St Philips Arundel Festive highlights & fund raising I would like to share just a few highlights of the festive season. Almost 60 ‘Love in a Box’ gifts were donated for the charity Mustard Seed who help support children in Eastern Europe. This year we had to alter the way that we recognise advent and Christmas. The usual annual Deanery advent service in Arundel Cathedral, was sent out on a live link from each of the four Deanery Catholic schools – St Philip’s, St Mary’s Bognor, St Richard’s, Chichester and St Philip Howard Catholic High School. Each school took turns to present. One of our Year 3 children, Ines, wanted to raise funds for the charity ‘End Youth Homelessness’. She and her mum spent the night in paper sleeping bags and raised over £470. An amazing achievement. We also raised funds for Cafod World Gifts. The charity helps families with basic needs like teaching a child to read, fresh water for a year, providing a family with a cow, a goat or similar to create their own income. This also helps children to see how lucky we are. www.stphilipsarundel.org.uk
