The Aletsch Glacier is the longest and largest glacier of the Alps. According to glaciologists, most glaciers will have disappeared by the end of this century and only bits of Aletsch will remain. Against the unescapable, the film takes us through a captivating visual and sonic experience in which scale, temporality and our perception of the nature of the images we see, are questioned. A sensory journey to the belly of the glacier.

Even if a familiar phase of togetherness is followed by a rejection of the other person and, accordingly, a sad loneliness, C does not give up. ALAIN UGHETTO Alain Ughetto is a talented director from Marseille who has long made a name for himself on the animated film scene, receiving a César for his short animation film LA BOULE (1984). His clay characters transport the viewer into imaginary worlds, telling stories of often harsh realities. For JASMINE (2013) he was nominated for the European Film Prize, as well as the Feature Film Cristal and the Audience Award at the Annecy Animation Film Festival.

NIDO

Luigi Ughetto and his brothers leave behind their village of Ughettera, the land of the Ughetto family in their native Piedmont, to discover “La Merica”, that fabulous land where dollars grow on trees. Instead of America, it is in Provence that Luigi will set down his bundle. His story is that of hundreds of thousands of Italians who left their homeland to settle in France, Switzerland, Belgium and everywhere else.

1930s: A village in South America wanted to inaugurate its cemetery. Unfortunately, no one died. So the mayor published an ad in the region: “Looking for a corpse for the inauguration of the Miracasas cemetery”. Freshly murdered, Ernesto is the lucky one and takes part in his carnivalesque funeral in spite of himself. The gathered villagers celebrate the event with passion, so intrigued by the idea of death that they put life aside.
