Norman Foster
Edited by Frédéric Migayrou
Norman Foster is a globally recognized figure in architecture. His agency has created more than 300 projects around the world, many of which have profoundly marked and transformed the cities and landscapes in which they reside. This new monograph, published in partnership with the Centre Pompidou, presents more than 80 of Foster’s key projects, from the Cockpit (1964), a private house in Cornwall, through to Spaceport America (2006-2014), the world’s first terminal for space tourists, built in the desert landscape of New Mexico. Each project is illustrated with drawings, sketches and photographs, placed alongside insightful text. The book also features an essay by Frédéric Migayrou, curator of an attendant Centre Pompidou exhibition on Foster; a biography by celebrated architectural critic, Philip Jodidio; and an extensive interview with Foster himself. Foster has also contributed an anthology of six analytical texts, written across the broad span of his career.

The Architecture of Sir Edwin Lutyens
Volume 2: Gardens, Delhi, Washington
A.S.G. Butler. With George Stewart and Christopher Hussey
Edwin Lutyens was one of the most famous architects of the 20th century. After he died in 1944, three large volumes of his drawings and photographs were commissioned and published by Country Life as a tribute. All three volumes are in the process of being reissued. Having earned his reputation designing domestic buildings, he was soon given scope to expand his practice to the outdoors and to public projects. This second volume contains his extensive contributions to garden design and town planning, as well as the finest examples of his bridges and a selection of monumental civic constructions. These include various university buildings, the Johannesburg Art Gallery, the Washington Embassy and the Viceroy’s Palace in New Delhi. The genius of Lutyens is now universally recognized. In the work featured in this book, we can now see not just the professionalism of a great architect, but also the loving care with which he set down the most minute detail, with the result that this is one of the few books in existence that can be used to provide working drawings.
Also available: The Architecture of Sir Edwin Lutyens: Volume 1, Country Houses ISBN 9781788842181.
One of the most famous architects of the 20th century,
meticulous second volume of Lutyens’ work presents his garden designs, town planning, and monumental public buildings. Includes the Johannesburg Art Gallery, the Washington Embassy and the Viceroy’s Palace in New Delhi.
Living Tradition
The Architecture and Urbanism of Hugh Petter
Clive Aslet, photography by Dylan Thomas
Living Tradition: The Architecture and Urbanism of Hugh Petter celebrates the exceptional professional achievement of one of the world’s leading traditional architects. It showcases recent highlights from Hugh’s awardwinning portfolio, including handsome new country houses; major alterations and refurbishment of historic buildings; a significant new building for Trinity College in Oxford; and commercial development at all scales with landed estates across the UK and beyond. His pioneering work as master-planner for the Duchy of Cornwall is regularly cited as an exemplar of a community that reflects local identity. Written by Clive Aslet, with a foreword by The Former Prince of Wales, this book reveals how a series of iconic buildings came to be.
Richly illustrated with newly commissioned photography by Dylan Thomas, one of Britain’s foremost photographers of architecture and interiors, this book reveals the working process of the architect. Common to all the buildings in this book - whether a new or historic private house, a public building, or a masterwork of urban design - is a loving attention to detail and materials, and an architect who cares deeply for his craft.
For the first time, Hugh Petter - one of the most successful traditional architects of his generation - reveals the journey behind the buildings he has designed and collaborated on. This book showcases his portfolio, from thoughtful renovations of country houses, to inspiring new builds, to innovative sustainable town planning.

High Desert Retreat Aidlin Darling Design Aidlin Darling Design
Starting with the question “How to create a residence within this beautiful desolate site while also creating a respectful compliment to the existing ecology”, Aidlin Darling Design created a soulful environment on a bluff in the high desert. Overlooking the Coachella Valley, the resulting structure nestles tightly into a constellation of existing boulders. The residence is a composition of three fundamental elements: a floating roof plane, a collection of wooden volumes, and a pair of concrete anchor walls. The stunning result is testament to the ethos of the firm to design for all the senses. The home became a framing device in which the sensuality of the surrounds is highlighted, and the boulders, Pinyon Trees and the distant mountain ranges became sculptures and paintings to be appreciated from within. The design is exceedingly crisp in its geometry, providing an intentional contrast to the organic forms of the desert. This book takes the reader through the journey from design conception to the realization.

The Art of Creating Houses Polhemus Savery DaSilva
Text by John R. DaSilva, foreword by Brian Vanden Brink, introduction by Victor Deupi PhD
The work of Polhemus Savery DaSilva (PSD) synthesizes ideas from modernism, Shingle Style, and New England vernacular architecture into special homes that are carefully crafted for each different site and client. PSD’s poetic architecture reflects on the joy of living by the New England coast, and this major new monograph, The Art of Creating Houses: Polhemus Savery DaSilva, beautifully presents that work and the ideas embodied within it. This lavishly illustrated and clearly written coverage of PSD’s most recent work features 27 select homes designed and built by the firm.
This new volume is a brilliant companion to the firm’s earlier monographs, namely Living Where Land Meets the Sea, Shingled Houses in the Summer Sun, and Architecture of the Cape Cod Summer

New Heights Transforming Seattle’s Iconic Space Needle Olson Kundig
The initial project wasn’t supposed to be about architecture but rather a revamped, interactive website for the Space Needle, designed to counteract declining visitor appreciation. The Century Project at the Space Needle by Olson Kundig, however, reestablishes the beloved tower as a forward-looking symbol of Seattle. The renovated tower is a marvel of architecture and engineering, and pushes the boundaries of what is possible. The revamped structure gives a new perspective on the changing urban landscape while preserving views of the familiar mountains and waterways that surround Seattle. This compelling narrative takes you behind the scenes of how the work was achieved.

Drawn From Nature
The Flowering of Irish Botanical Art
Patricia Butler, foreword by Dr Shirley Sherwood, OBE
For centuries, artists of all disciplines have expressed delight in nature through the highly skilled and captivating medium of botanical art. The distinguished contributions of Irish botanical artists include records of plants from 17thcentury Ireland, early illustrated floras and botanical art found in the field of design. Drawn from Nature: The Flowering of Irish Botanical Art also covers the importance of botanical art to the Ordnance Survey of Ireland during the 19th century, as well as the vital plant portraits produced by Irish women. These portraits assisted generations of botanists in understanding and describing the natural world but received scant recognition. Published for the first time, these outstanding examples of Irish botanical art, from both public and private collections, demonstrate a shared desire by botanical artists to observe, illuminate and record Ireland’s unique flora. This book finally affords them the recognition they deserve.

