School in a Bag update

Greetings from School in a Bag – we’re happy to report that we’re surviving!

To our good fortune, we have excellent reserves, but have undergone a few changes due to the global coronavirus pandemic. Sadly, the team of four has halved and, in light of lockdowns, we have created more digital and virtual platforms to embrace the new way of living, working and, of course fundraising.

Much of this is centred around a new website, which includes a shop (now Christmas themed!) and we’re hopeful for a busy few months where people fund SchoolBags for Christmas.

During the first lockdown, our 3 Peaks and Everest Staircase Challenges raised funds to support our international partners’ homeschooling efforts and now we are delighted to be funding SchoolBag projects again with recent distributions in Tanzania, Nepal and Guinea Bissau (see picture).

Congratulations to all of the finalists in this year’s awards, and thank you to the members of the #swibtribe for your wonderful, continued support.
