Cinnamon Eggy Bread
Using PPE for customer care
In lockdown my kids Archie & Willow have developed this month’s recipe. They expressed creativity, teamwork and enjoyed the results! Ingredients - serves 4 Ingredients available to pre order @village_larder • 1 Small Chewy Brown Loaf, cut into 6 thick slices • 2 eggs • 60ml milk • Pinch of salt • Half a tbsp cinnamon • 60g sugar • 2 tbsp salted butter • Serve with Sussex Honey and Caroline’s Dairy Vanilla Ice cream Method 1. Cut the crust of the bread and slice into three equal finger shapes. 2. Add the eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt into a shallow bowl and whisk. 3. In a separate shallow bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon 4. In a frying pan, melt the butter over a medium to high heat. 5. Coat the bread fingers in the eggy mixture shaking off the excess and place in the frying pan, rotating the bread until golden brown, this can be done in two batches. 6. Once golden immediately transfer to the sugary mixture and coat. 7. West Chiltington PC Parish Council Meetings during Covid-19 Due to the Coronavirus emergency and until further notice all Parish Council meetings will be held ‘virtually’. If you wish to ‘attend’ a meeting you can contact the Parish Clerk and you will be sent a link to enable you to join the councillors in an online meeting through Microsoft Teams. By doing this we are following the guidance sent to us by the government and we will be adhering to new protocols. Community Support West Chiltington Parish Council is pleased to support the West Chiltington & Nutbourne Action Group (WCNAG). This group of around 100 local volunteers is providing support for the elderly and vulnerable local people and for those in essential services during the Covid-19 crisis, acting as a pipeline between volunteers, community
organisations, local businesses and vulnerable residents. The group offers a range of services: • A dedicated phone helpline service 6 days a week from 10:00 – 15:00 via volunteers for vulnerable residents. • A daily pick-up and delivery service from 4 local stores and 3 pharmacies, 6 days a week via 42 volunteers on a rota basis. • A befriending chatline service via volunteers each operating in a dedicated region in the village. • A DVD and book library.
