Remember those plastic watercolor paint sets we all had as kids? For most of us, it was just an item on the school supply list. For artist Jennifer McGill, it was a gift that ignited her interest in painting. In high school, she worked in an art supply store and in college she honed her skills in the watercolor medium.

A few years ago, she delved into oil painting and was instantly smitten! "It has a beautiful, gem-like quality," Jennifer explains. "It lasts for hundreds of years. I love it." Inspired by the strong compositions of 20th century American realist painters Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth, Jennifer focuses on telling interesting stories through the configuration of her pieces.
