Mackenzie Furlett (she/her) ( Movement Captain, u/s Frances, u/s Joan) is a junior musical theater major from Vernon Hills, IL (a suburb of Chicago). She is so excited to be working with the Department of Drama again after working on productions such as H*llo K*tty Syndrome (studio project) and Miss Havisham’s Wedding (New Works, New Voices). She is so grateful for getting to work with such an amazing company and would like to thank her family and friends, as well as her peers and instructors for all their love and support. Samantha Harnick (she/her) ( Tilly ) is a junior musical theater major from Los Angeles, CA. In the past, she has performed in the musical adaptation of As You Like It by Shaina Taub as Celia (Department of Drama mainstage) and continued her Shakespeare work studying at the Globe Theatre in London in the fall. She is grateful for her amazing company that has allowed space for craziness and seriousness.
Kevin Ilardi (Frank) is a junior actor major with a concentration in musical performance. He is from Goshen, NY, where he began his educational theater career with Cinderella, 42nd Street, Godspell, and Beauty and the Beast. During his time enrolled in Syracuse University he has portrayed Old Gargary in Miss Havisham’s Wedding (New Works, New Voices) and Oliver in the musical adaptation of As You Like It (mainstage). He is coming off of a semester abroad studying at Shakespeare’s Globe in London. He is incredibly excited to be portraying Frank in Melancholy Play, and he would like to thank his family and friends for coming to support him and his fantastic cast and crew.
Sydney Kamel (she/ her) (u/s Tilly) is a junior musical theater major from Colorado. She is excited to work with the Syracuse University Department of Drama once more, after performing as Imogen in Cymbeline (mainstage), Natalie Goodman in Next to Normal (studio project), and a as a swing in the beloved (unseen) production of Urinetown. She is so grateful to be a part of this beautiful, weird, goofy production, and she wants to thank her family and her friends for all the love, support, and joy that they give her every day. Ryan Kennedy (he/ him/his) (u/s Frank, u/s Lorenzo) is a sophomore acting major from Connecticut. He is beyond excited to be a part of his first Department of Drama mainstage production having previously appeared in The New Works, New Voices initiative’s reading of The Myth of the Mountain (ensemble) and Black Box Players’ Dealing Dreams (swing).
Dani Saril (she/her) (Frances) is a sophomore musical theater major from New Rochelle, NY. She recently worked on Barbecue, produced by the Department of Drama. On campus, Dani can be seen performing with her Improv Group, Galactic Chug, as well as with her a cappella group, Oy Cappella. Franco Tomaino (Lorenzo ) is a sophomore actor/singer from Wethersfield, CT. Jacqueline R. Herter (she/her) (Sound Designer) has served as resident sound designer at Syracuse Stage and Syracuse University’s Department of Drama since 1997. She shifted and combined theatrical design with video/film design for the 2020-2021 season. Herter has designed for Indiana Repertory Theatre, Studio Arena, the Wilma,
Geva, Round House, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Virginia Stage, and the Hangar Theater as well as other theaters across the nation. Andrea Leigh-Smith (Movement) is a professor of dance in the Department of Drama’s musical theater program. Department of Drama choreographic credits include Arabian Nights, Lysistrata, A New Brain, The Cradle Will Rock, Merrily We Roll Along , Violet , Seussical , Spring Awakening, Parade, Avenue Q, Kiss Me, Kate, The Spitfire Grill, Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill: A Musical Voyage, The Baltimore Waltz, The Wild Party, and On The Lake. Most recently Andrea was the associate choreographer for Syracuse Stage’s holiday co-production of The Little Mermaid. She also choreographed Matilda the Musical and The Underpants with Syracuse Stage. She has worked at The Hangar

