Frank burns himself to death at his job in protest against the inhumane working conditions. Two stories emerge from this tragic incident. Léa, Frank’s wife, who is searching for the truth. Igor, an employee who finds the dead body and steals the letter of protest out of fear of losing his job. * 1986 in Switzerland. Wendy Pillonel received a BA in Art Education from the Bern University of the Arts in 2010 and an MA in Film Directing from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2016. She has made several short films e.g.: PARACHUTES (2012), ELDORADO (2013) and MIRAGES (2014). She was one of five directors of the feature-length omnibus film PERIPHERY (2016), which premiered at the Zurich Film Festival.

During a holiday cruise a Swiss sailing yacht encounters a sinking refugee boat. Inspired by the current events in the Mediterranean Sea.
* 1976 in Bern. Joint Swiss and British citizenship. From 1996–99 Marc Raymond Wilkins worked as a production assistant and video operator for Constantin Film, Bavaria Film and Olga Film in Munich. The self-taught director was chosen as one of the world’s top young directors at the “New Directors Showcase” in Cannes 2003. His last short film HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA (2013) was screened at Clermont-Ferrand and won the award at the Festival Séquence court métrage in Toulouse.

The Wolf patrol, led by Julie, a young scout leader, goes off wilderness camping in the mountains. Hugo, a high-ranking scout goes with them to assess the young woman’s leadership skills. While the young wolves have fun, Julie recalls her first camp when Hugo was a handsome, young scoutmaster.
Mime has his old car, his hitchhikers bound for their destinations and his fresh-water fish. They are all he needs. He dreams of leaving, but he does not have the courage to act. Fanfan dreams of learning to swim. He will be able to count on Mime, who is a very capable swimmer. In turn, Fanfan will ask him to jump in the water too. 5

To escape from a lack of perspective in Kosovo, Hana meets Emir, a smuggler in Serbia who will drive her to Hungary. He is known for the festival hit STAMMERING LOVE (2012), which won several awards, such as the Silver Leopard at the Festival del film Locarno.

Consuelo Frauenfelder * 1978 in Geneva. In 2012 Consuelo Frauenfelder founded Garidi Films. She works as film director and film historian. Stefan Lauper * 1977 in Geneva. In 2003 Stefan Lauper received a degree from HEAD-Genève (Haute école d'art et de design). Both have worked together on their last four fiction short films which were screened at festivals such as Neuchâtel Int'l Fantastic Film Festival.

In 2006 Jonas Meier received a degree from the HSLU (Hochschule Luzern, Design & Kunst), video department. He was one of ten directors of the successful feature film WONDERLAND (2015). His short film ALICE IN THE SKY (2013) was selected for Clermont-Ferrand, Oberhausen and Winterthur. The documentary featurelength film MÜRNERS UNIVERSE (2010) premiered at Visions du réel Nyon. He is also known for several music videos.

What The Eye Doesn’t See Pas vu pas pris Frédéric Mermoud
* 1969 in Switzerland. Frédéric Mermoud’s short film THE STAIRCASE (2003) won Best Short Film at the Swiss Film Awards. In 2010 he won the Swiss Film Award in the category Best Screenplay for COMPLICES (2009), a French-Swiss coproduction which premiered in Locarno. Together with Ursula Meier, Lionel Baier and Jean-Stéphane Bron he cofounded Bande à part Films, Lausanne. His last feature film MOKA (2016) won the Variety Piazza Grande Award at Festival del film Locarno.
Alice, 15, has a date with Mathieu. Her friend Julie lends her a pretty red dress, which does not fit her old sneakers. They set out together in search of the perfect pair of shoes, but nothing turns out as expected. This short lesson in cinema looks into the function of match cut: by showing what a person is looking at, one can understand what that person is feeling.

A satirical portrait of Switzerland which makes use of aesthetic codes inspired by touristic language. The film sarcastically denounces the absurdity of the attractions that attempt to satisfy an insatiable public. It addresses current issues and opens the way for reflections on the future of the alpine landscape.

