More about Croatia
Today on our special reportage in honor of the eTwinning Project we will get to know better our planet by the hand of an actual citizen: Jan Koman-Bakun, a student from the High School of Ban Josip Jelačić in Zaprešić. The city; located in the southwest of Zagreb, the capital of the country, has around 20,000 inhabitants. It is popular for its football team, the NK Inter Zaprešić. It is situated in a mountainous zone with plenty of valleys and hills, but young people prefer to hang out at the city, where the nightclubs and bars are. It has no remarkable museums but there are many great places to enjoy with your friends or do sports Overall, Zaprešić is a fantastic place to visit and have a great time with your companions
Also known as the Republic of Croatia (since 1991), it’s a country, member of the E.U., located at the southeast of Europe. Its population exceeds 4.29 million inhabitants. Its capital, Zagreb it’s the most populated city. Its current president is Kolinda GrabarKitarović making Croatia one of the 22 countries with a female president.
In this picture above we can see the football stadium of Zaprešić
INTERESTING FACTS The High School of Zaprešić receives its name from the ban and army general of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, count Josip Jelačić von Bužim. He was born in Petrovaradin, Serbia, on the 16th October 1801, and died in this city the 20th May 1859. Portrait of count Josip Jelačić Scampi, a prawn soup typical of Croatia
Although Zaprešić does not have any regional cuisine or traditional dishes, we can still appreciate the country’s most emblematic foods in some restaurants or even a few groceries shops.
