THE KINGS ARMS The Kings Arms was built in 1936 in a traditional 1930s design. It is situated in large landscaped gardens reflecting the local English countryside. The pub originally opened with the objective of providing a range of amenities for the local community including luncheons and teas together with fine ales and refreshments in pleasant comfortable surroundings. Although the pub may have seen many changes over the years we still offer the same comfort and value for money in our current food and drink offers. Our 2 meals at a set price include classics like hand battered fish and chips, rump steak and chips with all the trimmings and New York style chicken. With Sunday roasts all day every Sunday including a ‘go large’ option and midweek grill and curry nights priced to include a drink, our menu offers all your pub favourites and more. You will also find great deals on lagers, spirits and soft drinks. We offer a high standard of customer service and with 7 TV screens we are also very popular for sporting events. So, whether football, cricket or rugby is your passion, you'll find it all at The Kings Arms. We now boasts a fantastic new pizza oven, it’s now easy to grab a slice of the action whilst saving dough, perfect if you’re looking to feed a hungry group! Available to eat in or take-away, every pizza comes with its own performance, as we cook them right in front of you in our lively open kitchen. Join us for a meal at your local John Barras pub and you’ll be greeted with a warm atmosphere, friendly service and an exciting menu packed full of all your pub favourites. So next time you are in Billingham, and looking for great value food and drink every day of the week, we look forward to seeing you

Billingham Juniors FC can officially announce a major new partnership between the club and one of the world’s most famous teams. We have secured a prestigious deal with AC Milan to become an official junior camp partner of the Italian giants, one of the true superpowers of European football. The long-term venture, which could span two decades, will bring with it many perks, including the chance for some youngsters to pull on the Rossoneri’s iconic kit and play in the huge San Siro stadium against juniors representing fierce rivals Inter. On top of that, legendary AC Milan defender Franco Baresi is set to attend a press conference at Northfield next year. As part of the agreement, two training camps will be staged at Northfield during the 2016 school summer holidays. Each one, running from Monday to Friday, will cater for up to around 150 children and be aimed at boys and girls aged from six to 15. The dates for the camps are week commencing 1st August 2016 and 15th August 2016 A number of AC Milan coaches will attend the sessions to put the youngsters through their paces and give them a taste of coaching at the highest level. Children will also learn other pro tips, including advice about nutrition and the benefits of eating correctly. Four or five children from each camp will then be picked for an unforgettable experience in 2017 – to play at the 80,000-capacity San Siro, which is home to AC Milan, the 18-time winners of Serie A, and Inter and was used as a venue for the 1990 Fifa World Cup. The camps will not be exclusive to Billingham Junior players and the club are keen to stress that it is an opportunity for children throughout Billingham and Stockton.

2010 / 2011
The Intermediates founded when former U18 manager and BTJFC Secretary Peter Cooper and John Swanson came together to put together an adult team for the junior section. Both agreed that the Teesside league would be a good challenge and both had the same vision, to have a team where the players from the junior section could stay with the club once they had finished their junior football. The first season proved difficult on many levels; 42 players coming and going, organising a strip and pitches and most significantly the devastating death of Peter in October 2010. Ian Murray then the U18 manager joined the management team. A difficult season saw only 1 win in29 games... but the basis of a squad to go into the next season, and true to the philosophy that Peter had held, the majority had been former Junior players. 2011 / 2012 With a core of lads from the previous season and some of Ian's former U18 lads, the season looked to be full of promise, however the step up for the new lads and trying to gel the squads together saw the season start off where it finished the previous season, winless, however the results were encouraging. Once the team had it's first win under it's belt it went on an unbeaten run of 8 games. With the odd win/draw towards the end of the season...the results did not reflect the performances. The team had now started to develop a style of it's own, playing some attractive football, the highlight of the season had to be away to Northallerton Academy 2-0 down at half time, Town outplayed Northallerton to win 3-2 playing some great football, showing great character and both starting and finishing with 10 former Junior players... the foundation well and truly in place. Thanks to the hard work of Ian The team got new strips through a sponsorship agreement with RA DALTON. whose support is still much appreciated.
2012 / 2013
A more settled squad started the season playing a good style of football however a string of long term injuries to key players disrupted the season. Again the squad struggled for points and goals but the last 9 games of the season saw a more settled team start to play the football it promised early on. The highlight being the 2-1 win at Lingdale the first team to defeat champions (1 of only 2 clubs to do it) The season again saw progress both on and off the pitch with the addition to the coaching staff of goalkeeping coach Peter Laverick. The squad has 25 former junior players out of the 32 signed on continuing the philosophy that the team was set up to fulfil 7
2013 / 2014 We started the season at a new ground, Northfield sportsdrome and now have the support of the Whitehouse Pub who provide after match refreshments, Massive thanks !!! Our Football continued to go from the ridiculous to the sublime, some great moves and goals but games where we fell apart in sections of the game and got punished. This will happen with a young team but in the coming season we will look for those players now in their 5th season, even though they are still young, to step up to the plate. The season started off badly with Cooky suffering a double fracture but it did save us 3 points, happily Cooky started training at the end of the season. The emphasis was again on the SQUAD with Muzz starting to work shifts a massive loss for us after his early season form but that is why we needed numbers to turn up to games and training. We did progress off the field and on but again finished bottom ( Billingham Athletic resigning). Lav as leading goal scorer led the line well and finished 2nd highest scorer in Billingham. As a team we need to be more clinical and punish teams mistakes like they punish ours. For the first time we also produced a free match programme and developed to publishing it on-line
2014 / 2105
A NEW NAME‌ BILLINGHAM FC
Now
going into our 5th season we welcomed the 3rd group of young lads to come through from the juniors. Many have had a taste over the last couple of seasons on an ad-hoc basis and we will look to integrate them fully into the squad which I expect to be a little smaller this season but also a season wiser. The season turned out to be more about developments off the field than on. We introduced Beth Pounder to the management team in the closed season. Beth is a qualified Sports Scientist and will deal with players injuries and rehabilitation. Beth is also a former Billingham Junior. We held our 1st Golf day in August and this is now an annual event. We secured funding from the Teesside Philanthropic Society to enable us to buy training/ warm up kit for the whole squad. The press release featured in the Billingham Community News Paper and this led to a further grant from the Billingham Legacy Foundation which has enabled us to buy Rain jackets for the whole squad and 5 sub suits for the lads on the bench match days. Thanks to hard work by Ian Murray we have also retained RA DALTON as a sponsor of a new home kit (in the same style and colours as the juniors) and Klargester as new sponsors of our much needed away kit
On the pitch we continued to try and play a passing game, playing out from the back. After a good pre season we started reasonably well in the league but drawing games we really should have won, these lost points would come back at the end of the season to show in our final position. Our County cup game saw us host Ferryhill and a good performance saw us progress to the 1st round proper for the 1st time (another small landmark) and travel to Murton. A game on reflection we could have won but ended up going down 4-3. The end of the season was scrappy and when the U18’s folded some of the lads joined the squad, maybe a year early having had the past years experience but non the less they were welcomed into the squad.