The History of the Art Deco Style
Alastair Duncan
This grand opus assembles the people and the pieces at the heart of the Art Deco movement at each stage of its enduring appeal. The History of the Art Deco Style is richly illustrated with the work of legendary designers and decorators Eileen Grey, Paul Iribe, Antoine Bourdelle, Armand-Albert Rateau and Jean Dunand, among others. Ever since its early 20th-century origins, Art Deco has fascinated and amused socialites, collectors and designers. Referred to at the time as moderne, the style largely took shape around a clientele of French fashion industry luminaries and wealthy international collectors. Art historians christened it during a second wave in the ’60s, while a third generation of afficionados entered the auction houses of the ’80s and ’90s, ready to invest in the most exquisite examples.
Curated by art consultant and author Alastair Duncan, this detailed historical account is the gold-standard visual guide to the decorative arts.
MUSE
A Portrait of Grayson Perry Richard Ansett
Grayson Perry is an award-winning artist best known in the art world for his ceramic vases. To the wider public, he is perhaps equally famous for his crossdressing and especially for his alter ego Claire. This book reveals a unique relationship between Perry and renowned portrait photographer Richard Ansett through a previously unseen archive of photoshoots spanning over 10 years. Ansett astutely captures the wit, style and irreverence of Perry’s many complex personas. Beyond the snazzy outfits and cheeky poses, these thematic portrait collections offer wry social commentaries on current and popular phenomena, including the EU referendum, American pop culture and the existential questions of life and death. At once glossy, fabulous and cutting-edge, Muse: A Portrait of Grayson Perry places Claire in the limelight she has long deserved. With anecdotes and narration from Ansett himself, this is a masterpiece of rhetorical observations and quick-thinking camerawork. Perfect for art geeks, style freaks and Perry’s long-devoted following.

Victorian Art, Fashion & Design
Edited by Charlotte Ribeyrol and Matthew Winterbottom
Contrary to the monochrome vision of Queen Victoria’s mourning dresses and the coal-polluted streets of Charles Dickens’ London, Victorian Britain was, in fact, a period of new and vivid colors. The Industrial Revolution had transformed the Victorians’ perception of color and, over the course of the second half of the 19th century, it became the key signifier of modern life. Colour Revolution: Victorian Art, Fashion & Design charts the Victorians’ new attitudes to color through a multidisciplinary exploration of culture, technology, art and literature. The catalogue explores key ‘chromatic’ moments that inspired Victorian artists and writers to think anew about the materiality of color. Rebelling against the bleakness of the industrial present, these figures learned from the sacred colors of the past, the sumptuous colors of the Middle East and Japan and looked forward towards the decadent colors that defined the end of the century.

Mark Rothko
Edited by Suzanne Pagé
This illustrated catalog is published to accompany the retrospective exhibition devoted to American artist Mark Rothko, curated by Suzanne Pagé and the artist’s son, Christopher Rothko. The show will feature over 100 works. Born Markus Rothkowitz in Latvia in the early 20th-century, the man who would soon become known as Mark Rothko began painting in the 1930s. While his early works were influenced by mythology and Surrealism, his first abstract paintings emerged in the 1940s with the Multiform series, followed by his Classic Years and the Black and Gray paintings. A key figure on the New York art scene, Rothko was an uncategorizable artist who deployed an extensive palette of color and light with a talent that consistently triggers emotion. His great sensitivity shaped a poetic, enigmatic universe that leaves no one untouched.
Lucio Fontana Enrico Crispolti, Luca Massimo Barbero
Lucio Fontana (1899-1968), is universally acknowledged as one of the foremost figures in the generation of artists who, in the 1950s and ‘60s, helped bring about a radical conceptual and linguistic change in contemporary art. The role he played was explored by scholars and critics in the early years of the postwar period, and his work constituted a model for the younger generation of artists in Europe. In the past two decades, Fontana has achieved significant international renown. The essays in this catalog by Enrico Crispolti, Luca Massimo Barbero, Caterina Toschi and Piero Dorazio offer insights into the origins and characteristics of Spatialism, the artistic movement Fontana founded, which synthesized color, sound, space, movement, and time into a new type of art.

Grand Tour of Europe
Nicholas Foulkes, Fernando Mazzocca, Attilio Brilli
The Grand Tour, a journey of culture and amusement across Europe, was a common practice from the 17th century to the first quarter of the 19th century. This book, then, reviews the stages of a tour that has left its mark on European culture. The opening essay, by Nicholas Foulkes, reviews the significance of the Grand Tour for international culture, especially British culture. Next, Fernando Mazzocca reviews its artistic coordinates, while Attilio Brilli explores some of the more obscure but intriguing aspects of the Grand Tour, with an intriguing selection of literary excerpts, a lively travel anthology. Accompanying the texts is a carefully curated selection of images, with works by many of the leading artists of the period.

Devoted to one of the best-known itineraries of the past, this volume tells the story of the Grand Tour and its repercussions on the history of European art and culture.
This volume retraces the history of libraries and their transformation into temples of knowledge, underscoring the almost sacred beauty of some of these buildings, and follows the evolution of the concept of book, library and librarian. The text by art historian António Filipe Pimentel focuses on Portuguese libraries. Last but not least, Alberto Manguel describes the ups and downs of his personal library, establishing a connection with the universal history of libraries. Stunning photographs by Massimo Listri, portraying the most beautiful and picturesque rooms and ambiences of historic libraries, with a particular focus on Portuguese ones, complete the volume.
Roger Caillois, Marguerite Yourcenar, Carlo Ossola, Stefano Salis, François Farges
The Italian painter Ugo Celada (18951995) has enigmatically and at length remained outside of the circle of renowned artistic names. Faithful to the atelier practices common among the old masters and yet fully aware of everything happening in his own time, he chose not to compete, in an era (the two decades of Fascist rule) when not taking a militant position meant being relegated to the sidelines. This book offers a rediscovery of his art, and through essays by two art historians who places his work in a context that goes beyond the merely contingent, he establishes himself in the setting of a Tradition. It is with the great Italian masters of centuries past that Celada establishes a fertile and enduring dialogue, albeit ideal. What emerges, thanks to a selection of images of his creations, is the profile of a painter at once venerable and modern.
Even though they belong to the mineral kingdom, the stones in the collection of the French writer Roger Caillois appear miraculously similar to works of art. The book collects a carefully curated selection of the finest stones in the collection and recounts the life of Caillois, reviewing and presenting his essays on stones. The persona and the personality of this atypical 20th-century intellectual emerge from the essay by Stefano Salis, who introduces us to Caillois’ world and that of Marguerite Yourcenar, who took his place in the Académie de France after his death with a speech reviewing his life and work. The literary critic Carlo Ossola traces the outlines of the cultural climate in which Caillois lived and operated, while François Farges, now in charge of the collection, illustrates it in the final essay. 9791280294173

