WHAT IS IT? • An award scheme that recognises student’s individual contribution to improving the sustainability and environmental performance of Swansea University. • Will help to develop knowledge, skills and values that will be specifically required to contribute to the transition to the green and lower carbon jobs sector – one of the most significant areas identified as contributing to future regional and national growth. • An opportunity for students to increase their transferable skills and gain experience of working on a range of projects as part of a professional team. Once you are registered for the award you will get regular emails about the upcoming sustainability and wellbeing events you can be part of. You can also check our website for any upcoming events www.swansea.ac.uk/sustainability Stay up to date with your progress by attending regular Sustainability Award drop in sessions arranged by the Sustainability Team.

Sustainability Ambassador Team Leader • Organise two themed hall visits during the academic year • Manage a team of Sustainability volunteers. This involves liaising with the Sustainability Team • Keep an attendance record for the sustainability volunteers in your group. Log all activities and pass this information to the Sustainability Team • Organise a social/team building event for your volunteer group to encourage participation

EXCELLENCE LEVEL Employability Criteria

• Brighter Futures supports student ideas (that support our Sustainability objectives and targets) with funding of up to £300. This funding can be used alone for a single project or can help fund a larger programme of student-led work • All applications to the scheme must demonstrate that the idea or project will help to support the University’s Sustainability Policy and Strategy or link in to the Sustainability Team’s themed campaigns • All monies will be spent directly from the Brighter Futures Fund, not granted to the student individually
