DETCEPXE EXPECTED FALL
ICEMAN
written & directed by Corina Gamma
DER EISMANN
In August 2020, the well-known Swiss polar researcher Konrad Steffen died on the Greenland ice. It is suspected that he fell into a crevasse covered in fresh snow while on a routine trip to a measuring station. To this day, there is no trace of him. Embedded in the breathtaking landscape of the Arctic, the film takes a very personal look at Koni Steffen’s life, his thoughts and his motivation.

SPHERES
written & directed by Daniel Zimmermann
SPHÈRES
A man throws a wooden slat up into the sky. It vanishes on the horizon as the camera slowly rotates once on its own axis. The slat circles the earth and strikes him in the back of the head. What appears to be an act of deliberate self-destruction is in fact the metaphorical dissolution of the ego and the beginning of a metaphysical journey.

QUIR
written & directed by Nicola Bellucci
There is a store in Palermo unlike any other called Quir, a place of love defying any convention. The owners are Massimo and Gino, who have been together for forty-two years, perhaps the longest-lasting gay couple in Italy. Their small leather goods store has become an important meeting place of the local LGBTQI+ scene – here people chat about their love stories or seek advice – fighting for acceptance in Sicily, a stronghold of patriarchal culture.