Theater choreographing Louis Braille: The World at Your Fingertips and Into the Woods . Previously in her career, Andrea worked as a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher in the U.S. and Canada. Broadway credits include Jerome Robbins Broadway and SMILE . She also has numerous credits with national tours, Radio City Music Hall, and major regional theaters in the U.S. and Canada. Andrea is cofounder and resident choreographer for The Irondale Ensemble Project Canada and a company member of The Building Company. She is honored to be choreographing A Christmas Carol for the Syracuse Stage/Department of Drama 2023 2024 holiday co-production!
Hannah “Rock” Roccisano (she/ they) (Fight and Intimacy Direction) is a New York City based fight and intimacy director, director, educator and Shakespeare nerd. Her work has been seen off-Broadway including Wolf Play, A Bright New Boise, and Montag this season. She has intimacy directed Sweet Charity (Department of Drama mainstage), Our Dear Dead Drug Lord, and Lungs (studio projects). Rock has choreographed regionally and at universities such as Columbia University, and the Hartt School. She is a certified teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors and holds two masters degrees, an M.F.A. and Master of Letters in Shakespeare & Performance
from Mary Baldwin University. Hannah is the chair of development for the SAFD and the founder of Expand, Educate, Empower, an initiative bringing free stage combat training to students in underserved communities across the U.S.
Celia Madeoy ( Voice/Dialect Coach ) is an associate professor of voice and acting with the Department of Drama at Syracuse University and Syracuse Stage. She has performed professionally with many League of Resident Theatres and Shakespeare festivals across the United States including The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Folger Theatre, The Acting Company, Guthrie Theater, Shakespeare & Company, Theatre J, The REV Theatre Company/Broadway in the Finger Lakes, Marin Theatre Company, Arizona Repertory Theatre, and The Blackfriars Playhouse at the American Shakespeare Center. Her international Shakespeare training and performance includes voice work alongside Andrew Wade, Patsy Rodenburg, Giles Block, and distinguished directors and voice teachers of the Royal Shakespeare Company, British American Drama and performed in several productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and been featured in many roles at Syracuse Stage including Deb in Elf The Musical for which she won a Syracuse Area Live Theatre (SALT) Award for Best Supporting Actress. Celia is a proud M.F.A. acting graduate of the Theatre

Alexis Wilner (she/her) (Dramaturg) is a junior Drama major with concentrations in theater management and scenic design and a minor in disability studies. As a disabled artist, Alexis hopes to combine her theatrical endeavors and advocacy work to create a more accessible industry for disabled theater professionals. Her most recent credits include EPIC intern for EPIC Players NYC, community engagement intern for the world premiere of How to Dance in Ohio (Syracuse Stage), scenic designer for Lungs (studio project), and artistic director for Access Arts SU (Syracuse University and Black Box Players co-production).
Yuchao Zong (he/him) (Student Technical Director) is a senior theater design and technology major from Newark, DE. Other Syracuse scenic design credits include Sweet Charity (Department of Drama)
and assistant technical directing The Little Mermaid (Syracuse Stage).
Carrie DeGraw ( Casting Associate) is a senior theater management major from Union Springs, NY. During her time at Syracuse, she has been the Department of Drama’s casting associate, as well as a production assistant for the Department and Syracuse Stage. Previously, Carrie was a management intern at Jermyn Street Theatre in London, England and the development apprentice at Theatre Aspen in Aspen, CO, where she currently is working as the management and board coordinator and apprentice program coordinator.
Annabelle Lamb (she/her) (Stage Manager, Fight Captain) is a stage management major from Lake Forest, IL. This is her first mainstage production as stage manager, and she is so incredibly grateful to be a part of this production. She thanks her family and friends for their love and support!

Daniella Caggiano (she/her) is a queer disabled director, intimacy director, and native New Yorker. She is an alum of Roundabout’s Directors Group, MTC’s Directing Fellowship, The Drama League’s Residency, and the Lincoln Center Directors Lab.
Daniella has directed or developed work at NYTW, Joe’s Pub, The Tank, WOW Cafe, HERE, and Rattlestick, among others. Favorite directing
projects include a site-appropriate Fun Home in a funeral home (starring Tony nom. Jenn Colella), Next To Normal , Glass Town , Vinegar Tom (performed with an original Riot Grrrl score), Show Me Eternity, and Macbeth. Daniella has also assisted or associate directed for rock stars such as Leigh Silverman and Rebecca Taichman. M.F.A.: The New School, B.A.: Sarah Lawrence College.

