The upper number placed to the right of the EN label indicates the class of protection for the garment and the lower number specifies reflective material. X: Classification of the fluorescent fabric’s area (max. 3). Y: Classification of the reflective material’s effect (max. 2).

EN ISO 20471 HIGH VISIBILITY The symbol is simplified and the number to the right explains the certified protection class. Jacket and trousers could achieve a higher class if they are certified together as a set. Eg. a jacket class 2 and trousers class 1 could achieve class 3. The requirements for colour fastness has also become stricter and products must undergo tests and have to be approved for colour fastness for a minimum of five wash. EN 1149 ELECTROSTATIC PROPERTIES The garment is certified in compliance with EN 1149-5, which specifies the requirements concerning product standards for anti-static garments. The garments reduce the risk of explosions due to their anti-static features. This fabric is certified in compliance with EN 1149-3. However, contact with the ground must be maintained and anti-static footwear must be used. The anti-static features of the garments are achieved through inter-weaving of the fabric in the yard goods. The garments therefore have permanent anti-static features. EN 11611 WELDING This garment complies with the requirements in CE standard EN11611 concerning protective clothing for welding and heat work. Protects against sparks and embers. Pockets, buttons and zippers are hidden and the fabric is flame retardant, which means that the fabric is damaged by direct exposure to heat and flames, but the fabric does not catch fire once the heat source is removed. EN 61482 ELECTRIC ARC Work clothing tested for protection against electric arc. For personnel who work in proximity to high-voltage-conducting facilities where there is risk of arc electric explosions. The temperature of an electric arc can reach thousands of degrees, and it is therefore important that garments are flame proof. A sole that protects the foot against penetration by nails and other pointed/ sharp objects should always be used on construction sites. Most of Synfiber’s safety shoes have textile penetration soles, which does not conduct heat and will not affect metal detectors. The sole requires somewhat more space than steel, but weights less and is more comfortable.

The toecap should protect against heavy blows/compression to the toes and should always be used on construction sites. A safety toecap of composite is non-metallic and will concequently not conduct temperatures. Composite requires more space than aluminium, which is used to produce the thinnest and lightest toecap. Aluminum toecaps weigh about 33 % less than steel toecaps, which are traditionally used the most though they’re relatively heavy.

GII is a stable sole with an open grip pattern providing good grip. Antitorison system supports the arch and lightweight Phylon midsole contributes to good energy absorption. Shock absorption, comfort and the upturned sole construction make the sole suitable for use all year round.

GIII GIII has toe-bumper for extra protection and grip. The sole is medium hard and has an asymmetric heel construction for natural touch down. Phylon midsole and good energy absorption in the heel ensures good shock absorption. GIII has a good flexpoint, self-cleaning slot in the sole, «ladder-grip” and powerful stop pattern that provides very good grip throughout the year.

TRX II is a solid, molded rubber sole, where the lightweight and comfortable Phylon midsole is embedded in the sturdy outsole. The sole has a powerful grip pattern and is suitable for use outdoors and on slippery surfaces.

G-PU provides good grip, good shock absorption and doesn’t rub. G-PU has a good flexpoint, open design and grip patterns with friction knobs for safe and secure footing.

In order to prolong the life of your shoes, they should be regularly cared for, and we recommend that you treat your footwear with a wax – or silicone based – product. In this regard, it is of particular importance that you take extra care when applying to seam areas. If your shoes are exposed to moisture, they should be dried in a well ventilated room at normal room temperature, and not in sunlight or with direct heat. Synfiber uses only top grade leather in its products, and this quality of hide tends to have high fat content. Therefore, there might appear white “stripes” in the leather. These stripes are more visible on dark rather than light leather, and can be easily wiped away using a soft cloth.