Fools & Folly in Flemish Art Larry Silver
In contrast to the peasant, the fool escapes the existing order. He holds up a mirror to the self-declared wise citizens, because ‘the fool reveals the truth through laughter’, even though it may be hidden between piss and shit, sex and snot. It is for precisely this reason that Erasmus, in his In Praise of Folly writes not as himself but through the persona of Folly, a broad back behind which the wise person can hide when he denounces social problems. Laughter thus alters the world.
In this context, the fool and irony became important motifs in medieval art, especially in the Low Countries. This original art book is illustrated with dozens of top-quality works by Flemish masters from worldwide collections.

Hiroshige Nature and the City
John Carpenter, Andreas Marks,
Sasaki, edited by Jim Dwinger
Rhiannon
Paget,
Shiho
Hiroshige. Nature and the City is the most extensive overview of the career of the famed Japanese print artist, Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858) in the English language to date. It is based on the largest collection of Hiroshige in private hands outside Japan, the Alan Medaugh collection. The catalogue consists of 500 entries, with an emphasis on urban and rural landscapes, fan prints and prints of birds and flowers. Grouped chronologically by subject, it presents Hiroshige’s interpretation of the urban scenes from his hometown Edo (present-day Tokyo), the great series documenting travel along the famous highways of Japan, and the idylls of nature as represented in his birdand flower prints. Hiroshige often incorporated poetry in his works and for the first time all textual content is transcribed and translated. Additionally, the catalogue pays due attention to the differences between variant editions of his prints. Thus, it provides essential comparative material for every scholar, dealer, and collector.
Guercino’s Friar with a Gold Earring
Fra Bonaventura Bisi, Painter and Art Dealer
David M. Stone, contributions by Sarah Cartwright
Who is the intriguing man wearing a religious habit and a gold hoop earring in this portrait by Italian Baroque master Il Guercino? And why does he point to a stack of drawings? This fascinating book investigates The Ringling’s portrait of Fra Bonaventura Bisi, a Franciscan Minor Conventual friar whose work as an art dealer, printmaker, and celebrated painter of miniatures made him a major figure in the artistic culture of 17th-century Bologna. Beautifully illustrated, this volume offers new scholarship on both Guercino’s portrait and Fra Bisi’s life, including his extraordinary miniatures, his dogged pursuit of artworks for highranking collectors, his passionate efforts to promote the appreciation and collecting of drawings, and - not least - his incongruous gold hoop earring.
This fascinating book investigates Guercino’s portrait of miniature painter and art dealer Fra Bonaventura Bisi, a Franciscan friar who wears an intriguing gold earring. Accompanies an exhibition at The Ringling, Sarasota FL, from 14 October 2023-21 January 2024.

Tim Bengel Tim Bengel
Tim Bengel is a young German artist. He became known for his imaginative and unique gold and sand collages. Virtually overnight the modern painter took the world’s social media channels by storm. Over 500 million people gave the videos about his art a ‘like’. His famous golden avocado bagel Who wants to live forever was auctioned for 2.9 million dollars. The golden bagel inspired Bengel to look into the topic of superfoods for his next project. And what could be more obvious than to turn to the local superfood, namely the Superfood Kraut. Tim’s portfolio is growing, and his art is unusual and fresh. In addition to his gold sand collages, he also engraves marble tombstones with sometimes meaningful, sometimes humorous words, casting a critical eye on his own life’s journey.
Discover opulent carriages, beautiful routes, great decorators and the technical details of the most decadent trains from around the globe.

Audi at Le Mans
Edited by Delius Klasing
On occasion of the 100th anniversary of the legendary 24-hour race, Audi at Le Mans undertakes an exciting journey into the past. Impressive pictures and loads of background knowledge from the company’s archives tell us about a piece of Audi history.
Starting a new race car series is a challenge for car makers. The 24 hours of Le Mans are known as a severe endurance test for man and machine. And Audi knew how to use the famous long-distance race as a stage for new technologies, all the while living up to their slogan ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ (‘leading by technology’): the fast and reliable Audi models left their competitors in the dust. Also, the first victory of a car with diesel-and-hybrid technology went to the German car brand.

75 Years of Porsche Sports Cars
Frank Jung
Looking back at more than 75 years of making sports cars: Ferdinand ‘Ferry’ Porsche could hardly foresee this kind of success, when he sent his first car into the streets on 8th June 1948: the 356 ‘No. 1’ Roadster. Classic, special model or sports car: this illustrated book takes fans through the Porsche history and, while leafing through, allows readers to look at the changes the famous carmaker went through.
Whether 356, 911 or Boxster: driving Porsche is not just moving from A to B. The Zuffenhausen sports cars embody a unique awareness of life: of freedom, passion and individuality. Legendary models were historic milestones in automobile history. Numerous photographs, curated by Munich photographer and designer Stefan Bogner, depict the steps of the company’s history from the 1950s until today, perfectly staging classic cars and rare models. The extravagant design and fine cover make the book a high-quality gift for every Porsche fan.
Porsche Carrera GT
Porsche Carrera GT
Originally planned for motorsport, just a happy chance landed the Carrera GT on the road: its technical data speak for themselves. The V10 naturally aspirated engine was a masterpiece of Porsche designers, while the chassis got its finishing touches through the fine tuning by rally world champion Walter Röhrl. This richly illustrated Porsche book presents the high-speed sportscar (top-speed 330 km/h) to the detail. A body of carbon-fibrereinforced polymers, carbon-ceramic brakes, the pushrod suspension system: a lot of things distinguish the Porsche Carrera GT from other sportscars. The extra fact book compiles all information on this car – and with the Porsche coffee-table book in a fine box it makes for a brilliant gift for fans. Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Porsche Carrera GT!

