Our industry-standard facilities – including Engineering, Plumbing, Hospitality and Catering, Hairdressing, Beauty and Art and Design – make us the first choice college for those considering vocational (work-related) courses.

All students have the benefits of a personal tutor and highly experienced, professional teaching staff. We offer a range of courses at different levels. Many of our students enter further education programmes, achieve and then progress on to full-time higher education courses here at the College or at universities around the country. Swindon College offers university level courses at HND/C, Foundation Degree, Degree and even Masters (postgraduate) level.

Safeguarding Your safety comes first! Swindon College is committed to prioritising and promoting safeguarding and protecting all young people and vulnerable adults from harm whatever their age, gender, ethnicity, disability, language, faith or sexual orientation. The term ‘safeguarding children and young people’ embraces both child protection and a preventative approach to keeping young people safe. ‘Safeguarding’ therefore includes learner health and safety, bullying, meeting the needs of those with medical conditions, providing first aid, security and support / safeguarding from drugs and substance abuse etc. It includes the need for an awareness of e-safety and the College actively works with students to help them understand the risks posed by the internet and some forms of social media. Swindon College, like all educational establishments, complies with legislation to protect young people and vulnerable adults. All staff who have contact with students are subject to Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks and are trained on how to support and help keep students safe. The College is closely linked with the Local Safeguarding Children Board.

How to apply Who to talk to and how to apply The College has a team of qualified Student Services advisors based at our North Star campus. They are on hand to provide you with any information you may require for any of the courses that we offer and to assist you with your application.

Full time applications The Student Services team processes full time applications and arranges interviews with course tutors. We accept applications all year round. Please contact us if you need any help with your application or if you need to change an interview date. You should receive a letter confirming receipt of your application within seven days of submitting it and will normally receive your first interview date within four weeks of your application reaching us. You can contact us on: (01793) 498308/498262 or by email at: fulltimeenquiries@ swindon-college.ac.uk

Step 1

Apply online or complete the application form and send it to: Student Services, Swindon College, North Star Avenue, Swindon SN2 1DY. Alternatively, if you attend a Swindon school, you may be asked to hand in the application form as your school will send it to us on your behalf.

Step 2

We will write to you within four weeks of receiving your application, inviting you to attend an interview. Your parents / carers are welcome to attend with you. Interviews normally start from November for courses starting in September the following year.

Step 3

At the interview you will be given an offer which may be subject to your exam results in August. In some subjects you may be asked to complete an assessment task. If there are other courses that you are interested in, you can tell the tutor at the interview and we will arrange further interviews for you.

Apply online...

Please inform us if you wish to accept our offer once you have decided.

Step 4

Depending on when we receive your application you will be invited in for enrolment either in June or July and you will be enrolled as a Swindon College student. You will be invited to a Welcome Day in early July.

Step 5

In the middle of August you will receive your exam results and you will need to come to college (with grades if relevant) to finalise your enrolment. Don’t worry if you do not achieve the results you hoped for, come and talk to us anyway, as we offer plenty of alternatives.

Step 6

Your college course will start in September and you will begin your induction programme. This will help to familiarise you with the College, your course tutor and other students on your course.
