“My homes are my life’s work—making old houses into a new form of my art,” says Hunt Slonem in his preface. Extraordinary photography, capsule summaries of each building’s history, and a sprinkling of anecdotes open the doors to Slonem’s personal and creative world from a new perspective. This book about his idiosyncratic, maximalist interior design style—how he employs color, arranges an abundance of antique furniture, exhibits his personal art and objects, mixes antique art with his own contemporary works, and displays myriad collections—is awe-inspiring and inspirational. “More is more” is a fit adage for what this book reveals.

COWBOYS AND RODEOS

Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) photographer Alyn Robert Brereton offers both the beauty and the dirt of the western United States in Cowboys and Rodeos This stunning coffee-table book is a piece of art, showcasing a working ranch in northern California, horses, cattle, tack, boots, buckles, cowgirls, cowboys, and rodeos. You will be awed at the rough-stock events—bareback bronc, saddle bronc, and bull riding—and how the cowboys stay on the animals, or not, shown in amazing images. The timed events—steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing, and breakaway roping—require precision and finesse from both the riders and the photographer.

WOO WOO BABY: ASTROLOGY

Look up into the night sky! Do you see all the twinkling, sparkling stars? Some of them make shapes called constellations. The one you were born under is your sun sign. The shapes look like powerful animals and fierce warriors. This sweet exploration into the stars will introduce babies to the 12 astrological signs: Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. Each spread will highlight the animal/symbol of each sign and the personality traits each sign is known for.

NEIL CLARK is a music-loving, star-gazing illustrator and author. His rural upbringing, in the Yorkshire Wolds, fueled a playful imagination and a love of storytelling. This, combined with a degree in illustration and animation, led to a successful career in design.

WOO WOO BABY: CHAKRAS

You are a rainbow of energy—from the tips of your toes to the top of your head. Can you see all the colors? Together, the seven chakras make up the rainbow of energy inside you.

This sweet guide will introduce babies to the 7 chakras: root chakra, sacral chakra, solar plexus chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, third eye chakra, and crown chakra. Highlighting the colors, qualities, and emotions associated with each chakra, this book will empower even the youngest readers to be in touch with their amazing energy centers.

Adorable, package-driven trendy board books that teach babies about shapes, colors, and most importantly, chakras.

THE FRIENDLY ANIMALS

A Christmas Story

A sweet retelling of the first Christmas through the perspective of the animals in the barn who offered their own gifts to the baby Jesus. The Friendly Animals: A Christmas Story is taken from a centuries-old folk song now brightly and gently illustrated. This traditional Christmas story is perfect to read to small children during the holidays to teach about the nativity and the heartfelt gifts the animals at the manger gave to baby Jesus, sharing their kindness and love.

PUZZLES

Born and raised in Sheffield, England, JAMES NEWMAN GRAY studied illustration at Wolverhampton University after a childhood spent sketching and painting. He went on to have a long career as an in-house illustrator for several greeting card publishers, including Hallmark cards, working on branded characters and also on original illustration. Over the years, this taught him to develop many different styles and to work in many different media. Although a large part of James’s illustrations are done digitally now, he still likes to do line-art in his sketchpad and get the paints out and make marks.

She has produced work for numerous brands, magazines, and books, illustrating over a hundred children’s books published in the United States and worldwide. Until one day, Calaca Pascuala knocks on his door and takes him on a journey through the afterworld. But even there, Huesos can’t contain himself. Will he be able to knock, tumble, and chew his way back to Grandpa, or will he begin to create new forms of chaos from beyond the grave?
