SHIRLEY JIRIK “We believe EVERY child can learn at high levels and it is our collective responsibility as educators and community members to ensure our students have the support in place to reach their maximum potential.”
PROGRAMS
Centennial Elementary has many programs and enrichment activities. Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS): A school-wide behavior program called PBIS has been put into place, so all students and staff have the same expectations. The goal is to have three or more positives for every negative at school. Enrichment: Opportunities for student involvement in enrichment opportunities including a LEGO program, Science, Art, Choir, Running Club, and Survivor classes

MESA
As a MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) focus school, students are exposed to interactive projects that provide opportunities to learn essential 21st century skills. At the elementary level, MESA helps students see mathematics and science as interesting and engaging subjects in which they can be competent. Students learn to work together in groups with hands-on activities that build math and science skills as well as literacy skills. To enhance the science focus, MESA is available to all students during the school day, rather than after school. Our mission is to increase the number of at risk students who graduate from high school fully prepared for post-secondary education in engineering, mathematics, science, computer science, business and other math and science-based STEM fields.