Charlotte Perriand An Architect in the Mountains
Jacques Barsac
As early as 1934 Charlotte Perriand began to reflect on the architectural aspects of leisure activities for all, but it was with Les Arcs, her greatest work, that she completed her reflection on the art of living in the mountains. Alongside the developer Roger Godino, Charlotte Perriand displayed all the facets of her immense talent: design, urban planning, but also bioclimatic architecture, of which she was a pioneer. She had to deal with financial and time constraints in order to design most of the Arc 1600 and 1800. Thanks to her perseverance and growing inventiveness, her integration of architecture into the sites, her innovative and human approach to traffic, and the life she breathes into the resort, especially on the rooftops, she has made it a friendly place, in harmony with the environment. Thus, she designs the interior architecture of more than 4,500 homes, 25,000 beds, for an annual flow of more than one million people.

Billie Eilish And the Clothes She Wears Terry Newman
Billie Eilish is a fashion phenomenon. Courted by the world’s biggest fashion houses, Billie has a way of spotlighting inclusivity, body image, environmental issues and more, while always looking awesome. In the latest addition to this popular series, fashion writer Terry Newman casts her eye over a young megastar with oversized clothes and an even bigger attitude. When Billie Eilish burst onto the music scene aged just 14, her outfits told everyone who she was before they’d downloaded a track. Her clothes were large and matched her attitude. Her wardrobe was made up of labels that speak the language of Gen Z and everyone who doesn’t want to be defined by others. Growing up hasn’t changed a thing – though she now has the command of fashion houses the world over. As such, Billie often mixes and matches Chanel, Balenciaga, Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons and Prada with finds from Slumpy Kev, Skoot, The Incorporated and Freak City, and the result is beyond the realms of meta-modernism. It’s a look that might very well bite the hand that feeds it, but Eilish doesn’t care. She wears what she likes when she likes. And we’re here for it.
Taylor Swift And the Clothes She Wears Terry Newman
Taylor Swift is the quintessential millennial. Free-thinking and creative, she navigates pop stardom with boundless charisma and a keen eye on her digital presence. She has become a truly global phenomenon but remains intimately connected with her fans. A born storyteller, her outfits mark the different phases of her whirlwind life every bit as clearly as her songs. From cowboy boots to cottage-core, Saint Laurent to sci-fi, onstage and on the street, her clothes are always carefully chosen to match the moment. These pages reveal those moments in gorgeous photographic detail with reliably astute analysis from the author of Harry Styles and the Clothes He Wears. The latest in a popular celebrity fashion series, this book charts the style evolution of a hyperchic superstar at the vanguard of 21st-century culture.

Christian Dior - Christian Bérard A Cheerful Melancholy
Laurence Bénaïm
Christian Dior and Christian Bérard met at the end of the 1920s. They immediately became friends, nourished by elective affinities and an incredible complementarity. If Christian Dior marks his time with his architectural work as a couturier who will redesign the silhouette of women for a long time, Christian Bérard is a jack of all trades – painter, illustrator, and theater designer for Jean Cocteau among others. Both have a crucial influence on their respective careers. The 1990s Fashion Book
Agata Toromanoff, Pierre Toromanoff
The 1990s Fashion Book is a tribute to the unique fashion of that time. Flashy, colorful, casual and sexy, these were the attributes that applied back then. Top models, hip-hoppers or pop groups like Take That and the Spice Girls exemplified a fashion style that triggered a boom all over the world. It is fair to say that, in retrospect, hardly any other decade has had such a formative effect on modern times as the 1990s. It is considered a decade of revolution, in which almost everything that had existed before changed at breakneck speed. This is when ground-breaking technologies such as the internet or nationwide mobile telephony came into being, without which our lives today would be unimaginable. Modern pop culture and current fashion design originate to a large extent from the cradle of the ‘90s. Sub-trends of the time such as grunge, hip-hop, minimalism, casual chic and deconstructivism are, in retrospect, what continues to have an impact today.

Eden - Garden Designs Marcel Wolterinck
For Marcel Wolterinck – one of the Netherlands’ leading designers –indoors and outdoors are inextricably linked. This is most evident in his all-encompassing projects, in which his studio designs both the interior and exterior of a property as well as the garden. But even when redesigning existing gardens, Wolterinck is focused on ensuring that the outside is a natural extension of the inside. Besides the understated use of color – predominantly green – Wolterinck’s garden designs are characterized by simplicity, balance and contrasts. Sightlines create depth and space, while garden rooms provide a sense of intimacy. Wolterinck typically draws inspiration from the architecture in the immediate vicinity of the house, and then increasingly allows the garden to blend with its natural surroundings towards the edges.
In his latest book, Eden - Garden Designs Wolterinck presents 21 of his gardendesign projects, both in the Netherlands and abroad: from Laren to Crete and from Zwolle to Tel Aviv. Wolterinck shares insights into the thought process behind each design, including his decisions for plants and materials, as the sumptuous photos take you on a journey through his ‘gardens of Eden’.
In his latest book, Wolterinck presents 21 of his gardendesign projects, both in the Netherlands and abroad: from Laren to Crete and from Zwolle to Tel Aviv.

