THE KINGS ARMS The Kings Arms was built in 1936 in a traditional 1930s design. It is situated in large landscaped gardens reflecting the local English countryside. The pub originally opened with the objective of providing a range of amenities for the local community including luncheons and teas together with fine ales and refreshments in pleasant comfortable surroundings. Although the pub may have seen many changes over the years we still offer the same comfort and value for money in our current food and drink offers. Our 2 meals at a set price include classics like hand battered fish and chips, rump steak and chips with all the trimmings and New York style chicken. With Sunday roasts all day every Sunday including a ‘go large’ option and midweek grill and curry nights priced to include a drink, our menu offers all your pub favourites and more. You will also find great deals on lagers, spirits and soft drinks. We offer a high standard of customer service and with 7 TV screens we are also very popular for sporting events. So, whether football, cricket or rugby is your passion, you'll find it all at The Kings Arms. We now boasts a fantastic new pizza oven, it’s now easy to grab a slice of the action whilst saving dough, perfect if you’re looking to feed a hungry group! No apologies for re printing our fantastic news Billingham Juniors FC can officially announce a major new partnership between the club and one of the world’s most famous teams. We have secured a prestigious deal with AC Milan to become an official junior camp partner of the Italian giants, one of the true superpowers of European football. The long-term venture, which could span two decades, will bring with it many perks, including the chance for some youngsters to pull on the Rossoneri’s iconic kit and play in the huge San Siro stadium against juniors representing fierce rivals Inter. On top of that, legendary AC Milan defender Franco Baresi is set to attend a press conference at Northfield next year. As part of the agreement, two training camps will be staged at Northfield during the 2016 school summer holidays. Each one, running from Monday to Friday, will cater for up to around 150 children and be aimed at boys and girls aged from six to 15. The dates for the camps are week commencing 1st August 2016 and 15th August 2016 A number of AC Milan coaches will attend the sessions to put the youngsters through their paces and give them a taste of coaching at the highest level. Children will also learn other pro tips, including advice about nutrition and the benefits of eating correctly. Four or five children from each camp will then be picked for an unforgettable experience in 2017 – to play at the 80,000-capacity San Siro, which is home to AC Milan, the 18-time winners of Serie A, and Inter and was used as a venue for the 1990 Fifa World Cup. The camps will not be exclusive to Billingham Junior players and the club are keen to stress that it is an opportunity for children throughout Billingham and Stockton.

2010 / 2011

The Intermediates founded when former U18 manager and BTJFC Secretary Peter Cooper and John Swanson came together to put together an adult team for the junior section. Both agreed that the Teesside league would be a good challenge and both had the same vision, to have a team where the players from the junior section could stay with the club once they had finished their junior football. The first season proved difficult on many levels; 42 players coming and going, organising a strip and pitches and most significantly the devastating death of Peter in October 2010. Ian Murray then the U18 manager joined the management team. A difficult season saw only 1 win in29 games... but the basis of a squad to go into the next season, and true to the philosophy that Peter had held, the majority had been former Junior players. 2011 / 2012 With a core of lads from the previous season and some of Ian's former U18 lads, the season looked to be full of promise, however the step up for the new lads and trying to gel the squads together saw the season start off where it finished the previous season, winless, however the results were encouraging. Once the team had it's first win under it's belt it went on an unbeaten run of 8 games. With the odd win/draw towards the end of the season...the results did not reflect the performances. The team had now started to develop a style of it's own, playing some attractive football, the highlight of the season had to be away to Northallerton Academy 2-0 down at half time, Town outplayed Northallerton to win 3-2 playing some great football, showing great character and both starting and finishing with 10 former Junior players... the foundation well and truly in place. Thanks to the hard work of Ian The team got new strips through a sponsorship agreement with RA DALTON. whose support is still much appreciated.

2012 / 2013

A more settled squad started the season playing a good style of football however a string of long term injuries to key players disrupted the season. Again the squad struggled for points and goals but the last 9 games of the season saw a more settled team start to play the football it promised early on. The highlight being the 2-1 win at Lingdale the first team to defeat champions (1 of only 2 clubs to do it) The season again saw progress both on and off the pitch with the addition to the coaching staff of goalkeeping coach Peter Laverick. The squad has 25 former junior players out of the 32 signed on continuing the philosophy that the team was set up to fulfil 7

2013 / 2014 We started the season at a new ground, Northfield sportsdrome and now have the support of the Whitehouse Pub who provide after match refreshments, Massive thanks !!! Our Football continued to go from the ridiculous to the sublime, some great moves and goals but games where we fell apart in sections of the game and got punished. This will happen with a young team but in the coming season we will look for those players now in their 5th season, even though they are still young, to step up to the plate. The season started off badly with Cooky suffering a double fracture but it did save us 3 points, happily Cooky started training at the end of the season. The emphasis was again on the SQUAD with Muzz starting to work shifts a massive loss for us after his early season form but that is why we needed numbers to turn up to games and training. We did progress off the field and on but again finished bottom ( Billingham Athletic resigning). Lav as leading goal scorer led the line well and finished 2nd highest scorer in Billingham. As a team we need to be more clinical and punish teams mistakes like they punish ours. For the first time we also produced a free match programme and developed to publishing it on-line