A film about the importance of friendship.
The skinny, young girl spends her time alone feeding pigeons in the park. But even they fly away from her. Suddenly, company turns up. But the beanpole feels uneasy about the new companionship, so she sets about going to a specialist for parasites.

Jacob Berger * 1963 in Great Britain. Joint Swiss and British citizenship. From 1982–85 Jacob Berger attended the NYU (New York University), Institute of Film and Television. His feature films LOVING FATHER (2002), THAT DAY (2007) and UN JUIF POUR L'EXEMPLE (2016) were selected for Locarno and other international film festivals such as Karlovy Vary, Busan and Tallinn. Samuel & Frédéric Guillaume * 1976 in Switzerland. Both attended one year at the ECAL (École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne), industrial design and cinema. Their film MAX & CO (2007) won the Cristal Prix du Public at Annecy and THE NIGHT OF THE BEAR (2012) won the Animated Eye Award at the Aspen Shortsfest.
Feature filmmaker Jacob Berger and animation directors Sam & Fred Guillaume joined their imagination to create an imaginary museum. Starting with three iconic works by Hans Holbein, Ferdinand Holder and Felix Vallotton, they summoned dozens of paintings, drawings and images, drawn from six centuries of Swiss art, in order to invite us on an unusual, extravagant and poetic voyage through the meanderings of desire, faith, aesthetics, politics and identity.

It does not take long before a hungry caterpillar begins feasting on the tender leaves. The little bird manages to entice the gorger away – and thus begins an adventurous journey.

The film deals with the conflict between the two positions she experienced. One being the person behind the camera trying to catch reality without influencing it, the other as being part of that same reality.

An exploration of the current state of some relevant modernist and governmental buildings in Abidjan, the largest and most important city of Ivory Coast. OUTSIDE THE HERD (2009) was in competiton at Oberhausen, Winterthur and won the Audience Award at International Short Film Festival Sao Paulo.

Corina Schwingruber Ilić * 1981 in Switzerland. Corina Schwingruber Ilić attended the Academy of Fine Arts Belgrade. In 2009 she received a degree from HSLU (Hochschule Luzern, Design & Kunst), video department. Her short film JUST ANOTHER DAY IN EGYPT (2015) – codirected with Nikola Ilić – was nominated for a Swiss Film Award and competed at several festivals.
Snow, ice, sweat and the sound of chainsaws. Every four years, over a period of three months in winter, wood is cut in a steep mountain forest above Lake Aegeri in the Canton of Zug and prepared for log rafting. Neither technology nor progress has been able to replace this traditional craft.
Thomas Horat * 1964 in Switzerland. Since 2010 Thomas Horat has made three feature-length documentary films. IN THE WOODS is based on the footage of his film THE LOG RAFTERS OF LAKE AEGERI (2016).

In a time of great transition, their lifestyle is subdued to lasting transformations. Against their will, the authorities try to dislocate them into newly built concrete buildings. * 1980 in Switzerland. In 2007 Jonas Scheu received his BA from HEAD-Genève (Haute école d’art et de design), Geneva. Since 2014 he is enrolled in the MA studies in film directing at HEAD and ECAL. His last two films HLADIVODE – COOLING WATERS (2016) and AMRIT NECTAR OF IMMORTALITY – A JOURNEY TO THE KUMBH MELA (2012) were screened at several international festivals.

A journey from the civilizing void of the desert to a maximal urban, capitalistic and hedonistic density, which in the case of Las Vegas assumes some bizarre expression. The film is a contemplation without any people or moving machines in it, focusing on the built and designed. * 1975 in Switzerland. In 2004 Aurèle Ferrier received a BA in Theatre and in 2014 an MA in Fine Arts, both from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). He works as an artist and filmmaker and has exhibited his work internationally. His film INFRASTRUCTURES (2014) won, among others, the Grand Jury Award for Experimental Short at the 2016 edition of the Slamdance Film Festival.
