In our final group match we played with great pride and passion winning 2-0, sealing ourselves a place in the semi-finals. The pitches we played on at East Grinstead were truly huge and as such our energy levels were certainly starting to dip!
After winning our locality event a team of hockey players took to the AstroTurf at East Grinstead hockey club. It is our first experience of the county finals in hockey and our team of Year 6s: Millie, James, Joshua, Lucas, Leila, Chester, Ruso and Archie represented us amazingly! We played in two pools with matches against teams from all over Sussex. We began understandably nervously, and drew 0-0 against our first two opponents despite lots of chances to score. In our next match we gained confidence and played freely, winning against them 5-2, with Millie scoring an excellent hattrick! Fired up by

Personal care
We were so unlucky to lose out on a place in the final via a golden goal loss – meaning a 3rd place finish. We are beyond proud of the whole team, including the substitutes and no-playing support team (Angus, Olivia, Sunny and Libby) –what a great experience! A big thank you to Mrs Clarke (headteacher) for driving us on the 1.5hr journey and cheering us on and to Mrs Alden for motivating us all.
Next up is the Rother Valley cricket tournament where we find out whether we have done enough to retain the overall sports trophy. www.midhurst-primary-school.co.uk