From Bordeaux to the Stars The Reawakening of a Wine Legend
Jean-Michel Cazes. Translated
by Jane Anson
Jean-Michel Caze’s powerful description of the transformation not just of his own family property – the renowned classed growth Château Lynch-Bages, one of the ‘Left Bank’s’ most treasured crus – but of Bordeaux’s entire wine scene. Witnessing radical change in the vineyards, breakthrough winery technology, and the sequence of stellar vintages that reawakened a global passion for this wine, he charts the way to a new-look Bordeaux that shook the world.
This book, translated by leading Bordeaux expert, Jane Anson, is Caze’s story, not just of his own journey, but of the evolution of wine-making over the 20th century and into the 21st, where his son now runs one of the most progressive chateaux in the world, in a new facility designed by Pei Partnership.
On Burgundy From Maddening to Marvellous in 39 Tales
Edited by Susan Keevil.
Introduction by Jasper Morris
MW. Foreword by Aubert de Villaine
Burgundy is France’s most prized and prestigious wine region today as well as being one of its oldest and most traded, if not always by the English.
On Burgundy’s team of experts explore the magical golden slope, from Chablis to Chiroubles, to reveal the riches of the ‘Côte d’Or’. From the jewel-like wines of its tiny cherished villages, to the Jurassic vineyards in which they grew; from the hoarders and fraudsters of this region’s far-from-saintly past, to the winemaking heroes who craft the burgundies we know today. This is the region that inspires all others – its story told here by greatest names in wine writing.
New British Wine New Makers, New Flavours, New Ethos
Abbie
Moulton, Maria Bell
‘British Wine’ was once shorthand for bad imported grape mush. Not anymore. The rise of sustainable methods, youthful experimentation and, dare we say it, a new climate, mean that Britain is no longer the home of a few fine sparklings but a whole roster of dynamic reds, pinks and even oranges. This book celebrates the people who are growing, producing and championing the best of new British wine. This sumptuous coffee table book, filled with superb original photography, brings together personal interviews with some of the most inspiring people in Britain’s fast-growing, eclectic wine scene – taking you on a tour of over 30 influential winemakers, sommeliers and restaurants, from Cornish vineyards to Scottish wine bars.
Ladurée Macarons
The Recipes
Vincent Lemains. Photographs by Antonin Bonnet
In the middle of the 20th century, Pierre Desfontaines, cousin of Louis Ernest Ladurée, created the first Ladurée macaron by having the genius to stick two macaron cookies together and fill them with a flavorful ganache. Ever since then, the preparation has stayed the same. Each season Ladurée celebrates this little round cake that’s crispy outside and soft inside, a perfect balance of aromas and textures, by creating new flavors. Each year the palette of flavors and colors grows, from the classic chocolate or raspberry to festive macarons, exotic flavors for certain destinations, fashion designers, perfumes etc. This book presents each of the 80 Ladurée macarons, their aromas, inspirations, trend books and of course all of the recipes to make them at home. At the end of the book there is a practical, step-by-step section to show exactly how Ladurée’s chefs make the cookies and the ganache fillings so you can be sure to succeed in making them too.

Philippe Andrieu. Photographs by Sophie Tramier
The story of Ladurée started in 1862 when Louis Ernest Ladurée opened a bakery in the heart of Paris at 16 rue Royale. In 1872, following a fire, the little bakery became a pastry shop and the decoration was then done by Jules Cheret. Jeanne Souchard, Ernest Ladurée’s wife, had the idea of combining the Parisian café with a pastry-shop, thereby creating one of Paris’ first tea-rooms. In 1993 Ladurée was bought by Francis and David Holder and became one of the best-known gourmet addresses in Paris. In 1997 Ladurée opened a tea-room/restaurant on the prestigious ChampsElysées, followed by another in the Printemps department store and on the Left Bank as well as the beginning of their international adventure with branches in London, Geneva, Monaco and Tokyo. In this book Philippe Andrieu, the Pastry Chef at Ladurée, reveals 100 of the most famous Ladurée recipes, adapted for the general public.

IN /FORM Holly Addi
Edited by Wim Pauwels
Holly Addi is a U.S.-based artist who creates abstract paintings focused on the philosophy of beauty in imperfection. With a background in psychology, Addi examines energy, color, space, and landscape through tempered abstraction. Addi considers her practice as a “composition of imperfectionism.” By utilizing abstraction, she creates moments by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, providing a space for contemplation. Her works do not reference any particular form, and interpretation becomes multifaceted. She has exhibited nationwide, and has been featured in Architectural Digest, My Domain and Electrify Magazine. Holly’s work can be found in public and private collections worldwide.

Michael del Piero
Traveled and Textural
Edited by Wim Pauwels
Interiors designed by Michael Del Piero are full of delightful contradictions. She designs minimalist rooms rich with historical character, meticulously edited gallery-like spaces that still have the comforting warmth of home, and breezy abodes with crisp architectural details that feel tailored rather than severe. But the fact that her projects, sprinkled across the United States, come off as reassuringly familiar yet entirely fresh, as they blend elements of American and European style, is a direct result of her background. The designer was born and raised in Chicago. This book loosely divides Del Piero’s projects into four sections: Relaxed, Refined, Rough and Restrained.

What The Band Wore Fashion & Music
Alice Harris, Christian John Wikane
What The Band Wore by Alice Harris is an unprecedented collection of photographs that illustrates four decades of pop, rock, soul, disco, funk, punk, reggae, heavy metal, and hip hop fashion. Sparkling sequins, safety pins, and even suits from outer space are spotlighted in more than 80 images by acclaimed music photographers, including Terry O’Neill, Henry Diltz, Norman Seeff, Bruce Talamon, and Lynn Goldsmith.
Featuring exclusive comments from legendary artists, What the Band Wore traces the evolution of stage wear from the 1960s through the 1990s, from the self-made counterculture style of Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, and Sly & The Family Stone to the custom designs that Bob Mackie, Bill Whitten, Larry LeGaspi, Vivienne Westwood, and Issey Miyake created for the most renowned names in music. Whether it’s Elvis Presley or Janet Jackson posing in tight leather, Freddie Mercury masquerading as a harlequin, or Run-DMC sporting their iconic footwear, these pages thread together a fabulous celebration of fashion and music.

