TRAIN OF THOUGHT SEMESTER: 5Th SUBJECT: Achitectural Design LOCATION: Hogenekkal falls,Tamilnadu A set of 11 dwellings for writers on a bridge. The site is located on a patch of river in hognekkal
My concept revolved around a railway bridge ,the idea being that bridges are usually seen as a link to a certain destination rather than as the destination itself. The design has a railway bridge made of truss system as the external element and the actual residences placed in it represented as the train stopped while going through the bridge.

CITY ENSEMBLE SEMESTER: 6th SUBJECT: Architectural Design LOCATION: Palace grounds, Bangalore The sobriquets of Bangalore have evolved over centuries lending new identities as the city has evolved. The flavors, sight, sounds and features of the city has changed which has led to the need for a city ensemble where all the various aspects of a city can be documented, experienced or facilitated.. This city awareness Centre will provide a one point contact for all the various players related to the city like the ministry of tourism, archaeological survey of India, Hospitality industry and city enthusiasts who are keen to retain the city’s fabric.
My idea for this project was to re-imagine Bangalore as the garden city it was. Bangalore in recent times has lost the allure it used to have as the garden city of India . My design’s purpose was to explore the possibility that the building and the surrounding greenery can integrate and co-exist with each other in various forms. This in turn would also give the people who visit this facility a glimpse of the garden city that Bangalore was. The building is opened towards rear part of the site to keep the focus on the abundant greenery that is pre-existent in the site.
Greenery is incorporated within the buil so that the barrier between inside and o as possible.

A NARRATIVE PARADOX SEMESTER: 5th SUBJECT: Architectural design LOCATION: Koramangla ,Bangalore
The design brief of this project was to build a state of the art film school in the deeply residential part of koramangla The intention was to facilitate high quality education in the various processes of film making and to involve the public in most of these activities .
My idea for this design was a take on the the protagonist vs the antagonist or such similar contrasting themes which exist in films. That is to say the contrasting themes play off of each other and highlight key features .
I have tried to attempt this difference in terms of the architectural language of the 2 major blocks on opposite sides separated by a water channel and connected by a bridge which symbolizes the story which connects the characters . MASTERPLAN
Simple building style and the classical order of perpendicular columns
Modern style of design with the building being suspended between the columns by steel tensioned cables and also the use of V shaped columns to play off the straight columns on the other side .

AT THE REEF’S EDGE HABITAT CONSERVATION AND ECO-TOURISM CENTRE SEMESTER: 8th SUBJECT: Architectural thesis LOCATION: Gulf of mannar ,Rameswaram Thesis inquiry : can an architectural intervention be staged at this unique site to not only sustain the current existing endangered habitat but also improve or assist it in thriving further and bring about increased awareness and economic activity in this region to co-exist .
KEYWORDS: Habitat conservation Intervention Research Centre Eco tourism Interpretation
ISSUES: Population growth Unsustainable fishing practices Submergence of islands Excess collection of sea weed and shell Pollution from factories, power plants and harbors Climate change and temperature rise Depletion of mangroves The current scenario is that the natural world and the human world are existing as separate entities in this region with neither of them thriving . This thesis would question if an architectural intervention can help bring them closer together to co-exist without invading each other’s spaces and also bring about more awareness to this region without destroying its essence.
CLIMATIC DATA
REGIONAL CONTEXT AND SITE CONTEXT The site has a two fold context ,one being the regional context with landmarks such as the pumban bridge ,rameswaram etc and then the immediate site context which lies towards the edge of the main land close to one of the largest islands in the mannar group Krusadai island which is 200 meters from the main land
PROGRAM Program has 2 main components -a research component attached with a residential section and a tourism component which could create awareness and economy to fund the research related activities and promote Eco tourism.
SITE PICTURES
REGIONAL CONTEXT
My overall design idea is to come up with a state of the art research and Eco tourism facility to create awareness and showcase this unique site .
SITE PLAN
This can to done : 1. By responding to the site and immediate context with the climate, landscape and the sea edge 2.with the form of the building . 3.with the program and functions and how to reinterpret them in a more informal setting suited to the context 4.By the architectural language used in the building.

THALIR to sprout, to bloom into a new beginning..... This was a group competition proposal for an urban masterplan for The Buckhingam Canal region in the heart of Chennai. ‘Thalir’ signifies the need to allow for new voices to be heard, new innovations to be recognised and new bonds to be formed whilst being rooted to the ground. The design interventions are envisioned to be the catalysts that enable engagements between man, nature and culture and allow for buds to sprout in art, literature, history and knowledge.
METHODOLOGY Our primary focus of intervention is the banks and edges of the canal. The under line of the metro, the edges along the highway, edges along the canal, with changing contexts, called for a different understanding and treatments. The organic spaces between the fluid (walking, cycling) corridors that run through the 3.5km stretch, are meant to serve as COMMUNITY COLLECTORS

The ‘THALIR’ is designed to function as a living filter that will continuously work to improve not just the water quality but also the Social and Economic Environment and Ecosystem. A combination of rain gardens, bio-swales, and other vernacular processes of black and grey water treatment are proposed to work together to enhance the quality of life under and above water.