2014 / 2105

A NEW NAME‌ BILLINGHAM FC

Now

going into our 5th season we welcomed the 3rd group of young lads to come through from the juniors. Many have had a taste over the last couple of seasons on an ad-hoc basis and we will look to integrate them fully into the squad which I expect to be a little smaller this season but also a season wiser. The season turned out to be more about developments off the field than on. We introduced Beth Pounder to the management team in the closed season. Beth is a qualified Sports Scientist and will deal with players injuries and rehabilitation. Beth is also a former Billingham Junior. We held our 1st Golf day in August and this is now an annual event. We secured funding from the Teesside Philanthropic Society to enable us to buy training/ warm up kit for the whole squad. The press release featured in the Billingham Community News Paper and this led to a further grant from the Billingham Legacy Foundation which has enabled us to buy Rain jackets for the whole squad and 5 sub suits for the lads on the bench match days. Thanks to hard work by Ian Murray we have also retained RA DALTON as a sponsor of a new home kit (in the same style and colours as the juniors) and Klargester as new sponsors of our much needed away kit

On the pitch we continued to try and play a passing game, playing out from the back. After a good pre season we started reasonably well in the league but drawing games we really should have won, these lost points would come back at the end of the season to show in our final position. Our County cup game saw us host Ferryhill and a good performance saw us progress to the 1st round proper for the 1st time (another small landmark) and travel to Murton. A game on reflection we could have won but ended up going down 4-3. The end of the season was scrappy and when the U18’s folded some of the lads joined the squad, maybe a year early having had the past years experience but non the less they were welcomed into the squad.

Yarm are the team to visit the Sportsdrome this weekend and we also extend a welcome to the 3 officials Jess Shuker, John Leonard and Chris Adamson. Our past 2 performances whilst not our best football have shown character and a good team spirit. Still struggling with injuries and shifts we seem to take 1 step forward and 2 back. The arrival of Anth Bell to the squad adds much needed forward cover but to counter that we lost Tom Patrick after last weeks game and I think we will be short of his services until after Christmas. I spoke last issue of my admiration for the core set of lads that turn up week in week out and the lads who turn up when not at work. Most of these lads have been with us for several seasons if not from the beginning and to keep playing when wins are few and far between shows great character, as I have said on numerous times before. Yarm got off to a flyer at the start of the season, recent results have seen them slip back, but they are still in a very creditable position in the top half of the season. It is always a good game to watch, normally close but recently we have had a few heavy defeats to them. Today will be a good test of our recently regained team spirit. Again my challenge to ALL the players signed on is to get us through this season and then for us to regroup and move forward. We also welcome back Ian Murray to the dug out!

Hamstring Stretching & Stretching Programme (part 5) Good mornings

Another deceptively difficult exercise which looks easy but checking the level of muscle soreness the next day is important before doing to many of these is important. This exercise is a more advanced version of the single leg ball pick up and works the lower back and hamstring muscles eccentrically, especially the fibers towards the top of the thigh. The athlete bends forwards at the waist keeping the back straight. This also works the hamstrings as they stretch. Norwegian leg curl

One of the most advanced hamstring exercises. The athlete kneels down while the therapist holds the ankles. They then slowly lean forwards as far as they can under control using the hamstrings to resist the forwards movement. A super advanced version of this is to use the hamstrings to curl back up again

Table amended after the resignation of Middleton Rangers, Cargo Fleet & Billingham Synthonia.

This season following the merging of the two divisions every team will play each other once. The division will then split in two, the bottom 9 will then play in their own division and the top 9 in theirs. The team finishing in the bottom 9 cannot finish higher than 10th despite the number of points they attain by the end of the season.

Anthem Of Last Summer YES Conor Maynard released a new track Sunday evening called "Talking About"and I tell you now that it has the potential to be a huge summer track. The word potential is used a lot, but I feel that Conor has cracked the club scene with the breakdown, to the bridge and the drop into the chorus. The Track in general sounds terrific but the potential within the track is even better. We see how different DJ's interpret different tracks to become club successes. For example last year we seen Tiesto transform John Legend's All Of Me track into a mainstream club success and who would of thought that? Even though DJ's get the plaudits, the original tracks are normally just as good and Conors new track on it's own is actually phenomenal and I'm guessing he's going to be played a lot on your radio stations in the very near future!! I'm glad that Conor has came back strong in the music scene because the industry is starting to become ferocious with talents coming through left, right and centre! I remember watching his videos back in 2011 when he sang covers to get noticed, he was raking 11 million views and there was a huge public demand for him. However, there is I do love listening to his covers because his remakes are generally outrageous on near enough every occasion. Anyway, you can pre-order his new track now and if you haven't heard it the link is belowww http://youtu.be/nrWJNCHCEdk
