belonging and community. Exceptional staff lead small, consistent groups with a focus on friendships, special traditions, and an inclusive culture. Door-to-door transportation is included in the program fee and available to most families. Outpost serves children ages 3 to 14, and according to Dr. Kelly Jones, the camp’s owner and director: “Each of our camps has exciting, age-appropriate activities, and all share in the philosophy of creative, spontaneous adventures facilitated by the counselors and campers.” The three-week sessions and small, consistent groups are what make Outpost so impactful. Dr. Kelly explained, “By staying longer at camp, children of all temperaments have enough time to learn names, get comfortable with routines, and make and keep new friends.” The camps also stand out with their commitment to safety. Outpost Summer Camps has been continuously accredited by the American Camp Association since inception and operates under permit from the County of San Diego as an Organized Camp. Dr. Kelly, a clinical psychologist, and her husband Stuart bring years of child development experience to Outpost. Additionally, the duo hires, trains, and retains their director team from their best counselors, who have invested 10 to 15 years at the camps and are specialized in their programs. Studio West

Summer camps at Studio West are back! These camps offer middle and high school-age students the opportunity to spend a week producing an original recording in the same studio that’s played host to artists such as Blink-182, Lil Wayne, and Arctic Monkeys, just to name a few. Musicians and non-musicians alike will find their role in the production process and gain experience with songwriting, arrangement, and performance, as well as audio engineering. Having access to three world-class recording rooms and individual workstations equipped with industryleading software like Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools, students will be guided through every step of making a professional recording. By collaborating, students will have a unique opportunity to meet like-minded peers who love music as much as they do, and take home a recording at the end of the week.

Studio West has been teaching music production for over 10 years. Programs span from middle school to industry professionals – from summer camps and numerous industry certifications all the way up to a year-long diploma program in audio engineering for those interested in a professional career. After-school programs and one-on-one tutoring are also offered throughout the school year. Music production week-long summer camps will begin June 22 and run through Aug. 14, from 12 to 6 p.m. daily.
