BUYER’S INFORMATION
SILENT AUCTION The Silent Auction will take place in the Coates Chapel. Please refer to the “Silent Auction” section for a description of the lots to be offered in the Silent Auction. All bids are binding. Please read “Buyer Information” and “Conditions of Sale and Disclaimers” before bidding.
AUCTION ARRANGEMENT BY LOTS, AS DESCRIBED IN THE CATALOG Wines and Luxury items are grouped as lots and fully described. Lots are identified by a unique number, and the quantity offered within the lot is beneath the description. Donor name is listed beneath the description. Any special conditions or restrictions are noted either in the catalog or in an addendum available by request or at registration the evening of the auction. Unless otherwise announced by the Auctioneer at the time of sale, all bids are per lot as numbered in the printed catalog or addendum. Bidding increments are specific by lot and shall be clearly identified at the time of auction.
SILENT AUCTION BIDDING A brief description of the item, specific terms / conditions of purchase and a bidding sheet will be displayed for each auction item. To bid on an item, guests should list their name and phone number in the area provided on the bid sheet. Bidding must begin at the starting level. Bids must be advanced in increments indicated on the individual bid sheets. Silent Auction bidding will close at 8:00 P.M. When the Silent Auction closes, the highest bidder on the bidding sheet will be considered to have purchased the item. If two or more bidders are still competing on a Silent Auction item at the close of bidding, the last name on the bidding sheet shall become the fixed price for the auction item. All items must be paid for before the items will be released in accordance with the terms stated under “Buyer Information”. LIVE AUCTION The Live Auction will take place in the Elizabeth Huth Coates Chapel at 8:15 P.M. Please turn to the “Live Auction” section for a description of the lots to be offered in the Live Auction. All bids are binding. Please read “Buyer Information” and “Conditions of Sale and Disclaimers.” LIVE AUCTION BIDDING Bidding will be by “raising your paddle during the live auction” and having the auctioneer or other officials recognize the bid. Wine and other items are offered per lot. Lot opening bids are not necessarily an indication of the item's value. Live auction bidding increments will be determined at the discretion of the auctioneer. Should a dispute arise between bidders, or should the auctioneer doubt the validity of any bid, the auctioneer shall have the absolute right to resolve the dispute, re-offer, re-sell or withdraw the lot in question. All items must be paid for in accordance with the terms stated under “Buyer Information.”
ESTIMATED VALUE / FEDERAL INCOME TAX INFORMATION An estimated value is printed with each Live Auction lot. These values are intended as a rough guide and do not constitute a valuation for tax deduction or fair market value. Amounts paid for wine are deductible for federal income tax purposes only to the extent such amounts exceed the fair market value. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to establish the amount of such excess, if any. Southwest School of Art is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. PAYMENT The full purchase price of all auction lots won will be charged the day of the auction. All payments shall be in cash, certified or cashier’s check, accepted credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card) or personal check with proof of identity. All checks for items purchased shall be made payable to Southwest School of Art. The purchaser may be required to pay Texas state and local retail taxes at the rate applicable at the time of purchase. STANDARD NOTICES Southwest School of Art reserves the right to refuse admission to the premises and the auction subject to its discretion. Any statement as to authorship, attribution, origin, date, age, provenance and condition is a statement or representation of fact. Southwest School of Art reserves the right, in forming their opinion to consult and rely upon any expert or authority considered by them to be reliable.
CONDITIONS OF SALE & DISCLAIMERS The printed catalog, as amended by addendums and announcements during the sale, constitutes the entire statement of SSA relative to the wines listed herein. The following Conditions of Sale are the complete terms and conditions of which all wines are listed herein shall be offered for sale, sold or purchased. The wines will be offered and sold by Southwest School of Art. 1.
All property is sold “as is” and Southwest School of Art makes no warranties or representations of any kind or nature with respect to the property, and in no event shall be responsible or liable for the correctness of the catalog or other description of, nor deemed to have made any representation of assumption of liability with respect hereto.

Southwest School of Art reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time before or at the sale or to combine two or more lots.

Unless otherwise announced by the Auctioneer at the time of sale all bids are per lot as numbered in the printed catalog. After the sale, Southwest School of Art’s sale record & invoice shall be conclusive in all respects.

When Auctioneer declares an item “sold”, the highest bidder shall be deemed to have purchased the offered Lot in accordance with all conditions set forth herein and, there, upon (a) Assume full risk and responsibility therefore, (b) Will sign a confirmation therefore, and (c) Will pay the full purchase price therefore. All wines shall be removed from the premises by the purchaser’s expense immediately after the Auction. The purchaser must be present with personal identification. None of the auction wines may be opened or consumed on Southwest School of Art premises according to TABC regulations.
SPECIAL NOTICE WINE LOTS Wines are described in this catalog as correctly as can be ascertained at the time of going to press, but buyers of old wines must make appropriate allowances for natural variations of ullage, conditions of cork and wine. No returns will be accepted. TRIP FEATURES AND ACCOMODATIONS Our trips are comprised of donated accommodations, meals and other amenities. Many of these arrangements have limitations and restrictions that are beyond our control. All are subject to availability. Therefore, you must be flexible in making your travel plans. Accommodations, meals and other amenities are described as accurately as possible in the catalog. Gratuities and taxes are not included in auction lots. Unless specifically stated in the auction lot listing, beverages, meals, transportation (air or ground) and certain activities are not included. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to make all travel arrangements, unless specified in the auction redemption certificate.
