Join us at the Bluebell Railway, one of the UK’s oldest heritage railway lines for a rare opportunity to travel on board the world famous Flying Scotsman this August. We will be running direct passenger trains 23 - 29 August between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead (connected to the main rail network, 40 mins direct train from East Croydon) as well as the limited availability evening Sunset Scotsman service. The locomotive will also be on static display at Sheffield Park 30 August - 5 September. As well as the Flying Scotsman special services, we also offer a wide variety of other dining trains, including afternoon teas and supper specials (curry nights, pie and mash, fish and chips, and many others). Sussex is known for its stunning natural landscapes and breath-taking beauty spots in the South of England, but you need to see it to believe it. From rolling hills to tranquil lakes, the county offers a wealth of natural beauty that draws visitors from all over the world, while also offering a tranquil retreat for weekends away from the city life.

Named the Best UK Place to Visit in 2023 by Time Out, Eastbourne should be on your bucket list this year.

The Turner Prize – the world’s leading art prize, comes to Towner Eastbourne from 28 September 2023 to 14 April 2024 showcasing the shortlisted artists across the entire gallery, along with a vibrant programme of events around the town to celebrate.

Take a ride in the 160ft Eastbourne Wheel – the UK’s largest transportable ferris wheel, which operates on the Western Lawns until 3 September. With pods for up to six people, this is a birds eye view of the stunning Sussex coast that you don’t want to miss!

A trip to Eastbourne isn’t complete without a ride on the seafront Dotto Train. Hop on and off this mini land train, which runs along the prom between Holywell Retreat and Sovereign Harbour – where you’ll find the perfect stop off for shopping and a spot of lunch by the sparkling marina.