Next up to the Sportsdrome are Redcar Town. Probably the best football team we played last season, they will provide a stern test today. The season is proving to be a particularly hard one and also frustrating. No sooner do we get someone back from injury, work or sign someone on we lose someone else to injury, work, holidays or just generally drop out. I have to admire the core set of lads that turn up week in week out and the lads who turn up when not at work. Most of these lads have been with us for several seasons if not from the beginning and to keep playing when wins are few and far between shows great character, as I have said on numerous times before. I was talking to the league this week and joked if we ever finished in the top 3 then the league would only have 3 teams by the end of the season as the teams below would fold. My challenge to ALL the players signed on is to get us through this season and then for us to regroup and move forward. To make the point from last weeks notes again I still have that shared vision of a Billingham Juniors senior team, playing at a good level, enjoying football, making good mates and developing as footballers. Winning would be nice (would make it easier to turn up) but football at this level is more than just that!

Hamstring Stretching & Stretching Programme (part 4)
Single leg hip extension
This is a more advanced version of a bridge. Using a step or box the athlete rests on their elbows and alternates each leg putting the heel down on the floor maintaining good core stability. It is important to keep the hips and shoulders still. As the heel touches the ground the gluteal muscles and hamstrings have to work isometrically to keep the body stable. This also works the hamstring muscles in a similar position as they are in when sprinting or accelerating.
Single leg ball pick up
This is another deceptively difficult hamstring exercise which looks easy at first glance. However with this one it is important to judge muscle soreness the next day before over doing this one. It works the hamstring muscles in a very stretched position, particularly the muscle fibers nearer the buttocks. The athlete places on foot in front of the other and bends down to pick up the medicine ball. They then repeat the movement to put the ball back down. Repeat this 5 to 10 times.
Lunge with ball
A basic lunge is performed while holding a ball to aid balance. This exercise strengthens the glutes, hamstring muscles and quadriceps muscles. The athlete stands with the injured leg a wide stance in front of the other. Holding a medicine ball close to the chest the weight is shifted onto the front leg and back knee bent dropping it down to the floor.

Table amended after the resignation of Middleton Rangers, Cargo Fleet & Billingham Synthonia.
This season following the merging of the two divisions every team will play each other once. The division will then split in two, the bottom 9 will then play in their own division and the top 9 in theirs. The team finishing in the bottom 9 cannot finish higher than 10th despite the number of points they attain by the end of the season.

The vast majority as expected were read by people in the UK (I’m guessing Teesside) but our programme was also read overseas in 17 other countries. The table to the right shows where and how many reads from each country. If you are reading this outside the UK please put a comment on our facebook page so we know who & where you are. www.facebook.com/pages/BillinghamFC/1429244360680279 Thank you, Danke, Gracias, Merci, Hvala, Grazie,Дякую, Obrigado, Kiitos, ขอบคุณ, terima kasih, متشکرم

Travel | Lake Minnewaska - Minnewaska State Park, New York - America So during the Summer I went on my travels to America for eleven weeks to work on a summer camp called Camp Echo in the state of New York. Throughout the Summer I met some incredible people, seen some unbelievable sights and had an amazing summer. If you are reading this and want to do something like this I’ll leave a link at the bottom!. So, during my time off from the Camp we (other counsellors) could do trips and one day some of us decided to go to Lake Minnewaska. Without question, the Lake and scenery of this place is simply beautiful in every single way possible. The park itself, opens your eyes to human nature and its beauty. I realised that sometimes we are so fixed on our devices that we don't really appreciate the sights and nature of the planet.
So yeah, this was my first ever travel post. If I'm honest I have never really been interested in travelling. Ok, when I was younger I was fortunate to go on holidays with my parents and friends but I never seen it as 'travelling'. Going to America for those 11 weeks was such an amazing experience, after the 8 weeks work I traveled to NYC, Baltimore, Miami, Orlando, Bahamas and New Jersey. Hopefully, I'll be going back again this Summer after my degree finishes!
