TYPES OF HAZARDS: A common way to classify hazards is by category:
Biological Hazards: Bacteria, viruses, insects, plants, birds, animals, and humans, etc.
Chemical Hazards: Flammable Gases: Hydrogen, Acetylene, Methene, Carbon Monoxide, Ammonia, H2S & LPG. Flammable Liquids: Diesel, Petrol, Kerosene, Benzene. Flammable Solids: Sodium, Phosphorus. Toxic Gases: H2S, Chlorine (Cl2), CO. Toxic Chemicals, Paints, Acids etc.
Ergonomic Hazards: Noise, Lighting, Fatigue, improper set up of workstation, etc.
Physical Hazards: Radiation Hazard, High Pressure, High Temperature, Noise, Vibration, Light etc.
Safety Hazards: Slipping, tripping hazards, inappropriate machine guarding, equipment malfunctions or breakdowns, working at height, including ladders, scaffolds, roofs etc.
Electrical Hazards: Working on live circuits, Skipping lockout/tagout, Damaged Electrical Tools, Improper grounding, Damaged extension cords, Not use of ELCB/MCB/RCCB etc.
