THE ALLEGORY SQUARE A Small-scaled Project Designed for Specific Group in 2019

A coworking space has a dynamic spatial design and occupant behaviours. This project is an exploration of phenomenology for two groups of people sharing a work place. They are a group of environmentalists and female rakugo performers, who joined in hand to increase public education on sustainable living. The architecture serve as a nest for preparation of voices before they went out to the public. Therefore manipulation of space, material, and light will facilitate the occupant as they practice, debate and learn.

The key driver of this high rise design is ‘projection’. We aim to celebrate the north sunlight and view towards historical Carlton Garden. The envelope concept emphasis the protruted triangular slab, sloping crown and triangular sunshade. Each elements are designed to accommodate the site microclimate and ease of construction.

Hybrid Architecture Group Project with Bolin & Monica in 2019

The proposed design is for an waste facility in the front door of the University of Melbourne. The project started from the problem of food waste among students and the distasteful nature of waste. Therefore, the architectural

concept is to blur the boundary; where spaces of waste facility and educational institution are integrated. This building is used by academics, publics and industry where they will engage with waste management directly.

4 KINGFISHER’S HAVEN

Biomimicry Project with Hafiz Azman, Kim Doohon & Shqipe Memishi in 2018

The computationally designed bird nest is a ‘synthetic simulation’ of a hollowed eucalyptus tree, a natural home for kingfishers. The form is derived by scripting of grasshopper; kangaroo and anemone had created multitude possibilities of bird’s nest system, unique to each variables feed. The prototypes are fabricated by using CNC milling and wood, as it is the most appropriate medium to create the desired biomorphic rustication. Role: Designing rustication elements, researching precedents, fabricating details and finishes, technical documentation, photographs,

5 COBURG MOSQUE AND COHOUSING Mixed-used Residential Project in 2020

This project is an exploration in the role of dwelling and sacred space. The site is a quite, low density gentrified suburb. Analysis from research shows an increase of Muslim community in the area. However, social marginalisation has made it difficult for underemployed Muslim women to work or

own a house. This architecture will empower the community growth in social, economic and spiritual needs. Principles of passive haus standards was used throughout the design process, including a calculation on energy performance. THE IDEA OF GROWING

SITE PLAN AND GROUND FLOOR

The project is to add the 21st-century urban school as part of University High School, including a sports complex. The state-funded school had projected an increase in student numbers in near future. The site centred between residential area, innovative centres and public transportation systems provide opportunities for the school to be a community centre. Hence, with student well-being as the focus, the proposed design is structured to encourage interactions between students, teachers and peers.
