The story of three men of Turkish descent who grew up in Switzerland but never got a Swiss passport. After run-ins with the law they are deported to the country where their parents originally came from, a place they hardly know. Not only do the men find themselves in a country where they feel like complete strangers, they also have to cope with life in a society that is moving quickly toward a dictatorship. The film explores different concepts of cultural and national identity. What would happen if everything stopped? If the engine gears of the economy jammed for good? The Japanese island of Ikeshima is a place that seems to be ahead of its time, showing us a possible future. The few remaining inhabitants live in a surreal setting, clinging firmly to a normality that seems however to escape them. A dreamlike journey, which forces us to think about our relationship with the planet but also about social isolation and loneliness.

written & directed by Salomé Jashi 12

A powerful man, who is also the former Prime Minister of Georgia, buys some 100-year-old trees. His men uproot them, and bring them to his private garden: through villages, over hills and across the Black Sea. To archieve this, other trees must be cut, electric cables moved and new roads paved through mandarin plantations. The film takes the concept of uprooting from its metaphorical meaning to an oppressive, tangible and yet surreal reality. An ode to the rivalry between men and nature.

In a hidden place where time seems suspended, a retirement home reveals its daily routine. Drawn in pencil, the residents come to life on paper. Time fades away and nearby, the forest stretches out.

Now he has to decide. With the referee Fedayi San we experience the highs and lows of a football game, what it means to earn respect on the field and to direct the energy of an entire stadium.
