W
nadbużańskim, ponad sześciotysięcznym Terespolu, miasteczku leżącym na styku narodów, kultur, języków i wyznań, regularnie od 1996 r. w samym środku zimy organizowane są spotkania kolędników. W 2000 roku przegląd kolęd przekształcono w Międzynarodowy Festiwal Chórów Kolędniczych. Dwa lata później zmieniono regulamin i do dziś terespolskie kolędowanie funkcjonuje jako Międzynarodowy Festiwal Kolęd Wschodniosłowiańskich. Czternaście edycji festiwalu, blisko pięć tysięcy wykonawców i wielotysięczna widownia potwierdzają, że jest to jeden z nielicznych tego typu festiwali na świecie, a jego rangę podnoszą uczestnicy: znakomite chóry i dyrygenci z całej Europy. Wielu wykonawców przyjeżdża tu nie tylko, by śpiewać, ale autentycznie kolędować. Warto przyjechać do Terespola na festiwal i przeżyć prawdziwą ucztę duchową, której błogosławi Jego Ekscelencja Arcybiskup Abel. Patronat honorowy nad XV Międzynarodowym Festiwalem Kolęd Wschodniosłowiańskich objął Jego Eminencja Wielce Błogosławiony Sawa – Prawosławny Metropolita Warszawski i całej Polski oraz Minister Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego.

erespol, a town with over six thousand residents and situated on the Bug River, where many nations, cultures, languages and denominations meet, has played host to a review of carol-singing choirs and groups organised in the middle of winter since 1996. In 2000 the name of the event was changed from Review of Carol-singing Choirs to International Festival of Carol-singing Choirs. Two years later the rules were changed again and since then the event in Terespol has been known as International Festival of East Slavic Carols. Fourteen editions of the festival, almost five thousand performers and thousands of visitors who come to listen to the artists show that the event is unique and its status is increased by excellent choirs and conductors from all over Europe. Many performers come here not just to sing but specially to sing carols. The festival in Terspol is definitely worth seeing since it gives visitors a chance to participate in a genuine spiritual feast, blessed by His Excellency Archbishop Abel. The 15th International Festival was held under the honorary patronage of His Eminence Blessed Sawa – Orthodox Metropolitan of Warsaw and of the whole Poland as well as the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
