FALL FOOTBALL FRENZY! -This two month program beginning on the first week of September and ending at the close of October focuses on a providing a fun environment for our members to help raise funds for our community. The game utilizes the standard "football pool" squares game but provides a twist with the donations for squares going to one of three community groups.

As part of their donation, participants will receive a chance to win an assortment of prizes including a lucky square chance at $25,000, a 60" Vizio TV, $600 Jack Fry Travel Voucher, and our Handmay's Holiday Basket..

The three groups that will be supported with this year's program are the IWV Youth Football, Bite of Reality, and Senior Services of IWV. Last year the event combined to raise $3,300 for local groups.

If you are interested in participating come into the credit union and take advantage of this great community event! $25 donation per square ** The Ridgecrest Veterans Advisory Council is looking for volunteers, willing to donate their free time to rally for the needs of the Indian Wells Valley Veterans. Our board has three to five essential director positions that aid the Chairperson, for one to two years, in the planning and implementation of the annual September Stand Down along with additional events to be identified and prioritized for the period prior to and after the Stan Down. Two of the board positions will be a Secretary and a Treasurer and a basic understanding of 501c3 requirements is desirable. Essentials with Jessica David, CHC-This program is designed to be facilitated as a one-time, twohour interactive class where parents of children ages 3-12 meet and learn simple strategies to enhance their children's health through topics like Traffic Light Eating, Brainy Breakfasts and Watering their growing children. This one time class is designed to help you understand the importance of nutrition for your family.

This program does not teach the food pyramid or the My Plate. This is for adults only; no childcare offered.

The cost is $30 per person and it includes interactive instruction, a take-home booklet (will be given to you at the class), a healthy recipe, and chances to win prizes throughout our time together. A minimum of 10 participants (with no more than 20) is required for each workshop. Payment is required 10 days before the workshop begins. There are no refunds once registration closes. • RIDGECREST DESERT CLASSIC-The Ridgecrest Desert Classic, presented by High Sierra Cyclists, is back for its third year with professional mountain biker Charles Jenkins at the helm! Miles of singletrack and technical terrain are available to our riders via the beginner loop (14 miles), sport loop (21 miles), or the expert/pro loop (27 miles). The race begins and ends at the Cerro Coso Community College gym parking lot, and will have a total of 5 aid stations available amongst the 3 well-marked courses. The gym bathrooms will be open to our participants and spectators, and a local booster club will be barbecuing up the basics. We will also have Ken Sanger of ThunderSnow Photography en route taking photos, which will be available later for purchase.