Normski
The Man with the Golden Shutter
Normski
Normski was a vital witness to the period known as the Golden Age of Rap, when big US artists like Run DMC, LL Cool J and Public Enemy started to play in the UK. At the same time, a British music scene born of Black music and myriad multicultural influence was developing, giving birth to Jungle, Garage and Techno. The author, who describes himself as having been a “young Black British homeboy photographer”, was in the right place at the right time to document the emergent music, community and social movements of hip hop and rap in the UK. Normski: The Man with the Golden Shutter presents Normski’s personal journey through that world from the mid-1980s to early 1990s. The book includes Normski’s often previously unseen photographs of Public Enemy, N.W.A., Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Goldie, Ice-T, Run DMC, Wu-Tang Clan and many others, alongside the photographer’s stories and anecdotes from the center of what would become a hugely influential cultural movement.
Post Truth
A love letter to Los Angeles through the lens of a pastel postmodernism
George Byrne
George Byrne’s photography depicts the gritty urbanism of Los Angeles in sublime otherworldliness. Arriving a decade ago, the Australian artist was immediately enthralled by the sprawling cityscape of L.A., mesmerized by the way the sunlight transformed it, into two-dimensional, almost painterly abstractions. In his Post Truth series (2015–22), Byrne reassembles his photos of the urban landscape into striking, ascetic collages of color and geometric fragments, creating a postmodernist oasis in the metropolis. By masterfully harnessing the malleability of the photographic medium, the photographer situates his work in the space between real and imagined. Byrne’s compositions evoke associations with Miami Beach’s Art Deco, the Memphis Group’s designs, as well as the painting of David Hockney or Ed Ruscha, and at the same time tap into the aesthetics of today’s visual culture played out on Instagram.

Alejandra Guerrero - Auto Erotica
Alejandra Guerrero, Miss Rosen
In the third decade of the 21st century, we are witnessing an unprecedented exploration of female sexual power, while on the other hand reactionary cultural forces contrive to keep women as defenseless as possible. In this context, the work of photographer Alejandra Guerrero can be understood as a clarion call. Hers is a rarefied visual art that marks a turning point for female sexuality in erotica, her eloquent tableaux revealing the intricate ways in which women exert their erotic power. Here we see a future in which women dictate raw, yet refined desires. Each moment comes from the erotic fever dreams of the participants and the desires of the woman behind the camera.

Willie Christie
a very distinctive style: Then & Now Willie Christie
Willie Christie’s photographs are far more than a record of fashion, style or contemporary culture. Dynamic, cinematic and stylish, they present beautifully observed moments within a narrative, leaving the viewer intrigued, beguiled and enthralled. His work from the heady mid-1970s remains highly relevant today, speaking to us through the uncompromising individuality and power of his compositions. And as recently as 2019, his ground-breaking series of advertising images for Medway Shoes threw another curve ball across the field of modern visual art.
With a foreword by legendary Vogue style director Grace Coddington, this first ever collection of Christie’s vibrant work, re-examines the people and the styles of his original output, together with his own reminiscences from his days at Vogue and The Sunday Times and from his collaborations with Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones.

Flower Pieces
A Photographic Journey Around the World
Bas Meeuws
Bas Meeuws’ photographs are of an old-fashioned beauty and at the same time radically contemporary. Flower by flower he composes his still lifes, but digitally: the basis for Meeuws’ monumental works are digital photographs of individual flowers. They nod to the Dutch masters of the 17th-century with their love of luxury, but also their eye for the ephemeral. Meeuws struck a chord in the art world with his floral still lifes. He is represented by Dutch and Taiwanese galleries and exhibits from Amsterdam to New Delhi.
Gas Stations
An Illustrated History
Thomas Vanhaute
“The gas station’s attractive visual qualities, multiplied by its omnipresence in the roadside landscape of the mid-20th century have made it – certainly in America – a true cultural icon.”- Thomas Vanhaute
This book takes the reader on a photographic journey through time, telling the story of the roadside beacons of the automobile age: the gas stations. Starting from the very early years of motoring at the dawn of the 20th century, when cars would fill up at a primitive manual gas pump, to the iconic and sometimes bizarre structures of the heyday of the gas station concept in the 1930s through the 1950s. A concluding section looks at the afterlife of the disused gas station and investigates its adaptive reuse and position as built heritage within the historic urban landscape. Carefully selected and unique historical photographs from archives across the world give insight into the architectural and spatial elements of gasoline distribution, but equally looks into the social aspect of the gas station, as a roadside oasis where people of all walks of life would meet, during a brief stop-over.

Unseen Burma Early Photography 1862-1962 Thweep Rittinaphakorn
When the British colonized Burma, they brought with them the latest technology in cameras and photographic reproduction, and since these were introduced to Burma as early as the middle of the 19th century, the country is richly cataloged and photographed. The new technology was first popularized by western practitioners (Germans, Italians, and, of course, the British) and upper-class patrons, but then spread to the mass market. Thai scholar Thweep Rittinaphakorn (Ake) has written and lectured widely on Burmese culture, whilst collecting and/or inspiring groups of photographs.
Unseen Burma takes readers on a stunning visual journey from the beginning of Burma, its colonial era, through to the hopeful first years of independence.

True Wildlife
Tom D. Jones, foreword by Steve McCurry
“Tom’s committed career has captured images that will serve as pieces of history for generations to come.” – Steve McCurry
Tom D. Jones is a wildlife photographer: he makes a point of never photographing animals in captivity and portrays them very closely. The results are almost human portraits of impressive animals such as elephants, rhinos, lions, etc. They also carry a clear message: let’s take care of these oftenendangered species and the world they inhabit before it’s too late. This is precisely what his friend and colleague Steve McCurry emphasizes in the foreword to this great book.
The Adventure of Photography in Yokohama and Beyond, 1853–1912
Sebastian Dobson
Between the twilight years of the Tokugawa shogunate (1603–1867) and the end of the Meiji Era (1868-1912), photography offered a unique insight into the rapid transformation of Japan from an isolated, feudal society to a modern, industrialized state. Whether cherished as souvenirs of an exotic land of fond imagination or curated as visual documents of a fast-changing society, these images by foreign and Japanese photographers, often packaged in exquisitely produced albums, enjoyed a wide circulation abroad and played an important role in influencing perceptions of Japan in the West well into the early 20th century.

Without its pubs, London just wouldn’t be London. They are the backbone and the heart – not to mention the liver – of our city. This collection of vintage photographs is a glorious reminder of the pre-pandemic joys of jostling at the bar while also showcasing the classic design of the traditional pub, from large lounges to secretive backrooms and smoky bars. Celebrating the bartenders, musicians, gamblers and chancers that congregate to get one more round in, these uplifting images show us tipsy Londoners at their best – reveling in community, friendship and the art of letting loose.

