work process The design typically begins with an initial in-depth consultation with our clients to develop a full understanding of the needs and desires for the project. Our approach to project is valued based from the earliest concept, all decisions are made with an eye to constructability and the goal of achieving a crisp, clean built product. The goals for the project begin to take shape which complies with the RIBA Plan of Work 2013 requirements on Stage 0-7. These stages will be covered prior to project commencement.

All projects are structured around the RIBA Plan of Work which runs from Stage 1 (Strategic Definition) to Stage

RELATIONSHIPS As professionals we have a responsibility to coach our clients about the architect’s role and responsibility as well as the design and construction process. Cultivating an environment of education fosters trust, creates good communication, relieves frustration, and builds successful relationships with our clients. A good working relationship between the architect and client is crucial to the success of any project. When working with an architect, the value is there from the start in terms of time and money saved during the project.

ALIGNING EXPECTATIONS

+

Laying the Foundation for Success

+ relationship strategy = Charting the architect-Client Relationship in design process

We wish to establish an environment in which educating the client about the role of architects, building design and construction is routine. Hence, our aim is to take the opportunity to align architectural design and client expectations and to give the project team some options for managing the risks, and to define how we, as designers, can meet or exceed those expectations in order to have a satisfied client and a successful project outcome.

COMPANY STRUCTURE

FINANCIAL STRUCTURE Projects vary in size and complexity. Most of the projects that we complete have been supported by a Full Architectural Service as defined by the RIBA Plan of Work . Once the client has decided that they wish to proceed, we will confirm the project particulars by letter and these details will form the basis of a standard RIBA 2010 Domestic Project Agreement (2012 Amendment), which together with the RIBA Small Project Services Schedule (2013) sets out the services included, appointment conditions, duties and fees.
