Renewable Energy
Target is to reduce carbon emissions (from buildings energy) by at least 35% by 2020/21 based on 2010/11 baseline. Currently the carbon emission trajectory is not going in the right direction as a result of the expanding operations of the University.
Swansea University has substantially increased its renewable sources of energy. The Singleton campus currently has a 86KW of PV (Data Science, Sports Centre, Library) and at Bay Campus has a 230KW PV capacity (ESRI, School of Management, Engineering Central, ISM, Engineering East). Engineering central also has a solar thermal system installed.
