Arundel Town Council Community Aid donations falling; Ford Station footpath Edited extracts from the draft minutes of the Town Council meeting 11th February 2021. Public questions: 1. Can the town council confirm the gym equipment will be going in Canada Road? The clearance (of scrubland) has started this week with the intention to create a public open space. There have been no decisions as to how this public space will look therefore, we cannot confirm whether or not gym equipment will be located there. 2. What is happening please to the temporary bus stop? We have just received a report from West Sussex County Council which says that the bus stop is both safe and permanent. Arundel Community Aid: Now supporting three families, there may be more families in need, but they are not coming forward. A large food donation was received from Whiteways Café which was passed to the local households and the Littlehampton food bank. Probably due to lockdown, more donations are not being made. Following the

success of the goodie bags at Christmas there is a plan to do the same at Easter. Ford Station footpath: The Mayor asked the Council to formally support the proposal explaining that one of the 2020/21 Council objectives was: “Explore with the relevant statutory authorities the possibility of creating a lit, cycle path/footpath between Ford Station and Arundel, not on the riverbank.” This exploration had been undertaken, a detailed report had been written, and the working group were now beginning to campaign for the pathway. The Mayor asked that the Council formally resolve to support the project and to redeploy £2,500 that had been requested by the Cycling and Walking Working Group at the November 2020 Full Council meeting for a professional report. The report is not required due to the discovery of the WSCC commissioned feasibility study. It was resolved to support the project and provide campaign funds. www.arundeltowncouncil.gov.uk

Barnham & Eastergate Parish Council Draft Budget is approved; Planning; Fallen Tree Edited extracts taken from the draft minutes of the Parish Council meeting 26th January 2021. Draft Budget 2021/22 - Following consideration of a draft budget at the last meeting of the Full Council in December, and notification of the Council’s taxbase for 2021/22 by the Association Of District Councils (ADC) which was lower than anticipated, the Clerk had revisited the budget, resolved were as follows: The Council approve a precept figure of £130,455 which will result in a 5% increase in Band D Council Tax households and that the budget being approved will be subject to minor adjustments following approval of the precept figure. Planning Matters - A strong objection that had been submitted in relation to the potential development on Land South of Barnham Station (Tars Farm) and the Chair of the Council also highlighted the key points of objection that he felt had been strongly made and should be taken into account in the decision to be made by ADC. There had been excellent engagement with the

developers involved in the Warwick Nurseries development (part of the Strategic Development) and that they had put them up for other developers to follow. Fallen Tree on Eastergate Recreation Ground Following receipt of the biannual tree survey report undertaken the Clerk had to organise quotes for the fallen Ash Tree located on Eastergate Recreation Ground due to the danger it posed. At this time they would only ask that the tree be felled and stacked. The costs to remove the wood in due course would not currently be approved as it was felt there might be other ways to remove the wood such as offering residents to come and take away amounts for their personal use. The Council also agreed that they would leave the stump in place as it was situated in such a place to cause no danger. www.barnhamandeastergate-pc.gov.uk
