Bringing love into your home Now that the Christmas decorations are put away, start decorating for the next major event, Valentine's Day. There are lots of ways to bring love into your home, so that your family and friends feel loved. After all, Valentine's Day doesn't have to be just for boyfriends and girlfriends, or even for husbands and wives. Valentine's Day is a great time to give your children, friends, and everyone you love a little extra attention. Realistically, we don't need a special day to let people know we love them, but since Valentine's Day is on it's way, we might as well make the most of it. Here are a few ideas how to start: 1. Flowers are versatile. There are so many things you can do and we will elaborate on flowers a bit later, but fresh flowers eg: Red Roses are a given that express love. Have a nice bouquet of red roses in the centre of your kitchen table. 2. Heart shape ornaments 3. Make rose potpourri and place them in decorative bowls and put it into the guest bedrooms. 4. Get some wooden heart shape wreaths and hang them on your wall or in front of your door. Grey, white and natural ones with the letters LOVE on – there are plenty available in flower and decorating shops locally. 5. Heart shape cushions on a chair in a corner 6. Cushions on your couch in the living room with messages of love on it. 7. If you have a black board in your kitchen, you can write love messages on there.

8. Candles are always romantic and express the feeling of love. 9. Fresh fruit in a nice heart shape bowl will make the room feel fresh 10.Host a Valentine's Day Dinner or party for friends and family at your home using paper balloon decorations and decorate your table expressing love. You can prepare your meals the same way. 11.Having fresh flowers in your bedroom for Valentine's day will say more than just words. Decorating your home for different seasons and holidays helps keep your home fresh. It gives you and your family something to look forward to with each holiday that passes. It also gives you an excuse to dust your furniture and move things around a bit if you like. You can go all out with your decorations or you can choose to simply add a few simple things here and there. Either way, decorating for various holidays can be fun so enjoy it and enjoy life.

Romantic ideas for rose petals at home Petals from a rose, widely considered the most romantic flower, increases the romance of any intimate situation. This classic romantic gesture is a simple, but unforgettable one. 1. Run a hot bath and add the rose petals to the water. Adding a lot sets the mood. Light floral scented candles around the bathroom and turn off the lights. This intimate bath will be like no other. 2. If you own a hot tub, float rose petals atop the water. You may want to leave the jets off for the time being so that your filter doesn't fill up with rose petals. If you have room on the sides of the hot tub, light a few candles for added intimacy. 3. If you have a pool rather than a hot tub, float them in there. You won't be able to use as many, but the lights from the pool reflecting on the rose petals will be romantic
none the less. For a little extra excitement, try skinny dipping in your rose covered pool. 4. Spreading rose petals all over your bed. Die jaar 2011 is so uit soos ‘n kers. En dankie tog daarvoor. Dit was een van die jare wat nog lank by my gaan spook – een van beproewing en senuwees van staal. En ek glo vir baie van ons lesers ook. Practical steps to an easier home purchase
Buying a home can be an emotional, time-consuming, and complex process. Planning helps you to focus on the positive. Here a few things that you can do to make the process go more smoothly.
Get pre-qualified before you buy Getting pre-qualified by FNB Home Loan is simply getting an idea of the price range you can afford. It is based on your stated net monthly income. With an Upfront Bond Certificate, your information is not verified and the loan you are pre-qualified for is not guaranteed. Do your homework on the area You might find a home in a neighborhood that you're not familiar with, which is fine. It just means that you'll have to do a bit more homework. If you find a property that you like, ask for a list of the neighborhood properties that sold in the last year. How does your home rank? Is it at the top of the price range? If so, it might be hard to resell. Is it average, or on the low end? If so, great - as the other home prices go up in value, they will pull your home's value up as well. Find out about the schools. Are they sought after? A good school district means your neighborhood will always be valued by families which is a great reassurance to purchase, not to mention the fact that you'll be well placed if you have school-age children. Talk to the neighbors. The more people you talk to, the better sense you will get of the people in the area and how they will affect your time spent in it. Check out the location of the shopping, police and fire stations, 8

