There is something about the smooth surface of a puddle that beckons to children to disturb it—they want to see how the water splashes upward, to feel the droplets on their skin. This poetic, illustrated board book gives voice to the puddle as it invites the “stompers and jumpers” to explore its rippling water, offering to act as both dance partner and mirror onto the world.

Minnesota author Laura Purdie Salas has written more than 130 books, including Lion of the Sky, Clover Kitty Goes to Kittygarten, and Snowman-Cold=Puddle. Laura loves nature, donuts, and playing with words. She also loves to get kids excited about reading and writing. This is her first book with Creative Editions.

Swiss artist Monique Felix has illustrated more than 40 celebrated children's books, including Let's Go Outside, Chicken Wants a Nap, and Where Do I End and You Begin? Among her many honors is the Octogone Prize from the International Center of Children's Literature in France.
