If you would like to enrol in person, please come along on the 18th of April 2018 9:30am – 11:30am


Get Ready4Work This Course is designed to support you into paid or voluntary work. The programme includes communication and listening skills, to increase your confidence, as well as practical help in searching for a job role. This course would benefit anyone who wishes to move into a paid or volunteer position but are unsure where to start. Monday & Wednesday 10:00am – 2:00pm from 23rd April for 4 weeks. Making Time For Me It is easy to let everyday life get on top of you in today’s society. Mindfulness is a great was of reducing the stress and anxiety that may result from this. Through practice of Mindfulness, you will have the opportunity to learn techniques to to improve your mental well-being and feel more confident in dealing with situations. Monday 2nd, 9th & 16th June 9:15am – 2:45pm Confidence Building and Assertiveness This friendly and supportive course is aimed at people who want to take positive steps towards building their self-confidence and learn to communicate assertively. By the end of the course, you will ne able to identify and use confident behaviour and present yourself in a assertive manner. Monday 4th &11th June 9:15am-2:45pm


Beginners IT This course is an introduction to using a computer safely and correctly. You will have the opportunity to explore a variety of ways computers can help in everyday life e.g email for keeping in touch, internet skills for researching to improve health or well being or employability, or to further your interests. Please be aware that if you sign up for this course, you cannot sign up for the intermediate IT course. Course starts Wednesday 25 th April 10:00am – 12:00pm for 5 weeks. Please note that this course takes place on the first floor. Intermediate IT Learning new or improve existing IT skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows 10. Work at your own pace from build-up exercises with the guidance of an experienced tutor. Students should have either already attended the Beginners ITR of have a good knowledge of basic computer use. Please be aware that if you sign up for this course, you cannot sign up for the intermediate IT course. Course starts Wednesday 25 th April 1:00pm – 3:00pm for 5 weeks. Please note that this course takes place on the first floor. Cooking for Beginners – Healthy Eating on A Budget Do you want to make tasty, healthy meals with affordable everyday ingredients, but need better cooking skills? This course is for you. It will teach quick and easy cooking techniques, while giving you ideas for meals at home. Course starts Thursday 26th April 1:00pm – 3:00pm for 5 weeks.

The WEA courses are FREE if you are in receipt of any of the following benefits:         

KCU Courses ESOL Beginners This course is ideal if you are new to English. It will teach you all the basics to start in the language and prepare you for further courses. Such as ESOL intermediate/Advanced. Courses starts Monday 23rd April 12:30 – 2:30pm for 10 weeks. ESOL Intermediate/ Advanced Improve and build on your English with this course. It is ideal if you have completed the ESOL Beginners class, or if you already know some English. Course starts Monday 23rd April 12:30pm – 2:30pm for 10 weeks. Citizenship Learn about customs, traditions, history, law, politics and current Britain in this 10-week course. Course starts Monday 23rd April 2:30pm – 4:00pm for 10 weeks


Upcycling Do you have clothes that need mending? Bring up to three items along to the class and you will have the opportunity to learn how to mend them. You will learn the basics such as threading a needle, simple sewing, sew on a button, mend a hole, take up a hem and use a sewing machine. For those more confident with sewing, there will b the opportunity to upcycle fabrics into saleable items, e.g. bags, cushions. These items will be sold in the KCU Charity Shops. You will have access to sewing machines, materials and a tutor to guide you as needed. Course Starts Monday 14th May 1:00pm – 3:00pm for 6 weeks. Please note that this course takes place on the first floor. Our Upcycling Course is sponsored by Kettering Bourgh Council