schools, and air traffic overhead. These are all things that might affect your property value and quality of life. Protect yourself Ask your estate agent for a copy of the documents you will be asked to sign if you decide to buy the property. Read them ahead of time so that you understand the questions that you will be asked, the things you need to know, and the decisions you will need to make. If buying Sectional Title, ask the agent to provide you with up to date Body Corporate Financial Statements. Check to see that the levies are not arrears. Keep your expectations realistic You're about to spend a big amount. And no house is perfect. Understanding and remembering these two statements will help diffuse the negotiation and the closing stage. Emotions can sometimes run high for both buyers and sellers. The seller may have loving memories and years of sweat equity in the house. Maybe they are being relocated and don't want to leave. Understanding their motivations for selling will help you to empathize with their situation. There are meaningful sums of money at stake for all parties involved (and that includes your estate agent). Just remember that market value (the value of a home) is the price that a willing buyer and a willing seller can agree to. If you cannot agree on a price, ask yourself: is there something you might have missed? Are there comparables that support the price that they want? Are there motivations that might factor into the price they are demanding? In the end, does it matter? What is the house worth to you today and what do you think you
can reasonably sell it for based on the amount of time you plan to spend in it? Think about the answers to those questions before you make your move. No house is perfect. Always get an inspection. It might cost a few hundred dollars, but it's worth it. It's the inspector's job to find any problems with the house that could cost you thousands to repair, down the line. Some inspectors have a tendency to overplay the importance of their role and the items that they find. Get objective opinions that you trust before making a decision on an inspection report. Likewise, if an inspector says a foundation is cracked but it's nothing to worry about, get a second opinion. Ask a handyman for an idea of how much repairs will cost and how complex they are.

Are you lawyer hunting? We have thought it wise to work together with Housefinder Magazine in educating the general public in the general principles of the law. So often you hear people saying “Talk to my lawyer”. Now what do you do if they call your bluff and ask you who your lawyer is, but you don't have one? You will surely be the laughing stock of the town. Choosing a lawyer can be tricky and very confusing. Where do you start if you've never used a lawyer before? We have some tips for you in choosing a lawyer or a firm of lawyers to represent you. The first thing you need to decide is if you want to use a lawyer for one isolated instance only or whether you would like to appoint a lawyer or a firm that you might want to use when various matters comes up in future as well. You can then use such firm for estate planning, contracts, conveyancing, business transactions, labour matters, criminal matters, civil litigation, etc. The list of topics are quite extensive. Choose a lawyer with a good track record. Ask around for people's opinions who has had similar
problems than the problem you are experiencing. Be mindful of lawyers that promise you unattainable results as this might cost you a whole lot more in the long run. What you want is a lawyer that is prepared to give you a honest, straight-forward and objective opinion based on the applicable law governing your situation. Also remember that lawyers become more expensive as they gain more experience. This might influence your decision if costs is a consideration. Sometimes a less complicated matter can just as easily be handled by a less experienced lawyer. In such instance it is good to have a particular firm that have lawyers specialising in all the different fields of the law. They may then refer you to a competent colleague within the firm, which means you don't need to do all the paperwork all over again. It also saves you time. Lastly sit face to face with the lawyer and frankly discuss the issues of costs, game plan and requirements with him or her. Remember that your lawyer's case (your case in other words) is only as strong as the evidence can prove. Your lawyer is just that – a lawyer, not a magician. Give him or her all the facts so that they can work out the best legal strategy for you. Always remember that most everything you share with your lawyer is privileged information and can therefore not be divulged to third parties without your consent. Summer chicken, basil & roasted tomato pasta
You will need: 4 Chicken breast fillets 1 Packet pasta shapes 1 Packet cocktail Roma tomatoes 4 Cloves garlic Olive oil Crushed black pepper Ina Paarman seasoned sea salt Ina Paarman pasta spice Garlic, parmesan & origanum Seasoning Fresh basil Parmesan cheese
Boil pasta until al dente, drain & season with Ina Paarman pasta spice. Place chicken fillets between 2 pieces of plastic wrap and beat out until flattened (you may enjoy this part!!!). Cut each breast into 3 pieces. Season with Ina Paarman seasoned sea salt and panfry in olive oil until just cooked through.

Something fishy! The benefits of seaweed as fertilizer Three excellent products by EFEKTO: • SEAGRO – well known and trusted by all enthusiastic gardeners. PLANT HORMONES
Last but not least, the ocean contains the most complete variety of PLANT MINERALS which are absorbed by seaweed thus improving the soil and overall health of plants.
The plant hormones found in kelp (one of the main seaweeds used in the above fertilizers) help to regulate proper germination as well as standardizing the healthy development of the plant from stem formation to leaf growth, flowering and ripening of fruit. To increase germination rates and long term healthy plants, seeds can be soaked in a seaweed fertilizer solution. HIGH CARBOHYDRATE CONTENT in seaweed fertilizers are essential building blocks in growing plants and in addition feed the beneficial micro organisms in the soil which results in healthy soil with available nutrients more easily absorbed by the plants.