Metropolis
Alan Schaller
What makes a city a city? Is it the buildings, the people or is it an interplay of both? In Metropolis Allan Schaller has answered this question in his own individual way, setting standards in modern street photography. For all lovers of spectacular black-and-white photography, the coffee table book Metropolis is a must-have. In a unique way, Allan Schaller depicts urban contrasts that big cities like New York, London, Havana, Kyoto or Istanbul hold in store in their architecture and everyday life. In Metropolis, Allan Schaller elevates unusual city views to an art form, plays with light and shadow and creates a world in black and white that captivates the viewer. The photographs seem like random snapshots. As if the viewers were walking through the streets himself and catching a glimpse of a scene out of the corner of his eye. This is what fans of Schaller love about his work. The photo artist manages to capture the moment of surprise for eternity.
Autochrome Fascination of Early Color Photography Dr. Maria Reitter-Kollmann, Dr. Alfred Weidinger
Autochromes were the first commercial color photographs. Invented in 1904 by the Lumière brothers Auguste and Louis in Paris, color photographs caused a great sensation at the time. They were an innovation and the first way to depict the world in true-to-life color and thus capture it for eternity. This impressive book was compiled by Dr. Maria Reitter-Kollmann and Dr. Alfred Weidinger, leading experts on the history of color photography at the Oberösterreichische Landes-Kultur GmbH in Linz. The museum holds one of the most important European collections of historical autochromes, consisting of more than 1,000 photographs by photographic pioneers. Autochrome, presents the most beautiful and important pieces from this collection in their full glory. In addition to the wonderful pictures, the book also provides background knowledge about the technique of this first commercially usable color photography.

Beusker Look into my Eyes
Lars Beusker
Lars Beuskers photographs wild animals in their natural environment at close range and almost always manages to make eye contact. He consciously seeks the animal’s attention and sensitively captures this intense moment with the camera. The fascinating intimacy that the artist creates with giraffes, buffalo, and zebras is palpable. Beusker’s photographs of wild elephants and big cats such as leopards, panthers and lions are also legendary. Animals that you would never get so close to as a human being under normal circumstances. The fascinating black-and-white photographs are bursting with detail. Every hair, every wrinkle and every muscle of the wild beauties is visible and, in some pictures, you have the feeling that the animal will jump out of the book at you in the next moment.

Circesque Christian Tagliavini
Circesque is a celebration of an idea Christian Tagliavini had in 2008. Exploring the world of the circus, this specially crafted book is a unique invitation for the reader to form their own stories through exquisitely detailed costumes, unexpected props, and a glimpse of the people behind the greasepaint and powder. Circesque explores the untold lives of circus folk. Stripped of the tired clichés of circus life, these mise-en-scène portraits reveal the human behind the archetype. The images betray the protagonists’ innermost feelings as they mount the platform, put themselves on the line, and take the risk: all under the watchful eye of their audience. Acrobats. Trapezists. High-wire performers. Escape artists. Tattooed ladies. Jugglers. Nature-defying contortionists. All present and accounted for as in any traditional Big Top.
Face to Face With the Great Apes Anup Shah, Fiona Rogers
In 60 fascinating photo portraits, nature photographers Anup Shah and Fiona Rogers show chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans and bonobos in close-ups taken in the animals’ natural environment. For this, the renowned and multi-awardwinning wildlife photographers lived together with the apes in the jungle, and built up an intimate relationship of trust. Only in this way was it possible to capture these intimate portraits of the wild animals. In addition to the unique nature photography, Face to Face also offers a lot of exciting background information on the history of the photographs. The individual photos are framed by interesting accounts of Anup’s and Fiona’s experiences during their lives with the animals. In wonderful stories, the two tell of the different characters of the animals photographed and thus give the reader hidden insights into the species of the great apes.

Dots on Paper
Philip Glass by Andreas H. Bitesnich
Andreas H. Bitesnich
Dots on Paper by Andreas H. Bitesnich is a tribute to the life and work of the famous pianist Philip Glass. He is one of the most important pioneers of American minimal music and composed the film music for well-known films such as The Illusionist, The Truman Show, Fantastic Four and Cassandra’s Dream
In 2010, the Austrian photographer Bitesnich met the composer Philip Glass together with the conductor and long-time friend Dennis Russel Davies. A close friendship developed between the three. For five years he accompanied the composer on concerts and tours and recorded these journeys and performances in his photographs. The result is an intimate portrait of Philip Glass as a musician, and a work of art. The format and cover are reminiscent of a record cover, the photographs used are mostly in black and white and technically perfect.
Floral Richard Fischer
An impressive book, Floral aims to archive the biodiversity of our planet, because climate change is now threatening every second plant species. To record the uniqueness and beauty of our nature for posterity, botanical gardens and photographer Richard Fischer have launched an unprecedented art project. At the peak of their life cycle, Fischer photographs the plant with a sophisticated macro technique in his studio. The result is outstanding photographs that leave the viewer in rapt amazement. Richard Fischer creates close-ups of blossoms and flowers that seem almost mystically alien at first glance. His works are art. In the close-ups, every little hair and every vein of leaf becomes visible.

Christopher Bliss, is a true New Yorker, and who else could depict this great city in a more authentic way? Because there is so much more to the most famous city on the U.S. East Coast than the Empire State Building, Times Square and the Statue of Liberty. It is the hidden squares and buildings in Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens that reflect the city’s culture, everyday life and attitude to life. Bliss knows them all and has photographed them. The photo artist’s work, compiled over many years, is exhibited in several galleries and is installed as a permanent exhibition at the Museum of New York City. For all USA lovers and fans of New York, book is a must-have in. Discover the city’s landmarks, get to know the people who live there, and get an idea of the turbulent life in the megacity.
London Vertical Horst Hamann
London Vertical is a delight both for lovers of the British capital and for fans of Hamann’s work. Whether Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye or The Shard, Hamann presents all these sights, which have already been photographed thousands of times, in his own creative way and thus creates something completely new. The passionate photo artist was born in Mannheim in 1958 and discovered the camera for himself at the age of eleven. Having grown up on two continents, Europe and America, he began an intensive artistic exploration of the extreme format of panorama photography in 1985. But it was not until 1991 that what Hamann’s followers adore about him today happened: He turned his camera to portrait format for the first time at the intersection of 41st Street and Avenue of the Americas and has since been called the “inventor” of vertical photography among insiders.

