SYDNEY YOUTH ORCHESTRA UK TOUR WEDNESDAY 10–THURSDAY 25 APRIL 2019 ARTS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM
Arts Administrators will have the unique opportunity to experience an international orchestral tour and will be given the chance to meet with leading figures in the UK music industry who are working in concert venues, for symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras and artist agencies. The program will accept a maximum of 8 participants.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS FACILITATED CONVERSATIONS & NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES: The program will include facilitated conversations and networking opportunities with leading arts organisations in the UK. The topics covered will include: • • • • •
Career development and progression; Orchestra management and logistics; Concert event management; Artist liaison and management; Orchestral and venue programming.
CONCERT & TOUR MANAGEMENT: The participants will gain practical experience in the operations of an orchestral tour including: • • •
Understanding the day-to-day logistics of an international tour; Assisting with the stage management of workshops and concerts: Liaising with orchestral musicians, venue staff and SYO orchestral operations colleagues.
ATTENDING CONCERTS: The participants will attend concerts by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales; Hallé Orchestra, Manchester; Philharmonia Orchestra; London Symphony Orchestra; BBC Symphony Orchestra (depending on final concert schedules). SIGHTSEEING: Visit Cardiff Castle and Blenheim Place and explore the stunning and fascinating cities of Manchester, London, Cambridge and Oxford.
