INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
Being a student in an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School means learning about and taking action in our world. Our students become internationally-minded and exemplify a specific set of traits. Our students are inquirers, thinkers, communicators, risk-takers, knowledgeable, principled, caring, openminded, balanced, and reflective. These are all qualities of internationalism, which characterize our students in a global, complex, and rapidly changing world.

OUR STAFF
The 26 teachers of Central Elementary have over 450 years of combined teaching experience. 21 teachers hold advanced degrees. Principal Hecocks has over 38 years experience in education; 17 of those years as an elementary school teacher. The 24 support staff assist in various capacities to ensure our students’ learning environment is safe, orderly, and focused on learning: the office staff, media specialist, instructional assistants, kitchen staff, and custodial staff.
TECHNOLOGY
Central Elementary received a technology update during the summer of 2014. Every classroom has a ceiling-mounted projector, document camera, sound system and microphone that interface with teachers’ computers and laptops. This technology enables our students to have access to interactive and real-time learning experiences that bring the world into their classrooms.
