SYNFIBER HI-VIS The standard specifies requirements and test methods for visibility clothing concerning ample visibility in exposed situations under all sorts of lightning conditions. EN ISO 20471 will eventually replace EN 471. All new products into the market will now be certified to EN ISO 20471. However, it will be a gradual transition between these two standars the next few years. During this period, both EN 471 and EN ISO 20471 certified garments will be on the market simultaneously. EN ISO 20471 HIGH VISIBILITY The new norm will essentially provide the same protection for the user and standard sets still require that high-visibility garments visually should highlight the userâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s presence. EN ISO 20471 may also be used in high risk situations and not just for normal professional use . Requirements for the visible area of fluorescent material and reflective material and three class sections are retained. Design requirements have changed to what part of the body the garment covers and not as previously, garment type. Eg. in the new norm must all garments in class 3 cover over the body and must have a minimum of sleeves with reflective material or long legs with reflective bands . Garments may also be sertified as sets to achieve class 3. Eg . jacket cl. 2 and trouser cl. 1 can achieve class 3 . The former classification of reflective material in level 1 or 2 expires . Reflective and fluorescent materials shall be equally distributed on each garments front and back with a maximum deviation of +/- 10 %. Minimum area per m2 garment: Fabric Class 3 Class 2 Class 1 Fluorescent material 0,80 0,50 0,14 Reflective material 0,20 0,13 0,10 The requirements for colour fastness are also stricter: Products must undergo tests and be approved for colour fastness for a minimum of five wash/dry. Product lifecycle and visibility degree may be limited by several factors other than washing, for example, dirt and abrasion. THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAFETY SHOES 01 G-PU provides good grip, good shock absorption and doesn’t rub. G-PU has a good flexpoint, open design and grip patterns with friction knobs for safe and secure footing. 02 G-SPORT II is a lightweight sole providing optimum protection, shock absorption and comfort. Antitorison system in arch provides extra stability and upturned toe construction is a weight-saving design feature that provides extra durability over toe caps. Suitable for use indoors or outdoors in spring, summer and fall. 03 PLANET is a super lightweight outsole with good flex lines in the forefoot providing good flexibility. Stop pattern under mid-foot and grip design pattern on the sides of forefoot. Antitorison system supports the arch and the heel brake design contributes to a natural step. Suitable for use indoors or outdoors in spring, summer and fall. 04 GIII has toe-bumper for extra protection and grip. The sole is medium hard and has an asymmetric heel construction for natural touch down. Phylon midsole and good energy absorption in the heel ensures good shock absorption. GIII has a good flexpoint, self-cleaning slot in the sole, "ladder-grip" and powerful stop pattern that provides very good grip throughout the year. 05 TRX II is a solid, molded rubber sole, where the lightweight and comfortable Phylon midsole is embedded in the sturdy outsole. The sole has a powerful grip pattern and is suitable for use outdoors and on slippery surfaces.

06 FLEX is a lightweight, classic and sporty sole with good cushioning. The sole has an asymmetrical heel construction for natural touch down. Reinforced heel and front for strength and protection. Phylon midsole and shock absorbtion in heel ensures good cushioning. Flex has a good flexpoint, self-cleaning slot in the sole, “ladder grip” and a distinct grip pattern providing good grip in all seasons. 07+08 ANTI-PENETRATION SOLE (P): A sole that protects the foot against penetration by nails and other pointed/sharp objects should always be used on construction sites. Most of Synfiber’s safety shoes have textile penetration soles, which does not conduct heat and will not affect metal detectors. The sole requires somewhat more space than steel, but weights less and is more comfortable.

WASHING AND CARE OF WORKWEAR AND FOOTWEAR All garments have washing instructions, and it is important that these be carefully followed. Be particularly aware that garments made of fluorescent material can become discoloured and lose their function if washing instructions are not followed. Regular changing and washing of clothing increases lifetime and reduces accumulated soil. When using a clothes dryer, remove clothing immediately once they are dry. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF SPECIAL WORKWEAR EN ISO 20471/EN ISO 11612 • Must not be washed together with other types of clothing. • Should not be soaked prior to washing. • Powerful alkaline detergents, such as spot remover, should not be used. • Detergents containing bleaching agents and/or dissolvents will destroy the reflective material and the colour of the product. • The temperature must not surpass 60 degrees celsius when using a clothes dryer. • Teflon-treated clothing will have reduced water repellency after repeated washes. • The garments should be inspected following each wash. In order to prolong the life of your shoes, they should be regularly cared for, and we recommend that you treat your footwear with a wax – or silicone based – product. In this regard, it is of particular importance that you take extra care when applying to seam areas. If your shoes are exposed to moisture, they should be dried in a well ventilated room at normal room temperature, and not in sunlight or with direct heat. Synfiber uses only top grade leather in its products, and this quality of hide tends to have high fat content. Therefore, there might appear white “stripes” in the leather. These stripes are more visible on dark rather than light leather, and can be easily wiped away using a soft cloth. Use of safety footwear • As regards anti-static footwear, it is important to note that the shoe’s anti-static properties can be affected by use of an extra sole or a sole of a different type. • Moisture and wear and tear can deteriorate the condition of the shoes. The shoes must be regularly inspected to ensure that safety norms are being fulfilled. • As regards use of extra soles in footwear with a safety toe, it is important to ensure that there is ample space in the toe region. This can affect the shoe’s protection against blows and compression. • The user must ensure that footwear being used has the appropriate specifications with regard to the safety risks to which he or she is being exposed.

COMPANY LOGO ON THE CLOTHES

A simple way to stand out a little from the crowd of workers at a construction site can be to switch out your safety shoes with slippers. Or just drop your helmet. But if you want to be noticeable, without breaking the regulations, profiling your clothes may be an excellent solution. We press, embroider and assemble the desired logo on all kinds of workwear, including elastic material. Our heat transfers have a crystal clear sharpness and are uniquely resistant to wear and tear from use and washing. They are also flame retardant and can be applied to elastic fabrics as well as to normal work clothing. This is how we differ from others.

In other words, this is a guarantee that harmful chemicals that could be left in the finished product do not exceed permitted values. 95% of all the garments in this catalog are manufactured from Oeko-Tex 100 certified materials.
