Aunty Jeannie’s Fruit Bars Ingredients: Crust: 2 cups Flour 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar 1 cup Butter (2 sticks) Top Layer: 1/2 cup Flour 1 tsp Baking Powder 1/2 tsp Salt 1-1/2 cups Sugar 4 Eggs (sightly beaten) 1 cup Walnuts (chopped) 1 cup Candied Fruit Cake Mix (finely chopped)
Directions: Crust: 1. Sift flour & powdered sugar together. 1. Cut butter into mixture using 2 butter knives. Mix by hand, do not use mixer. 2. Press dough into a 9”x13” pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min. or slightly brown. **Do not bake crust until you have made the top layer. Top Layer: 1. Mix sugar & eggs together. Add in flour, baking powder & salt. 2. Mix in walnuts & finely chopped candied fruit cake mix. 3. Mix by hand in a bowl. Prepare before baking crust. 4. When crust is ready, add top layer & bake for approximately 30-40 minutes. 5.
