The concept Contrast for Caretaker Flat was driven partly from the impression and inspiration taken from egg shape chairs presented at Aram Store London.

My concept Contrast is presented in the space division. The stairs and the space under it and above demarcates the division line between two spaces on the ground floor and on the first floor. It can be decorated with different coverings and colour. To highlight the concept idea round shape armchairs and other furniture with great comfort are used in the living room. The opposite space is contrasted with simple rectangular chairs and modern fully equipped kitchen

unit that comprises a dining table, a cooker and other appliences. The walls are covered with the cholckboard paint to use as a blackboard on one side and a big map of London print on the other. Cuttlery and spices and simply placed on the open shelves in the kitchen area. All these features simplify the opposite space and give the contrast feeling to the comfortable living room space.

First floor has 2 absulutely independent en-suite bedrooms for professors. There is a bridge between them to connect two spaces and give the idea of possible communication. Having two different types of professors whose lifestyles differ the spaces are decorated conrastingly. One of them

designed for an older thoughtful professor has classical features and colours while the the other has lively bright colours and very modern simple furniture.

Hotel Room Location

A triangle of influences have made Shoreditch into one of London’s most distinctive and unusual areas. To the East, Bangla-town and Brick Lane – London’s celebrated curry mile – are a riot of smells and colours from the Indian sub-continent. In the West, the looming towers of Liverpool Street and the City represent the world’s most concentrated area of money-making talent, where a number of sophisticated business hotels have sprung up.

And right in the middle of it all is Spitalfields market, a citadel of the working classes and home of the cockney music hall tradition. The result is an area where trendy bars sit next to cutprice Bangladeshi restaurants, where artists and fashionistas from Hackney and Shoreditch make their own clothes with fabrics from sari shops, and traditional cockney butchers share space with exclusive delicatessens.

Design Brief

The concept of my project is Assymetrical Balance shown through the use of 3D shapes arrangements which is based on Russian Constructivism and expressed through movable multifunctional furniture designed for a small scale space.

Multifunctional Unit Structure

A multifunctional structure consists of a central cuboid shape fixed on a square cube base. Flat transparent discs attached either side act as wheels to allow movement of this furniture element within the space.

Multifunctional Unit

This Multifunctional Unit may perform several functions. It can be used as a wardrobe to store clothes, as a little kitchen including a refrigerator and a kitchen work surface. There is a folding element that provides a ‘desktop’ or additional working area.

Round window design delineates the main feature of the interior and gives focus on the Multifunctional Unit. Round shape is soothing the exterior perception the viewer gets what is quite useful in this area. The idea of making a Multifunctional round bed appeared in the process of working on this project and is under developement at the moment.

The interior of the Hotel Room will be filled with functional devices on the walls defined in different shapes that would also highlight the Constructivist atmosphere and Assymetrical Balance in the space.

CelebrityProfile Egg represents the contrasted expression of the hard shell and the warm and soft interior.

American singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman Madonna is known for reinventing both her music and image, and for maintaining her autonomy within the recording industry. At the same time she is a passionate woman and a devoted mother of 4. Her children play very important role in her life loving and inspiring her. “Who’s that girl”, ”Open your heart,”Express youself ”,”Frozen”, “Nothing really matters”, “Living for love” - her songs express her personality and inner feelings for life showing constant search for love and comfort that only a family can give.

Being very curious and always in seeking for inspiration Madonna became a kabbalah practitioner. Kabbalah keeps the ego in check, and helps her to handle the pressures of fame and fortune as well as to get wisdom and inspiration. The search for client preferences in the interior design showed that Madonna has a passion for classical style as well as she is open to experiments, listens to designer’s opinion and updates her style preferences. David Collins had a great influence on the singer. She mentions “his infectious appreciation for the subtle beauty of every gradation of blue” that she bagan to love(ABCDS).

CelebrityProfile and Inspiration for the project Egg represents the contrasted expression of the hard shell and the warm and soft interior.

Madonna’s bedroom designed by David Collins Being American and having a lot of luxury appartments Madonna’s living spaces are big, wide open. There are loftlike attributes to them, and also the feeling of living in a penthouse. When she moved to London she had to buy several houses to combine into one. Sorting House space is a great opportunity for her to keep that feeling of a big space and freedom.

The idea of transformation of the interior colour scheme through the use of changing light inspired me to investigate the influence and impact of light on interior space. “Ray of light” was also a subject of interest to my client, therefore, I assume she would welcome the new space and would enjoy the dramatic changes in atmosphere it makes.

Big scale interior space is presumably assumed to be full of light and air. My research shows that this kind of space is subjected to shadowness as any space and even in bigger amount. Strong artificial lightning is needed to maintain the airy atmosphere.

My concept is Light Intervention shown through the use of interaction of light and shadow within a big scale loft space as well as through the dramatic change of lightning colour spectrum that transforms the atmosphore and mood of the space. It is assumed that Light Interven-

tion makes a great impact on people’s lives giving them needed emotional boost and inspiration.