Sarah Ruhl . Sarah Ruhl’s plays include In the Next Room, or the vibrator play, The Clean House, Passion Play, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Melancholy Play, For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday, The Oldest Boy, Stage Kiss, Dear Elizabeth, Eurydice, How to Transcend a Happy Marriage, Orlando, Late: a cowboy song, and a translation of Three Sisters. She has been a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and a Tony Award nominee. Her plays have been produced on and off Broadway, around the country, and internationally, where they have been translated into over fifteen languages. Originally from Chicago, Ms. Ruhl received her M.F.A. from Brown University, where she studied with Paula Vogel. She has received the Steinberg Award, the Samuel French Award, the Susan Smith Blackburn Award, the Whiting Award, the Lily Award, a PEN Award for midcareer playwrights, and the MacArthur Award. Her book 100 Essays I Don’t Have Time to Write was a New York Times notable book of the year, and she most recently published Letters from Max with Max Ritvo. She teaches at the
Yale School of Drama, and she lives in Brooklyn with her family.
Todd Almond is a composer, lyricist, and playwright. For The Public Theater/Shakespeare in the Park, he wrote the music and lyrics for the Public Works production of The Tempest at the Delacorte Theater (a production in which he also starred as Ariel). His musicals include Girlfriend (Berkeley Rep., and Actors Theatre of Louisville, with songwriter Matthew Sweet, dir: Les Waters); Melancholy Play (13P, with playwright Sarah Ruhl, dir: Davis McCallum); We Have Always Lived in the Castle (Yale Repertory Theater, with playwright Adam Bock, dir: Anne Kauffman); On The Levee (LCT3, dir: Lear deBessonet); The Odyssey (The Old Globe, dir: Lear deBessonet) and Iowa (Playwrights Horizons, 2015, with playwright Jenny Schwartz, dir: Ken Rus Schmoll). Almond musicdirected and arranged Sherie Rene Scott’s hit show Piece of Meat (54 Below and Hippodrome in London) and can be heard on Laura Benanti’s live album In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention. He has released two solo albums: Mexico City, and Memorial Day.

Ralph Zito (he, him) is in his thirteenth year as chair of the Department of Drama. He came to Syracuse University from the Juilliard School Drama Divi-
sion, where he had been a teacher and director from 1992 to 2010 and chair of the Voice and Speech Department since 1999. He was a director and adjunct lecturer in the Barnard College Theater Department

from 2006 until 2010 and has been a guest artist at training programs across the country, including the Old Globe in San Diego, The University of Texas at Austin, and the Academy for Classical Acting in Washington, DC. Directing credits for the Department of Drama include: The Spitfire Grill, As You Like It, Gruesome Playground Injuries, and The Aliens. He has served as a voice, text or dialect consultant for numerous professional productions both on and off-Broadway, including: The Light in the Piazza; Awake and Sing!; The Herbal Bed; Mrs. Klein; The Fiery Furnace; The Time of the Cuckoo (Lincoln Center Theatre); Tongue of a Bird; The Merchant of Venice (New York Shakespeare Festival); The Pitchfork Disney (Blue Light Theatre Company); Birdy (The Women’s Project); The Model Apartment (Primary Stages); the New York premiere of Tony Kushner’s SLAVS! (New York
Theatre Workshop); and The African Company Presents Richard III (The Acting Company). His regional theater credits include numerous productions at The Shakespeare Theatre and Arena Stage in Washington, DC; Syracuse Stage; Baltimore CENTERSTAGE; Hartford Stage; and the McCarter Theatre, among others. A former touring member of The Acting Company, he served as artistic associate of The Chautauqua Theatre Company for seven years and was a member of the Board of Directors of The American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) for six years. He is a graduate of Harvard University, The Juilliard School, and the American Center for the Alexander Technique. He was recently awarded the prestigious Juilliard President’s Medal in recognition of his contributions to both Juilliard and to the broader performing arts community.

Part of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, the Syracuse University Department of Drama offers degree programs in acting, musical theater, theater design and technology, stage management, and theater management