Lost in the Beauty of Bad Weather
Christophe Jacrot
When a bad weather front piles up in front of a big city, Christophe Jacrot is certainly not far away. The French photographer specifically looks for rain and snow to capture his atmospheric snapshots. Jacrot’s subjects could come from film noir, but they are deliberately in color. For more than a decade, the name Christophe Jacrot has been associated with the photography of landscapes (urban or natural) determined by the weather. In his work, weather conditions are always extreme: the city is seen through a windowpane dripping with rain or a curtain of snow. His images capture the beauty of megacities transfigured by the weather with perfection and poetry. In his eyes, “there are two ways of photographing the world: capturing its horror or sublimating it”. In view of his nature photography, it quickly becomes clear which he prefers.

New York Street Diaries is an impressive book for all the fans of the Big Apple. Phil Penman shows the big city on the east coast of the USA from a side that is rarely seen, calm and tranquil. The pictures were taken partly during the great snowstorm and partly during the Corona Lockdown and are thus contemporary witnesses of the pandemic restrictions that completely turned our previouslyknown world upside down. Born in London, he has been photographing the streets of New York for well over two decades. Penman knows how to capture the city in its most sensitive moments in an impressive way. He catches intimate moments in his black-and-white photographs and shows the people and streets of New York City far away from the hustle and bustle.

Far from the hustle and bustle of New York City: black and white photographs with a calm aesthetic and atmosphere, with remarkable shots of the deserted streets of New York during the Covid Lockdown.
These previously unpublished images of New York’s waterfront are presented here as part of a unique editorial project: the iconographic perspective is analyzed and discussed in Pauline Vermare’s interview with Sophie Fenwick, and finds further literary development in the photographer’s poetry, on which she started working during the pandemic and is used here to accompany the visual narrative. The language of photography is used here — in a series of black and white and color shots — to retrace the memory of a transformation and to express the urgency of documentation that in these pages evolves from personal to universal. The invitation to travel voiced by Fenwick is visual poetry articulated in a series of pictures, each of which possesses the potential to become a true icon.
Following on from the first three books in the Unseen series about New York, London and Berlin, Tokyo Unseen is another authentic approach to one of the largest and most fascinating cities of our civilization. In unique photographs, Polish photo artist Lukasz Palka, who has lived and worked in Tokyo since 2008, succeeded in explaining his home city to strangers in pictures. The street life photographer describes his own work as a by-product of his countless walks through the city, where he constantly encounters exciting scenes and people.
Tokyo Unseen presents wonderful pictures of people going about their daily lives, of skyscrapers and temples and the unique culture of life that arises when 14 million people meet in a very small space.

The
Secret World of Mushrooms
Jan Vermeer
Wonderland is a trip into the fascinating world of mushrooms. Dutch photographer Jan Vermeer took on this incomparable project after being fascinated by the beauty of two toadstools in his own garden. Equipped with his camera, he enthusiastically set off on a mushroom hunt and was rewarded with pictures in intoxicating colors and shapes of the most extraordinary and sometimes very rare specimens. He has now compiled the most beautiful shots in Wonderland In short but informative texts, the author describes the wealth of forms of his plant photographic models, their usefulness in medicine, but also the dangers posed by fungi. He explains the symbiosis between fungi and trees and devotes special attention to slime molds. In entertaining words, Vermeer explains to his readers the challenges he faced as a nature photographer in this ambitious project.

Tibetan Carpets The Rudi Molacek Collection
Rudi Molacek, Thomas Wild, Thomas Cole, Felix Elwert
Artist and photographer Rudi Molacek has assembled, with an artist’s eye, an idiosyncratic collection of more than 300 Tibetan carpets, rugs, mats, seat-, bench- and saddle-covers. Between the 15th and the 20th centuries they were woven for both sacred and secular purposes by Tibetan nomads and villagers, and in the shadow of monastic centers across the Tibetan Plateau. The first volume presents Tibetan rugs intended for sitting, sleeping, meditation and horse riding, as well as those made to furnish the region’s prestigious temples and monasteries — an expression of the relative wealth and status of their owners. The second volume focuses on a group of so-called ‘Wangden’ rural rugs, characterized by a unique weaving technique, some of which have been the subject of an illuminating exercise in radiocarbon dating to establish the antiquity of the tradition.
Central Asian Textiles The Neville Kingston Collection
Tereza Hejzlarová, Snejanna Atanova
For thousands of years, the peoples of Central Asia have created spectacular textiles for every aspect of life. Infinite care, resources and time have gone into making elaborate costumes, equestrian items, and exquisite furnishings for settled as well as nomadic lifestyles. Items of dress were decorated literally from top to toe: boots were embroidered with metal thread, while hats were stitched, appliquéd and felted. The women of a family would come together to embroider dazzling suzanis to form part of a bride’s dowry; master dyers and weavers would craft vibrant ikat hangings. Combined, these objects tell an evocative story of life along the Silk Road in times past. This book brings together outstanding textiles from the Neville Kingston Collection, featuring many previously unpublished pieces. It is the second volume to document this exceptional English collection; Turkmen Carpets: The Neville Kingston Collection was published in 2016.
Tai A Woven Culture
Photographs by Hans Roels
This lavish, large format art project is the culmination of 20 years research of Tai culture throughout Southeast Asia, beginning with Napajaree Suandduenchai’s vast 1,500 piece silk collection which has remained private until now. All 230 photographs were shot on sheet film to bring out the most intricate details of the textiles. Over the last 20 years, Mrs. Suanduenchai and photographer Hans Roels visited all the major Tai subgroups in their towns and villages to document their weaving traditions, culture and individual stories - their belief of who they are and where they came from. Roels’ photography captures both the intricacy of the Tai weaving arts as well as the people behind the textiles. As of 2022 at least 75% of the villages that Suanduenchai and Roels visited no longer produce traditional Tai textiles, leaving the reader as the last eye-witnesses to a spectacular culture.
